Pickup Location - Didn't provide carts nor all the blankets that were ordered. They also did not tell me about how much gas was in the truck. A windshield scraper for the snow would have been useful as well.

Hady Tarek GhoneimWe rented a uhaul from kenmount road location. When we were checking out our truck, the associate mentioned truck insurance and me and my roommate opted into the insurance. We had a conversation about saying how the insurance was a good idea because a tire alone is $300 so we should pay the $16 now rather than possible having to dish out more for damages to the vehicle. We had the truck over night so when we’re done with the truck last night we locked the doors. The next morning we tried opening the doors and the key went into the door but it didn’t turn. We call the kenmount road location and we were just told to call the road side assistance number but that this service wouldn’t be included. We asked why this service wasn’t included because we opted into the insurance on to the truck. The associate told use since we didn’t opt into the $5 insurance fee the service wasn’t included. My roommate and I were not aware of this fee because nobody had mentioned it to us. We asked if we could pay the fee now but he said no it had to been paid within 15 minutes of the service. We are very unsatisfied by the lack of communication with your associate and customer. We asked if someone could come down as see without a charge and we were just told “it’s busy” and “I would just try the key the same way you guys are.” Since we are a paying customer who wasn’t aware of the insurance fee it was very disheartening to know that we didn’t do anything wrong but still would’ve had to dish out another hundred dollars because the associate didn’t make his customers aware of the insurance fees

Chris CollinsHad a reservation for Sunday and changed it to Monday due to the weather on Sunday. I went there on Monday morning to pick up the keys to give to my driver..... That is when i started to receive the worst customer service I have ever received. First, I was not allowed in the building even though i had a reservation. the agent asked "Do you have a reservation, I gave him the name on the reservation and he closed the door to check. I had to wait out in the cold, then was told I could not just pick up the keys and had to remove the van from the property, informed him it would be for about an hour. Which we have done many times in several locations before. When my employee came to the office I took him to get the van, the same employee .. Lucky Me. checked me in, and told me the van was out front; first, we had to find the van then we had to clear it off and get it out of the snow. We had the van booked for 2 days, to return on Wednesday, February 21. I returned the van after a couple of hours and booked a van from Enterprise. I have to say this had to be one of the worst customer services I received in a long time, not sure if it was due to lack of staff or its just the way the company operates. Overall not impressed.

Mark HawcoThere should be a little spot (even just 2-3 spots) on the same premises so customers can park their car and leave it for the day while they are using the Uhaul (stating that Uhaul is not responsible for the vehicle on site, but having the option) so that customers do not have to park elsewhere and then walk to the building (if by themselves). Otherwise it was perfect!

Truck cab, filled with smoke because engine started to smoke; hazardous smoke filled cab while driving which made the trip very dangerous, thus had a poor experience. Assistant manager created a unpleasant environment, is very unfriendly, an attitude adjustment is required. His demeanor and appearance conveys unwelcoming undertones while coming off as potentially being under the influence of drugs. He should not interact with customers. To improve the experience, ensure equipment is properly maintained and operationally safe; Have a welcoming environment by providing interactions conducted with professionalism.

Peyman BahramiAll my belongings were infested with rodent droppings. Most everything I owned was donated. No lighting!!! I was there many times and was told the lights were motion detector lights. I had to sort through my boxes using the light from my cell phone. I went there 1 evening. The guy locked the facility before I had a chance to lock my unit. He knew I was there putting something in my car. And the aggressive notice I received when I had a late payment was totally unacceptable. Perhaps a phone call asking if everything was ok and when I could make payment would be more appropriate. This will be my one and only time storing with U-Haul

I know previous customers may not fill up the tank like they should, but perhaps the staff could top off the tank before a new customer gets the vehicle. Thank you for your excellent service!

I was Ok with it but couldn't do it because I wasn't allowed parking I have rented so many times in US.and never had issue.of parking

Jacob EarleThe cargo van I rented had no snow brush or ice scraper. In Newfoundland, in January, those are essential when driving. During the time I had the van it was very icy and I needed to blast the windshield with heat continually to try and keep the windshield clear of ice. Thus I used far more fuel than I should have. My experience was ok other than that. Overall, not impressed. It’s the attention to details that make a service outstanding. Keep trying.

Peter HumbyService was excellent at the pick up location. I have one major concern regarding the truck. The tires were totally useless in snow and given that we are part of the snow belt, I felt very nervous driving the truck on snow covered roads. Also got stuck at my destination and it was no fun backing a truck down a hill and trying to turn around. The trucks should not be rented without rear snow tires.

A few suggestions for improvement: It would be good for the website to show the proper times for accessing the storage units that are inside the building. I'm not sure if the website says that there are no elevators in the building and that storage units on the upper level will require using a short flight of stairs but if not, this would be good to mention too (it wasn't an issue for me but some people might find it a problem). Finally, it would be helpful to have more detailed instructions and signage on where to go to access the loading bay.

A few weeks later the weather got warmer and humid. Everything got wet in our unit and we had to move everything to another facility. We were not told of this condensation problem when we moved in to the unit. If we had been, we would not have stored our belongings there.

The unit we have now (800) has gapping opening where siding from the building it bowed outward, told the front counter and was informed they cannot do anything with it until the unit is empty even though it can easily be filled/ pushed back in with enough force.

A few points that could be improved on: 1) when I initially signed in I was told the billing would be automatic on my credit card. This wasn’t the case and I was charged for non payment on the second month. 2) only one of the two loading bay doors was usable. The second was consistently blocked with uhaul equipment. This caused some congestion with myself and other tenants. Overall, I’m very pleased with my experience however. It was easy to do business with you and I felt my belongings were safe and secure in your facility. Thank you!

I have been a client of Uhaul self storage at this location for one year now, I acquired 2 units in January 2021 upon a sudden move to Ontario. At that time, I received 110% Great Customer Service from one employee (I am unsure of his name but he has dark hair, stands about my height 5”9, average build, has the voice of a tv host or radio show host… I feel you could distinguish him by this comment) however, this guy is your guy if you need every spec of information you need or will ever want to need about storage or anything else you ask in the Uhaul area. Very much an asset to the store on Kenmount. Back to Mr. Mackey though … I had called to speak to him last week due to a late payment on both units for over one month. Mr. Mackey returned my call and left me messages until he reached me with a number I had left for him. When we did get in touch I explained my recent car accident on December 3rd which caused my delay in my payments, and how I was just now getting back to myself and getting my finances straightened up. Taken back by my unfortunate events these past 2 months he informed me of my extra charges, and late fees along with my total of both units. But while doing so, he was able to remove a total of $30. With a credit payment over $700 I was about to make, at this point minus $30 fee to some wouldn’t seem to lighten the day. The unit was full floor to roof of my mother’s possessions that she was forced to store after my fathers death and having to sell her home. We lost more than half of our items due to water damage and mold. It took weeks and weeks of our/her time to sort through the mess. The employees of the kenmount road location, were as helpful as possible, but we were told uhaul as a company did not offer any assistance under their insurance. This should not have happened. Water came in through both the ceiling and the floor. The items and memories that have been lost due to an insecure unit is heartbreaking.
