Have better communication within your company. I had to drive to 2 locations to drop off the truck. No one would accept the return. Kept telling me that I was at the wrong location and wanted 1500 dollars to accept the truck!

Melissa RuckerA couple of days prior to picking up our moving truck my husband received an offer text from U-haul asking us to move a trailer to the Nashville location since U-Haul needed trailers in that location. We were advised we would not be charged for the trailer and that we would get $100 off our truck rental when we dropped off truck & trailer in Nashville. When we arrived at pickup truck and trailer in Millard, Ne location they charged my husband for the trailer. We called the pickup location and spoke with the manager he said that was corporate U-Haul that made that deal with us and we needed to deal with them vs him calling corporate on our behalf. On our move to Nashville the next morning we called corporate. They advised we should have never been charged for the trailer and that when we arrived in Nashville we should be refunded 107.00 for trailer and $100 off truck. When we arrived in Nashville to drop off the truck and trailer we were given the same treatment and that they knew nothing of the $207.00 refund and that we needed to deal with corporate again vs them calling corporate on our behalf and handling it. When I called corporate she advised they would need to investigate wether we were due a refund in-spite of it being documented by corporate and we got a text from them two days earlier saying we were due a $207.00 refund. It really felt like bait & switch and if corporate is making these deals they should be communicating with their franchises and the franchise locations should be providing better customer service and looking into things vs you are on your own to deal with corporate. Customers be aware if they offer you a deal to transport one of their pieces of equipment, I would not recommend you do it. It cost us extra money in gas to transport their trailer but also much more difficult making your 15 foot moving truck more like 30 foot which is virtually impossible to back up at any point. This trip took us four hours longer with the trailer attached since top speed with trailer is only 55 mph

David WallaceThe location is very confusing. No sign showing where to check in except for a hand written note on the 3rd door we went to. The lady checking us in was eating a burrito and chips for breakfast while checking us in and on her personal phone. We rented the truck for 12 hours and you could not check out the truck until they opened at 9am. We were not informed we would be charged a late fee if we did not return the truck during normal business hours which were 9am til 5pm. I am not sure how that is 12 hours. We rush and showup and 5:01 on the lot to return the truck and there is no sign anyone had been there for a while other than the homeless people on the lot next to one of the trucks. I do not mind paying for the rental rate and the mileage which I agreed to but the late fee is what has turned me against Uhaul and will share this experience with anyone who ask and all my contacts.

Arthur SwitzerWe were told to drive the equipment down a steep drop to a sidewalk and over a curb to leave since it was blocked in by another truck. The equipment had a different license plate than the paperwork originally said. I think this was corrected, but only after I had verified photos of the wrong equipment. It was just a weird experience.

JASMINE GREENWhen we arrived, the life was only one employee. He motioned for us to stay back as he looked around for a key hidden outside. When he opened (late), the garage was ice cold and he was sealing through a heavy scarf making him hard to understand. He was unable to input our information into the computer and had to call his supervisor. After logging in he was able to add a second person to our record. Check in took over 20 minutes. After that very thing went smoothly. Equipment was fine, but training needs to be improved.

Tameka HairstonThe Uhaul truck was given to us with a check engine light on and what we later found out was a broken passenger mirror that would not stay in place as it was internally cracked. We were driving this truck from Nashville, TN to Steamboat, CO, and added 2 full more days to our trip then planned to try to correct these issues due to safety. We had called roadside and customer services multiple times each day and had to stop in Kansas City and in Denver, CO overnight in an attempt to seek assistance from Uhaul to correct these issues. The mirror was not able to be fixed and due to the holidays and weekend, the parts store was not open so we either had to get an entirely new truck or drive over the Colorado Rockies with a broken mirror - roadside assistance jerry-rigged the mirror so that we could somewhat see and it wouldn't move out of place and cleared the engine light however the engine light came back shortly after. We had to pay high prices for hotels that were not planned due to this and it was Thanksgiving weekend so rates were higher. I've always had great experiences with Uhaul but this experience for a cross-country move was below average. It's been about a week since the Customer Action File was created and Uhaul has still not reached out and instead keep saying to wait additional days to hear form them.
Natalia PodolskyParking lot is muddy. Attendant had to work out of her car and complete the reservation on her phone. No office setup. The truck had mud all inside. Blankets were all over the place inside the back of the truck and completly soaked from previous user or rain and the truck leaking down the front, left corner. Upon return, the only option to keep from getting charged for these issues, was to check myself in after explaining the condition of the truck upon arrival for pickup and drop off.

My experience at this location was great but I am disappointed in the fact that I reserved a truck for the main st location and they didn’t assign any equipment to it so I had to sit on the phone and try to find another location for a truck. Because of this I was behind schedule because it was my moving day. Unacceptable

TIFFANY CLEMONSThe truck's check engine light was on. The employee never told me I had to return it to the same location so I was charged over $200 because he failed to release this information. He didn’t know where the U-Haul was when he gave me the key or try to show me. It was blocked in and my boyfriend had to go ask for him to move it because he says “they don’t get the truck for you and bring it out front”. A female manager came up to us with him smoking a cigarette. It was very unprofessional and overall not a good experience.

Scott JutteAlready spoke to a customer service rep but the man helping me made several comments through my renting the truck about wanting to “fuck me” and making comments on the way I looked. He told me the only vehicle like what I had reserved that they had available had a stripper pole in it. So if I wanted to strip I could rent it. Continued to make inappropriate comments and curse during the time I was there. Talked to a coworker about going to fuck someone after work. All of this happened while a man with a general manager shirt stood less than 5 feet away. The vehicle I rented smelled like weed as well.
