TED MIt really is very expensive. When you think about a one-way trip for a half a day's travel at $600 that's a bunch. I am a regular customer moving kids all around the country but sometime you get very expensive by the end of the day just to have help in moving your personal belongings. The people were great the cost is too high

TED MI’m there should be an in between answer option for some of these questions. The facility is infested with Japanese Stink Bugs which they should do something about. I brought a few unknowingly and unwillingly with me, hidden amongst some of my belongings. My unit was in the top floor. When I went to pick up and move out it was raining outside - apparently inside too. My unit had at least two leaks coming from a leaky roof. It was obvious they were old, ongoing leaks considering one leak was next to a metal beam that was rusting. I took plenty of pictures. I immediately called down to let the manager know about both issues. She replied “The bugs have been here since I’ve been here” and to two of my boxes being soaked “Did you get insurance?” EXCUSE ME?!? How about y’all maintain your building/property!!! I shouldn’t need insurance from things being damaged because y’all can’t repair a roof!! WHY was I paying $150 to has CLIMATE CONTROLLED storage when you can keep the weather out?? Not to mention paying a 50% late fee and getting the same rude manager on the phone when I tried to discuss that with someone in your office?!? I have a new unit where I moved and it HALF what I paid at your place. So, can I say it was a terrible experience? Yes, 100% I can with these issues just stated. Was it all the time? No, most of the time it was okay and not obvious issues. Then again how often does one hang out at their storage unit? Tondra, the manager I spoke of, has ZERO business working in customer service PERIOD. And please, I do not need her to call me again with her insincere apologies. She was rude on the phone a couple of months prior and when I was angry at the party who came with me she also decided she was getting involved with that too. Threatening me with not letting me lease the truck - even after it had been paid for. Telling me I was calling her names when all I did was tell my party that she was being over reactive. Also your policies on your website don’t match up with what she said I had to do. I’m guessing, since she wanted to make my day even tougher, the website would be the correct procedure and not what she said. I was extremely happy to get my items out of this place. Was the overall okay, yes. All your other employees seemed to be professional, accommodating and courteous.

TED MMy truck was a 26 footer but old and I could not go over 30 m/h. The roof was leaking and damaged some of my boxes. I was not happy when my pick up location was changed and I was told I have no choice and would pay for the additional milage. I had insurance and will file a claim. I was not happy with the truck's condition plus it rained all day.

Anita RI selected to do the mobile pickup, but when I arrived the online version wouldn't allow me to add in my birthdate and gave me a run around. Thankfully the location was open on Sunday and the two gentlemen working were quick to help me complete the process inside. Quick and easy, truck was the perfect size and checking back in was a breeze as well thanks to the help of the staff. Will definitely rent from here again in the future!

Josephine MSummary: Choose another U-Haul place to rent from if you can. If you have a problem, be sure to record the interaction for your records. Be prepared for rude customer service that will speak down to you like a child and gaslight you. I rented a truck and did a mobile check-in at this location. I had an issue after getting through about 90% of the check-in process so I went inside and asked for help. They must've finished the process for me, since I was given keys afterwards and didn't have to sign any additional paperwork. I drove home and spent the rest of the day loading my truck. When I went to drive it to my new house the next morning, I noticed the tank was 1/4 full. Every U-Haul I've rented before requires you to check that the tank is on full before you leave the lot and return it on full (I found out later that depends on the location though), so I called the store once I got to my new location. When I told them that the tank was only 1/4 full, the manager (not sure if that's her title, but she's the highest-up for that location) said that's something I should've told them before I left. I told her that I was never told to check the gas gauge and I was simply given the keys. I *DISTINCTLY REMEMBER* that she told me that I needed to return the truck on full and we could 'see what we could do' once I got back because she was talking to another customer when I called. That's fine. I spent $130 filling the tank before I returned the truck ($160 in gas total) for 89 miles driven total. She must've left for the day because someone else checked it in. After I explained the situation, the guy said he'd put the contract on hold and let his manager handle it. A few days later, I was charged the full rate. I called the location when I got that notification and must've been forwarded to the U-Haul call center (probably because it was early and the location was closed). I explained my situation and got a call back about an hour later from the manager and she was EXTREMELY rude and condescending the whole call. Apparently I'd filed in a complaint against her when I talked to the call center and she must've not liked that. She *cursed under her breath* multiple times and spoke down to me the whole call. I told her that I didn't appreciate the way that I was being spoken to and she gave me a non-apology and continued to be abrasive. I tried to calm down the call by saying that I understand she's probably having to juggle a bunch of things on top of having to deal with this situation but that I hope she could see how it was frustrating on my end as well. It didn't help. She said that there's no way she would've said that I needed to return the tank on full even though I'm SURE she did and I had another witness to the call that heard the same thing. I asked her if I only needed to return the truck on 1/4 full, why say on the call when I reported the issue that I should've told y'all it wasn't on full before I left? She didn't answer and said that I should've seen what I should return the fuel at on the paperwork, but I wasn't given any paperwork because I did a mobile check-in and had to have them help me. She ended up offering only $60 in credit for the fuel, effectively making the whole trip a whopping 3.1 MPG ($100/28.5gal in gas for 89 miles driven). I definitely wouldn't use this U-Haul location again. If anyone from U-Haul is reading this, here are the times for the calls in question. - Aug 31st at 12:44PM (I called to explain that the gas was 1/4 full when I got it and only noticed when I went to leave the next morning). - Sept 4 at 10:00AM (the manager called me after I got automatically forwarded to the call center earlier that day and unknowingly made a complaint against her)

The manager Pondra, on the other hand, was the complete opposite experience. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and I was shocked when she told me she was the manager. I was so disgusted with her attitude and behavior that I cancelled my moving truck reservation, and cancelled my storage unit with no backup plans even though I had to be vacated from my residence in 2 days. I have never experience such unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. On top of it all...she had a trainee with her! I will never do business with her or uhaul again after that experience.

It was like they just pulled in and parked there in the middle of the road so the didn’t have to walk down?? I couldn’t get up that way to my unit, instead I had to go in the front door which isn’t a big deal it just took me a little bit longer so I think I was about two minutes late getting out.

I stuck it out during the pandemic when I was not working for almost a year because I stored my business materials (team building) there even though I never needed them and was making no income. Charge new people more when they rent, leave excellent renter rates alone. I would've stayed for a few more years as my business improved but the last 7% raise was too much. So I'm gone. You lost an easy $1800 a year for a $120 a year raise.

When I first came to Uhaul the manager at that time was helpful, friendly, and made my move in a good experience. When I left management changed and it was the most horrible experience I have had, the manager was rude, lazy and all around made Uhaul look bad. I have always looked at Uhaul as a class storage company but after dealing with her it gives the impression of The lowest class storage company. She spoke as if she was from the lowest educated part of Atlanta and treated me as if I was not important. Not only that but when I moved out she did not want to do her job and complete my move out which resulted in being charged the following month and I had to go through a lot just to prove I moved out to get my refund which I did and received my refund after a week. And yet again she fail to do her job once move and left me in her system again and they debit my account the following month as well when I called to have them refund my money and remove me from their system she spoke to me as if I was bothering her and even told me not to call there again as if she did not care I was over charged once again. I am stilling waiting on that refund as of today. I will never use your company again and have made it clear to all my social media followers that if they want good service any other company is better than yours. I know I have personally help 5 of my friends find other companies so they could move their belongings from Uhaul to a better company. I always have a lot of friends and business associates in the property management world who I have expressed my concerns with regarding your company and with your prices increasing and never being the better price in the first place they have also decided to discontinue referring clients to Uhaul. I hope this feedback helps make major changes to your company so that one day you can once again be seen as a class A storage facility.
