Better communication. I chose a location walking distance to the rental. It was changed by uhaul at the last moment and I had to walk 6 miles. I expected to drop the truck and complete the rental at 8:45pm but the gas station was closed and had to return the keys the next dayDerek B.

I had the worst experience with Your company. I booked a 20 foot moving van 90 days ago and I got called the day before and was told there are no moving vans available in South Carolina of that length. My daughter had already driven to Savannah to give me a ride back to Charleston and I was only told I could get a 15 foot. Then they told me I could get a 26 foot which I thought was too big but I took it in Ridgeland. When I got there apparently the 26 foot van was broken so all that was available was a 15 foot. I was stressed out and really upset about the whole situation. Eric Chancely Was the agent that helped me. He provided an additional 10 foot trailer and was very kind and empathetic of my situation. I could not believe how great the service was at his location. He is an amazing asset to your company and I am stunned that he was able to turn me around and make me want to do business with you again after the horrible experience I had. You're lucky to have him. I was grateful that he was there to help me. All of my grades of excellence in the survey are related to him and not the overall experience that I had with your company.Fred E.
I picked up the small box truck and agreed and paid for a 1 way rental and drop off. The truck had an air conditioner unit in the back when I picked it up. When I dropped off the truck, I was told I had to return it to the original location and take back the AC unit. I did neither nor am I paying for a "return fee".Jason G.
This was without a doubt the worst rental experience I have ever been through, whether with U-Haul or a direct competitor. The person in charge of renting me the truck was extremely rude and unprofessional.. we waited for over an hour and a half for our rental process to even begin, even though we pre-registered online. The renter was completely unprofessional and caused my wife to leave the building in tears due to aggressive and confrontational behavior. Not to mention incompetenceâ€¦ I ended up filling out my own rental form behind the counter and processing the payment myself which, to add another grievance, was not a correct invoice. The truck we had reserved online was unavailable when we arrived due to mechanical issues, so we ended up receiving a much smaller truck and were charged for a larger one. I have a dispute running through my bank for that charge. And to top it all off, there was no one there to receive us when we attempted to return the rental, even though I had double-checked beforehand the return time and was early. I ended up leaving the keys in the vehicle and sending pictures to the renter with a time stamp. I was so overwhelmed by the entire experience, which was the last thing I needed on a hectic moving day. I will absolutely not recommend them to anyone for any reason.Morgan M.

Woman who accepted the equipment was rude and hateful. When told I wanted to drop off the equipment she told me that unless I parked it myself, I needed to go somewhere else. She became angry and cussed at me. Was confrontational from the beginning. I have never been cussed at and treated so poorly as I have been here. I WILL NEVER USE U-Haul AGAIN !!!!!MICHAEL M.

The return was a nightmare with the owner/proprietor insisting I could not leave the trailer there. She along with two of her employees spent the entirety of my visit yelling to me that I couldn't do what I was directed by U-Haul to do, I left the trailer, she did not check me out, needed to call U-Haul to complete. I returned the truck an trailer promptly on time an the lady didn't check it in until 3 days later an I was charged 3 day late fee of $202.00 Erick( field manager) put in for $150 back but haven't received that yet. Inwill NEVER use this drip off location again. I got the runaround from U-Haul until I called the 800 U-Haul #. Went to the drop off location an woman on duty called the manage an she would talk to me or allow me to call her. Manger also said phone doesn't work an you cannot call that location. They shouldn't be allowed to be a drop off location. Eric was Supposingly left a message to call me an I have pictures of the drop off an timestamp as I felt uncomfortable at this location. This place is horrible. I called uhaul and opened a complaint against them and it's been a week and no one has called me. I always used uhaul in the past but probably won't again. The agent was poorly trained in that she didn't know how to work the program to print the rental contract. Additionally , her customers service skills were not on display if she had any. She was rude and condescending. After I returned the rental which was the same day I get a call from U-HAUL requesting I return the unit.A O G.

They were not ready when I went to pick up. They recorded the mileage wrong and I had to pay for about 65 miles that I did not drive. There was no one there to check me in at 3:30 in the afternoon. All in all I may think twice before using uhaul again.James B.

When I got to this location I was told there was no one to check me in. It was raining and as I unhooked the trailer, a lady named Niskso yelled at me that I had to put it back further. I continued to unhook with the intention of rolling it back by hand. She returned and yelled that if I did not do what she said she would not check me in. I pushed the trailer back where she wanted in the rain and went in and talked to a lady named Liz. I have made numerous phone calls to be sure it got checked in It was checked in on 2/11 even though I dropped it on 2/6/20. I will never use that location again. While the pick up location was excellent the drop off was terrible.James B.

So we made the reservation a few days in advanced, and then we went to the place to pick it up today (also had no phone call or anything to confirm my reservation). We did the mobile 24/7 thing to pick it up. We completed everything and the phone said to show the next screen to a person inside the building for the key. When we did that, I showed the lady the screen and another lady jumped in and harrassingly yelled at my wife and told her that "that phone doesn't mean anything, you aren't in our system". When I showed her the screen again with the code and told her that that's what we were given to show them. She said to look at her computer screen, does it look like we're on her screen?! I got very upset at that point and told her not to talk to my wife like that and then I called uhaul. I had to speak to 6 different people on the phone before they called her. But then she came out to my car with her "manager" on the phone saying that she has the key and all is good but also decided to tell me that next time I need to calm down and that she went next door to figure it out and everything so she did all of this extra work and jokingly said I should give her another 40$ for going OUT OF HER WAY. I know this isn't technically UHAUL'S problem but if we were in her system or whatever I would have never had to deal with her attitude. But I will never go back to that uhaul dispatch, or tell anyone else about it. My wife is pregnant and she put her in tears!SABRINA S.
This location was sketchy and the people running the location did not provide me with any paperwork or info about the truck I was picking up. I was not given any info about the fuel or mileage agreement.Laura B.
Your entire team's communication is atrocious! I chose U-Haul instead of Penske because of â€œMom's Attic,â€ but up until the day before my pick up date, the associate still could not confirm if the truck would actually be available or how far I would have to go to get it! When they finally gave me the address, it was across the street from the actual place! I called that morning to make sure it was there, the store clerk told me it will PROBABLY be there and hung up on me! Then when I got there about 20 minutes after my pick up time, the clerk said, â€œYou're too late! The lady who takes care of the rentals is gone!â€ I told her I was desperate and needed her help, so she said she'd try. After processing the order, she stripped out the blankets and dolly that were on my original order. I immediately called U-HAUL's 800 number, but because I had already picked up the truck and my order had been processed, The record of my original order with those accessories had been changed! As a result, I had to scramble at the last minute to find those items. At the end, I returned the truck two days early to the designated place. They called two days later to see if I was going to return the truck! U-HAUL, you should be embarrassed by your horrific lack of communication within your team and with your customers!Madelynn I.
Owner was very nice at this location. However, this location was the "closest" one I could select when in reality there is a uhaul location right across the street from where we moved. I don't know why this was not an option.Anna A.
My POOR rating isn't against the location but rather the UHaul process of assigning me a drop off 12 miles away despite driving by another location only 2 miles away. Discovering this as I was on the 7 hour drive to the new house, I called UHaul, again on hold for over 30 minutes before speaking to someone. I was told it would be a substantial fee to change the drop off location as I was in a contract, a contract that UHaul decided to assign a drop off location 12 miles away. I asked to speak to a supervisor, another long hold time. The supervisor didn't even try to accommodate my needs. He couldn't even tell me the rate per mile should I go over. Simply told me I was in a contract. To top things off, UHaul had the nerve to charge me $.13 because I went over the allowable miles by .4 miles., an overage due to UHaul's drop off assignment. As a long time and frequent user of UHaul, I am completely disappointed all the way around. I will likely look for the next need to go through a competitor, which everyone knows is less expensive than UHaul.David L.
WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRUCK THE MILEAGE WAS DIFFERENT IN THE TRUCK THAN WHAT WAS ON THE CONTRACT, THE SAME WITH THE FUEL! I HAD THE TRUCK FOR FOUR HOURS AND WAS CHARGED $367.88!!! I HAVE YET TO GET MY CREDIT, MY NEXT MOVE IS AN ATTORNEY! ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS I HAD THE TRUCK FOR FOUR DAYS, WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY BECAUSE I PUT THE KEYS IN THE OWNER'S HAND!Habibah I.
This experience was a nightmare. First, that is not the address where one picks up the U-Haul. The U-Haul is actually across the street at a country store. The Tiger Express acts as if they have nothing to do with U-Haul yet I witnessed the man behind the Tiger Express counter bring the truck across the street to the country store. I arrived to find that no one there knew how to input the information and do the actual rental. Mind you, I had already completed all required documentation on line the night before just after getting my reservation confirmation email. The young lady in the store apologized and dismissed my predicament. I had to call corporate and be treated as if I could not read by the associate because he felt I was as the wrong address. I had to let him know I was looking at the Tiger Express signage with my own two eyes as we spoke. I have never seen such a bungled mess. The situation was resolved after about an hour's wait but it was truly frustrating. This was after two other bungled attempts to rent a U-Haul at two different sites on Friday. To say some training is necessary for rental agents is a gross understatement. Also, Eric, a U-Haul representative should follow through when he says he will set up rental abilities at these sites. That was the issue in Cummings/Varnville SC after a failed attempt to rent there. I lost another 40 minutes of my time. They were very professional but could not accommodate me since corporate had failed to do there part. My first experience the evening before included an open sign on the front of the business, a locked door, and someone inside pretending he did not see me but clearly he knew I was knocking on the door. I had to call the number on the door and finally reached an associate only to be old that location could not rent until this week. This was quite an exasperating saga!!Peggy O.
Picked up a Uhaul with dog hair in the seats, they changed my reservation without contacting me and gave me a larger truck, I didn't even need a truck, just the trailer and something that can tow. When I asked if wet could call other places around the area to see if I could get a truck to use instead, they said they don't do that. Bottom line, the truck was dirty when I got it, and the customer support I was supposed to receive was non-existent.Michael W.

I would not recommend Uhaul to anyone as they tend to try and rip you off. I would suggest that you take pictures of the mileage and gas when you pickup and drop off the uhaul or else they will try to tack on extra charges. Not only with that being said they will rent you a Uhaul that they don't even have at the location you choose. I would Suggest you go with another carrier as u-haul has gone down heel and other carriers are much more reliable.Stephanie H.
The equipment was returned in the same condition as it was picked up including gas yet I'm being charged for returning it the way I picked it up, the store should check the equipment before renting it out so customers don't end up with extra fees. Never againcierra J.

This was an AWFUL experience and I will NEVER use U-Haul again because of this. I drove out to the designated U-haul location around 8:30pm and they were closed. So I then began trying to use the website to drop off my U-Haul. The website would not work and kept saying error. I then downloaded the app and this also would not work. Every time i tried submitting a picture of the milage and gas meter on the app AND website it would say error or take me to a blank screen. I then called U-haul customer service and no one ever came to the phone. So finally we said forget it and had to leave the U-haul there (which was 30 minutes away from my new apartment). We then drove back to the drop off location at 7:00am because thats when my official drop off time was. I get to the gas station and they said "oh no its the gas station across the street but they don't open until 8:00am". So i drive across the street and they have a sign that said closed they will be back and 9:00am. I then tried using the app and website once more but still nothing. I finally get ahold of a agent on the phone and she was able to help me. There was no drop off box for the keys however which is very dangerous. I wasted so much time and money driving to and from which is ridiculous. I then go online to check my account and the gas station that i dropped off the truck to charged me $86.11. The truck was FULL and clean when i dropped it off and the number for their gas station is not in service.Hannah G.

Remove this place from being able to rent your equipment. The check engine light came on shortly after I left. Advance Auto checked the truck and that two cylinders were misfiring. Very bad experience.Roger C.
Make sure you tell them when the store hours are; for they do not open until 8am; but the Savannah office told me that they opened at 5am and I got there at 6:30am to pick up my truck and no one was there to process me at the Ridgeland location. The person did eventually come around 7:10am or so and he was more concerned with waiting on other customers for the little store there than helping me get my truck meanwhile I was now behind in my move. Then once I paid; he just handed me the keys and did not walk around the truck with me or anything. BUT The moving helpers I had ordered online were very professional and I would book them again and again. The companies name is Realty Moving; again they were terrific.Laurie M.
