It was super simple and reasonably priced! I was so impressed that they hooked/detached the trailer up for us. We just pulled in and they got us all hooked up and on our way!

We were told that the location adjacent to our destination would "probably" take the trailer. We were not told where to drop it off. Turns out it was a considerable distance! We called a closer site and were told we had to clear it through the Transportation Department. Did that. The guys were wonderful where we did drop it off, but it appears that all leg work is done by customers now. Improvement. would be to tell the customer at the beginning where to drop off the equipment and put that destination onto the paperwork instead of keeping it a secret.

The check-in and afterhours check-out processes were pretty well organized and the two reps on-site during check-in were helpful. The lot was well-lit afterhours. I will say that I was glad someone was with me to drop off the vehicle after dark (I did feel a little vulnerable).

When we picked up the van, we were told that it had been vandalized and repaired but that it had only 1/16 of a tank of gasoline so my son stopped on the way home to get gasoline. The attendant who was pumping the gas suddenly yelled, "not again!" The gasoline was pouring out of the pump and onto the pavement. The gas line had been cut.

I wish I knew their names! But when I picked up my uhaul on Sunday I had two people who helped. They both had excellent customer service, went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything. They were both super helpful and just overall really nice. I've picked up and dropped off at this location before and every time I have a wonderful experience. I will happily drive to this part of town if I ever need a uhaul because I KNOW I'll be in good hands.

Ordered Furniture pads and dolly were not in the truck when picking up. Location charged me a second day of rental despite my call to the customer service to indicate that mobile return did not work. Very disfuncional overall, on top of a disfuncional mobile app. Not a good experience at all given an already stressful day.

Husband picked up uhaul before regular business hours and checked out using his phone, but they did not include the hand truck that we requested and charged us for it. There was a line when we went to return the truck after we were done using it and my husband didn't want to deal with trying to explain there was no hand truck so we ended up paying for it.

We had multiple uhaul issues. First we reserved to get a hitch installed online. 7 days passed and less than 24 hours before our pick up time we received a call that the hitch for my particular vehicle doesn't exist yet. No solution was offered. Only to be refunded and cancel the reservation. We spoke to uhaul and get a truck (not our first choice since gas would be double). The truck pick up location didn't have a truck available. We had to be sent to the Powell location where the car wasn't even pulled out for us. No intro of the vehicle was provided and the $500 (newly quoted prove by the online agent offered for all the inconveniences) wasn't honored. The vehicle smelled like cigarettes. No one is my household has ever smoked cigarettes. Every issue we kept getting bounced around. No one seemed to be able to assist.

The guy did not tell us the refuel costs included a $30 charge on top of the price per gallon. Also, he did not mention the insurance that he added, which cost us another 14. I know these are probably in the contract, but give us a break on moving day! Moving sucks and uhaul makes it harder. And you have a pretty big monopoly on the rental truck market.

Online check-in was impossible to use. Website is not optimized for mobile, which is the device folks have to use to check-in online. I was not able to get it to register my location, despite having all correct settings enabled. Standing in the pouring rain fighting with a website not optimized for mobile was a terrible way to start my day. It was also absurd to have to pay more to check in at the counter when the website wouldn't function. Staff who checked me in was rude and kept pushing me to try to use the website, despite the fact I had tried, failed, and was then running extremely late. I work in software product management so when I say a UI is bad and hard to use, it is bad and hard to use. I would not recommend U-Haul because of this. If I had not been charged extra to just get into my rental on time I might reconsider using U-Haul again but after this experience I'll be avoiding U-Haul.

I had difficulty with the 24/7 online pickup. I went into the store there and the employees were both wonderful! I could not have logged in because I couldn't create an account with the setup. Apparently there was an update to the Uhaul online system that prevented me from being able to pick up the truck without assistance. U-Haul, your online reservation and after-hours pickup services are terrible. After reserving a van and planning to pick it before the location opened, I received an email telling me to go to the location, then "Sign in to your U-Haul Account," with a hyperlink. The next instruction was "Choose "Pick Up My Truck" from the account dashboard." THERE IS NO "PICK UP MY TRUCK" link on the page that the email linked to! I had to wait for the franchise to open to get my vehicle. Such an obvious design flaw. PLEASE FIX THIS.

I think the pre-ordered stuff should be in the truck. The first 19 mins of my reserved rental period was spent first looking for a truck which wasn't on the lot, then waiting for staff to load my requested items. Also, getting in to see 1/4 tank remaining and needing to first fill-up was not a good start to my day.

The whole mobile check in process was so confusing - they had to call two of my contacts to verify that I was going to take the truck. My sister and partner said the calls were so unprofessional and didn't even explain anything - so random. When I got in the truck, it had an oil change notice and I could see on the sticker that it was due for one weeks ago and/or over 2,000 miles ago which made me feel unsafe about driving the vehicle for the hundreds of miles I needed to that day. When I went to return the truck at the Powell location, three of us just sat there waiting for someone to come. The signs were super confusing because they say to stay in your vehicle and an attendant will be with you, next to a 24/7 drop off service sign. Turns out - they were closed and the 24/7 drop off service was self service through a random url. When I went to go check out online, I walked around the building twice looking for a place to drop off my keys and there was nothing. I saw that there were unlocked lock boxes with two other keys in them, so I decided to put my keys in there and hope for the best. Because they were closed there was no one I could reach for support. At 7am this morning I got a call from their office in a panic that they couldn't find the keys. I explained where I left them and that the whole process was super unsafe and confusing and I couldn't believe the truck was still there and hadn't been stolen overnight. They kind of shrugged it off, and then said I would be getting another phone call. Then a receipt was emailed to me just now....with no phone call. I'm assuming they located the keys? This was just such a messy process and not informing me made me feel like I was the one at fault and would become liable for this faulty service structure with little to no information about drop off. I will not be using this location again.

Gas is frequently siphoned from the vehicles at this location. My rental van was listed as having half a tank. When I arrived at the vehicle the gas cap was dangling out the side of the van and the tank was empty. The attendant told me to fill the vehicle and promised I would be reimbursed for a quarter tank at the price they would charge me. The estimates claimed that 5.5 gallons would reach 1/4 tank in the 31 gallon van gas tank. However, it required 12 gallons to reach 1/4 tank. Despite having receipts when the rental was over I was only reimbursed for 6 gallons of gas. The whole experience was pretty bad. Thankfully the vehicle worked long enough for me to make my short trip. However, it ended up costing me more time and money than it should have, and more than what was advertised due to having to incur the gas expense. Be ready for nonsense if you are renting from here.

The Powell location and staff are fine. The truck I rented was fine. The after hours service by uhaul.com and 1-800-go-uhaul are rubbish. U-Haul.com is a terrible user experience for attempting to return a truck after hours, the location requirement makes it impossible to complete the workflow and the help docs do not help at all. I should be able to return the truck without location services working on my phone, but there is no path for that on uhaul.com. Phoning 1-800 go-uhaul resultied in a 48 minute wait to talk to a delightful individual who could not do a thing to help me. What a lousy customer experience, made worse by a charge for the after hours return that was not mentioned by the staff who said it would be "no problem" when I suggested I'd return the truck after the 7pm closing (also was not mentioned in my online reservation). Long story short: The individuals and truck I interacted with were fine, the rest of my experience was insulting.

My rental van was totally out of gas when I collected it. Luckily I noticed this just after getting on the Highway & was able to get off & fill it before getting too far along on my trip. ... Issue with truck ignition getting the key to work. I topped off fuel before returning and return attendant said we were all good and I would receive my receipt via email. Once I received the email it showed a charge of 6 gallons of fuel. Tried calling the location but kept getting send directly to the corporate line which I waited on hold for over 30 minutes before hanging up. Tried the online chat, and was told a manager would be reaching out to resolve. I'm still waiting to here back.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience using uhaul. First of all, the app was not working. We tried it on both an IPhone and an android and it was freezing, timing out, and more. The trucks back lights would not turn on for the spirometer so you couldn't see the gauge and the truck would get stuck in first gear. We went to drop the truck off after closing time and the APP wouldn't let us move past “take a picture” every time we took a picture of the truck to show we dropped it off, it would bring us back into “take a picture” and we literally couldn't move past that. So we couldn't drop the truck off using the app or a person since no one was there. We tried calling the uhaul customer service line and were on hold for 20 minutes.

This whole set up is garbage and will soon be illegal. A national car rental service with no insurance wing and no real roadside service? How is this operating the same way in this day and age? I will get a free rental because my bank protects me from scams like this. Truck was broken down and not well maintained for long distance. Cabin is plastic and gross. The stickers and light up mpg display is fake. It's aftermarket and not indicating anything except “please put in a ton of gas and will act like we are green.” Rent at your own risk. I'll be leaving a better review with my lawyer and with the BBB It's a basic hustle to get non English speaking and poor people who don't know their rights to lose their hard earned money. Every “location” is more like a cheap mall kiosk than any type of service center. Everything they say is marketing bs. Roadside service? Call center in Midwest and India. Covered in an accident? Contract a dude who contacts a dude who knows a guy. This is drug hustling legal and above board for now. Can't wait to watch the FTC shred you guys to pieces. Go to the hell your type of scam art deserves.

Nobody at counter to check me in, walked out back and four employees sitting, one laying on the ground. I asked for help at the counter, one guy got rude and told me to be patient. Then laughing as I walked away. photographed them. After getting checked in, they forgot my dolly and furniture cart. The guy who told me to be patient followed me into the store and was saying some belligerent bs to me about my attitude, and in front of another customer who had no idea what was going on. They made the counter girl bring it out even though there were three receivers there. No explanation of protocol. Followed the link to verify damages, the photos were clearly not the same paneling. I tried uploading photos but the site wouldn't take them.
