Richard EWe put 27 miles on the truck, but were charged for 4 gallons of gas at $5 per gallon. When we received the truck, there was less than 1/4 tank of gas. We weren't told that we'd be charged $5 per gallon, or that we'd be charged for 4 gallons when we used less than 2 gallons. Had we known, we would have put 2 gallons in the tank before returning it.

ANDREW HMy experience with the Plymouth location and customer service was good overall. The process on the other hand was handled very poorly and unprofessionally! My initial booking was made in Buffalo. The reservation was then changed to Elk River due to a maintenance issue with the trailer, which is understandable. The issue I had with this change was that I was only sent an email telling me that my location had been changes, no communication asking me if this would still work for me. The next day, the day before my move, the location was changed again to Coon Rapids, an hour and a half away from where I live and where I was moving my son from. I believe someone may have tried to call me for this location change, but I was unable the get the call and no message was left. The size of the trailer was also changed several times due to lack of availability, which is understandable, but the last change was due to overbooking. These changes were made again without notification. I have rented with U-Haul in the past and had decent experiences with each of my rentals. This experience however, made the stressful situation of moving even worse, not knowing what size trailer I would have, where I had to go to get it, or even if I would get a trailer. I am not sure I will be able to trust U-Haul for my future rental needs and probably will not be able to recommend your services to others. I would feel bad being the reason someone else had to go through the same experience I had with this process. Please review your rental and communication processes so your customers do not have added stress to an already stressful process. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

I explained to him that when doing business with people there is a level of professionalism that he must maintain, and his response to that was the most antagonistic smile with no verbal response. He made the business transaction very hostile and uncomfortable for me if I could change locations of my storage space I would in a heartbeat.

Douglas FI realize an open trailer in MN in the winter is a tough thing to manage, but the fellow’s lame attempt at clearing snow and ice wasn’t what you would call well done. My boxes got wet while the snow and ice melted in the uhaul storage area while I unloaded onto carts. I could have used a tarp on the bottom of the trailer, so I got what I deserved, too.

Most of the time people are disinterested and unwilling to go be helpful and provide anything beyond the basics of showing up. BUT that was not the case and my experience at this location. The facility was clean and well maintained. The layout of the equipment was well organized making getting in and out a breeze. The best part of my experience was the people. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Definitely a throw back to a time when employees cared you gave them your business. Specifically I would like to highlight Jacob. He went out of his way to make sure I understood everything about the storage facility and what I needed to know returning my truck. He even helped me with directions to the nearest gas station. As someone who worked in retail management these were the kind of employees I loved to steal away and build my business full of. He is an “A” player and I sure hope he is recognized as such. Overall I would 100% use U Haul & Storage of Plymouth in the future and will recommend anyone else I know to do so as well. Thanks to the team for a great experience and I’ll be seeing them again soon!!

There was already a free lock in the unit when we opened it, and they couldn't figure out how to give me a refund on the lock for about an hour while we unloaded. It was a time drain and a headache. 2. There is a large container of rat poison in the storage unit with drippy liquid on top of it - GROSS and unsafe! And there is bird droppings outside our unit on the floor (so birds can poop into our unit from the open ceiling) 3. But the worse part is that it was not explained that this is an ABOVE GROUND UNIT and can only be reached with portable stairs - super difficult and inconvenient!!! We struggled to get our heavy furniture into the unit, and we regret getting this unit to begin with. Bad experience, and we will be looking for a different facility.

Norman F | Overall ExperienceIf I could give a negative review I would. I literally had NOTHING go right with UHaul other than the truck was actually there when we picked it up. Of course it didn't have gas, NO moving blankets, No 2 wheeler. Our packing supplies we ordered only the boxes showed up, no packing tape, bubble wrap, or any of the other smaller items ordered to move... I called to have them looked into and resent. NEVER did receive them. Had 10 people there to move here and we were still running to the sore getting more supplies to finish the kitchen. Getting someone to talk to on this was HORRIFIC!!! Kinda hard to move when you have to go out several times to get the product you ordered and it never came. Then the other thing that I thought was crappy is that I bought 2 padlocks in Custer, SD to lock the truck and put on the storage units. I found out they have to be a certain kind of padlock. NOWHERE does it tell you this. I am really disappointed with UHaul and would never recommend them to anyone. Not sure how they have stayed in business this long, but I will use any other company for the second half of my move OTHER THAN UHaul.

The things that could be improved upon are that they have U-Boxes that are 2x the size that they are and a way to track where your boxes are in the delivery process...especially to another state.
