The representative who gave me the keys and pointed to where I might find the truck didn't care at all about my concerns. Of course, she said, there was nothing she could do about it -- she said ALL of the trucks have excessively high miles on them and look like they have been through multiple wars. I heard several times how often your trucks get stolen. Not my problem, but sounds like that is a main reason your fleet is not new enough for me ever again.

This is my other favorite UHaul to rent from. The general manager at this location previously ran my favorite location, and I was happy to see some of his staff came with him to this location. They always perform the safety checks, ensure I have all additional supplies and services I might need, and provide well maintained equipment. The staff is friendly, welcoming and as helpful as possible. It's a very busy location, and they place an emphasis on safety on the lot to ensure no accidents occur. On this visit, a newer employee was learning the computer system and I was so impressed by the patience of the lead employee (a lady, but I don't remember her name) at assisting, while allowing the newer employee to learn the process as well. We've all been at a new job learning system processes, and having been involved with training it can be difficult not to just jump in - I was so impressed that they fostered a positive learning environment, and treated the newer staff with respect and kindness. The efforts they make to keep the equipment clean, neat, and well maintained show.

Truck was jerking into gear like the transmission was going to go out. My card was charged $50 with no reason nor receipt of the charges. The 2 female employees were very pleasant and polite. However the older man I believe Eric was very rude and unpleasant.

This location has the worst customer experience. Front desk was unboxing pallets of boxes and told me to wait until her was done like I’m on his time. What an actual incompetent. The trailer was full of grease and you get it in your hands by touching anything from the handle to the siding. Trash.

The lady at the store was rude. She was eating and watching something on her phone as I walked and proceeded to do the same while she helped me. My truck was supposed to be ready at 8:30am and at the time I was there it was still be checked back in from another reservation. It took nearly 20 minutes before I received the key to the truck. I was then told my truck was outside. No specifics were given so I assumed it was right in front. It was not causing me to have to waste time walking around the lot looking for the truck. When I finally found the truck I opened the back to see if the dolly was there that I rented. It was not. I spoke to the male at the store who was outside on another task and he said oh those aren’t in the truck, you have to grab one from up front yourself to which I said nobody told me that. I didn’t finally pull out of the parking lot with the truck until 9:05am which I had paid hourly movers waiting on me. I did ask Johan for a number to voice complaints at which he told me there wasn’t one. This store needs a lesson in customer service. I never even requested this location but my order was sent to them.

I was greeted with an order to move my car before anyone wanted to hear why I was there. I was told to park in their lot as far as possible from the office. The check out process was marked by complete disinterest y the staff. I was directed to do everything on the app and was handed a stack of paper without any words. I will never return.

It was EXTREMELY RUDE black lady at the register, when I asked a question about the additional charge, she started arguing with me, instead of simply explaining what is it about. I've been reserving 2 dollys, but neither was in the store; she arrogantly explained - ‘First come, first served’… She was so rude and obnoxious and someone needs to have a serious conversation with her.

I have used Uhaul rental for years both personally & business. Johann handles customers in a business manner. Noone else in the office is courteous or professional. I understand staffing is a issue across the country. But your front office is what customers remember the most. And word of mouth especially with the advent of social media can increase or decrease business.

I was told that the truck I rented gets regular inspections after each customer . When I was in the parking lot the truck front hood was lifted for about 20 mins no one looked at the truck hit for the mileage . A woman was there attending the truck but didn’t do anything physically to the truck to see if there anything wrong . No pictures were taken to show anything wrong and if it was clean . I would only recommend the storage units and not the vehicle until there proper inspections and thorough inspections thanks

I had a very good customer service experience at both the beginning and the end of my “stay.” Yesterday, when I went to move out, my storage unit was blocked by a trailer behind a parked truck. There were a couple of guys working in the yard, and they very cheerfully got the truck moved, and then moved the trailer away. Teamwork plus friendliness.

I got there and when I was greeted I handed the employee my phone which was my reservation email. For 5 to 10 minutes I was denied and told that there was no truck available eventually. Then I had to explain that I was renting a storage unit. Seem like the girl helping me needed assistance in every step of the process which made it quite drawn out. The girl that helped her was very nice. Everything else was a positive experience thanks..

There is a hole in the ceiling of the unit. But they didn't have another one that size. I was concerned that it could leak in the unit but the salesperson stated that it didn't leak inside.. so I took her word for it and prayed the rest of the ceiling doesn't fall in

I am not upset about anything specifically at the facility. Employees were nice, units looked fine, hence the positive review. The only problem I had (which was a major problem that caused me to look for storage elsewhere) was that the uhaul website advertised this location as climate controlled, and it is not. This was a major factor and I found storage elsewhere.

The only concern I have is safety for my things because there is no gate and the other concern I have is that there are mice. My first storage unit had a ton of droppings in it and the mouse trap put inside wasn’t filled w mouse poison. The other unit also didn’t have any mouse poison in the bait trap. It was quickly rectified by your staff but I’m hoping mice do not destroy my couch and other items. Other than that the staff was really nice and inside the store was very clean.

Toni was amazing! She was knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. She should have a golf cart to run to check units. She literally has to run to 3 different units to ensure I had proper size to accommodate my belongings. She was courteous and caring to ensure I had everything I needed. She should be manager or be training staff. She deserves recognition for her outstanding level of customer service! She was just as good with other customers before me.

Honestly probably some of the worst customers service I’ve had. I wait for an hour and a half for him to help put a lock on my unit the lock he didn’t tell me I had to by when I came in 10am that morning as well as he didn’t give me the lock to lock up our truck. I had to come in a second time to get everything I needed and waited over an hour for something as simple as lock. I called earlier in the day to see if it was okay to park our uhaul there overnight which he agreed we got there and he gave us a spot then walked away came back two minutes later and said actually don’t park here they’ll steal parts off the truck and told us to park at Walmart even though he parked us surrounded by trucks and we called ahead to approve. End up being late to work when there was a 2 hour window; didn’t have anything I needed for the units; as well as the guy just being unhelpful

Autumn on Monticello and Chris on Taby went above and beyond to help me. Chris had 5 or 6 people wanting him or call for him or waiting in line and he was amazing. He started focused, kind, patient and professional. I was so impressed with his multitasking abilities. There was a young lady there training and she jumped right in and helped every way she could. You have amazing people working for you here in Norfolk VA.
