BUCKLE UP, THIS IS A LONG ONE, BUT YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ IT BEFORE USING THIS LOCATION. We were told by the owner (Alex, or so he said, his name was) of this location that if we took this particular "dirty truck," he would give us a $10.00 discount, off of the $19.95 rental fee. He asked us how long we would have the truck, we said close to, but not quite 24 hours. He asked what we were moving, we told him just a used, but clean, home freezer. He said, he is the owner, and we can go ahead and just drop it off at ANY time the next day, as he would not be there, but he has cameras. Well, we returned the truck ON TIME, with the right amount of gas, and dropped off the keys in the drop box. No issues, or so, we thought. Then, we got our bill, today, (today being the original day, I wrote this review) and we were NOT only NOT given the promised $10 discount. We were also charged a $20.00 'after hours return, service fee' when it WAS returned by 4pm, if not before 4, and I can prove it, as I messaged Alex, AFTER we had already returned home from dropping off the truck, just to thank him, and to ask about his honey. No response. We returned it by 4pm, if not before, and most definitely within the 24 hour timeframe. I CAN PROVE *ALL* OF THIS, TOO. We drove the 15 miles it said, and was charged $14.85 (at .99 cents per mile) which was the ONLY THING correct on our bill. We were ALSO charged $15.00 for a "safe move fee" without our knowledge or consent. We were also charged an "After hours return fee" of $20.00, as well as not getting the $10.00 off for having to use a dirty truck which was his idea, as well as an "Environmental fee" of $2.00, ALL without our knowledge, as well as taxed on ALL of those EXTRA charges, which was $5.65, and of course, we expected to pay tax, but on the RIGHT amount, we also expected to pay for the gas we put back into the truck, AND for the 15 miles we drove, and the reduced $10.95 rental fee. BUT NO, we ended up paying a wopping total of $77.45, when in reality we SHOULD have been only charged for a total of $31.45, or even $33.45 IF the 'environmental tax' is even required, or a thing, and that's even adding in the tax amount HE charged us, with ALL those bogus charges included, too! Again, we did NOT return AFTER hours, so that $20.00 fee is WRONG. We did not get our $10.00 off for using the ALREADY DIRTY TRUCK, which he told us "NOT to clean and he would take $10.00 off of the $19.95 'rental fee'", so that IS WRONG! NOR did we elect for any 'Safe Move' insurance fee of $15.00, NOR WERE WE even ASKED if we wanted any insurance - we didn't, so THAT IS WRONG! So, we should not have been charged for $20.00, $10.00, $15.00, and I do not know if the 'Environmental fee' of $2.00 is required, or not. THAT'S $45.00 DOLLARS OF BOGUS CHARGES, RIGHT THERE! We TRUSTED this man. This was our FIRST TIME using HIS business, and we truly had PLANNED ON using him in the future, and we WERE actually happy to have found him because he WAS so close, BUT as soon as I received my OUTRAGEOUS, and more than doubled bill, and I tried to call him, suddenly ALL of my calls to HIS LISTED BUSINESS LINE, for this location, which worked just fine to book the truck, suddenly all of MY calls 'CANNOT BE be COMPLETED AS DIALED.' So, right after I posted THIS review, he SUDDENLY calls me from some weird number that is under a totally different name than his, which he SAID is Alex, and he SAID he WOULD FIX the charges. What he DID do was reverse the $77.45 charge, and then, charge us two smaller fees that STILL ADDED UP TO $77.45, I am assuming, in an attempt to TRY to make it LOOK LIKE he returned some of our money when he absolutely DID NOT. Obviously, he is NOT NEW to this. AND YET, I STILL, STUPIDLY, gave him ANOTHER CHANCE to fix this. I did NOT even keep this review posted that original day that I wrote it, I removed it immediately FOR HIM, and temporarily, TO GIVE HIM TIME, like a few days because I wanted to give him a chance (I actually gave him FAR MORE TIME than that) to see if he would give us our promised refund, before leaving this VERY TRUE and HONEST, review. He did NOT refund ANY of our money, and so, HE SCAMMED US, by LYING to us, OVER AND OVER, and CHARGED MORE THAN DOUBLE, with bogus charges, so I am FINALLY hitting the POST BUTTON on this review, AFTER giving him 3 different CHANCES TO DO THE RIGHT THING. Sadly, this man IS a liar and a rip off/scam artist. Do not believe ANYTHING HE SAYS, UNLESS you get it IN WRITING, and keep lots of proofs, like taking pictures and screenshots, etc... like I actually did. I COULD easily take him to small claims and win, but for $45.00 - I won't bother with the hassle. Instead, I am going to warn any and all, of his possible future customers, who are smart enough to read reviews, unlike I did, for this location, DO NOT USE THIS U-HAUL LOCATION, EVER, NOT IF YOU ARE SMART! I am REALLY bummed out because WHO DOES THIS?! And suddenly having your BUSINESS NUMBER 'not accepting calls as dialed'??? ALL VERY weird, and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Don't get me started on his excuse. Sorry, I WISH I could leave a better review, but I felt others SHOULD ABSOLUTELY be warned about this particular location. THIS IS FOR THE LOCATION AT 21126 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA 98036 UPDATE: As I said, I suddenly got messaged RIGHT after posting this review (when I originally posted it) by the owner. I will post the message he sent me, and my responses in pictures. I took my review down IMMEDIATELY, after his message, and GAVE HIM SEVERAL chances, if not weeks, to fix the issue, and NOTHING! Not even after messaging him AGAIN, as a friendly (still) reminder, which I, as a customer, should NOT have to do. I gave this man every chance and every benefit of doubt, over and over again, AND THEN SOME. And not only that, he suddenly sent me a different reciept, saying instead of the 15 miles we drove, originally, we now suddenly traveled 20 miles! I happen to know EXACTLY HOW MANY MILES I TRAVELED, AS I USED GOOGLE MAPS thee entire time. I HATE leaving bad reviews and even SAYING what I had to say, but it is the truth, even though my personality is to always believe the best about people, and to give them the benefit of doubt, until proven otherwise, BUT YOU, SIR, ARE A THIEF & LIAR! No person to person contact. Done via phone call at location. No one there just a sign to say call . Truck interior dirty and full of pine needles on floor board and had to sweep out back when I got home. No one there to verify that the gas was below what was actually in U-Haul. Took pictures and uploaded as noted in app.

Super nice guy. I had my reservation set for 2:00 2:00 for a van. When I got there he said it was reserved under my name for 3:15. He said not to worry, he could give me a truck for the same price, and he did. Then I stopped in and asked if I could have it until 7:00 instead of 6:00. He said no problem! I dropped off the truck after hours and left the key. The bill was completely accurate. All around a great experience. I will rent from him again next weekend and any other time I may need a truck!

No one was there when we arrived. We had to wait. No one was there to drop off and I didn’t received the contract until AFTER I picked up the truck! Then I was charged a $35 cleaning fee for 2 clean small folded up boxes left in the truck! Had I known there would be a fee for that I would have remembered to take the small cardboard boxes out. I’m pretty upset about it.

Thoroughly frustrating experience. I needed the truck longer so I called well ahead of the drop off time and was told by 11am the next day was ok, but if I needed it longer to call at 10 to see if it's still available. Totally fine, I completely understood that. Then I get a call at 8 saying the truck was late, clarified that I was the one who called yesterday so that was ok and he said he'd call back at 10 and let me know. At 10:06 I called and he said he'd check the lot and call me back. At 10:30 I made arrangements for a pick up and just returned the truck . Then I got hit with a $50 cleaning fee 10 minutes later....I had just moved boxes a bed and a couch, that's it. So I went back and he tried convincing me there was paint on it. There were some dusty footprints. I had a cheap stupid broom left after packing so I asked to borrow their push broom and took care of it in less than 2 minutes. I understand mix ups, I understand being busy, but all of these things together left a severely bad taste. I am still furious and will loudly tell everyone I know to not go to that location in the future.

We were charged a $75 cleaning fee, but we returned the truck clean. When talking to the owner afterwards, he admitted that the truck hadn't been checked until the day after it was returned, and a homeless person may have been inside. He agreed to refund the cleaning fee, but it has been a month and he hasn't refunded it.

The store added SafeMove charge without my consent. When I returned the vehicle early, they told me to put the keys in the dropbox instead of completing the check-in process. Afterwards, they added a cleaning fee at the end when I had already cleaned it. Lastly, the gas level at the end was reported incorrectly. I had to call customer service to get both charges removed. This store unethically adds extra charges for their profit.

it was not the first time im renting Uhaul, but this is will be my first and last time with this location. at the time of pick up, the person told me that its 24/7 service center and i also noted the Gas level. though i booked the vehicle for a day but i dropped it off around 8:30pm on the same day with the same Gas level. i was overcharged for dropping vehicle at 8:30pm mentioning as "After hrs Service Fee" also for Cleaning fee and rental rate charged at 39.95 while it was only 29.95 at the time of booking. when I called in Alex told me that Gas was not filled so he charged me after hrs service and i mentioned like i will write to Uhaul to get answers he threatened me saying that he will block me from booking a vehicle in Uhaul.

I was supposed to pick up the truck and drop it off as a one-way but the guy told me he would give me some great discount if I drove back to drop it off with him so I did. No discount ever came. I had to drive two hours to do this. Super annoying.

I was put off by the demeanor and manner of conversation by the customer service representative. He was too familiar, made comments that were off putting and unprofessional. He said that he was "doing me a favor" by giving me the code to the lockbox and said that he was taking $25 off my bill because it "wasn't his money". When I opened the lockbox it was filled with cash and keys. When I was sent the bill, he charged me for a $25 cleaning bill that was not warranted.

The place is in a convenient place in the neighborhood, but is disorganized. I confirmed that the trailer I was renting would be ready by 9 am, but at 9 am there were no employees present. After a couple of phone calls to various phone numbers, I did get an employee to come out 30 minute later. There was nobody present when I dropped off the trailer, I just dropped it off, and hoped that was all I needed to do. Nobody answered either of the phone numbers at that time. Later, the owner called me and claimed that I backed a truck into his business, damaging the building. I explained that I rented a trailer, not a truck, so it must've been someone else. Honest mistake on their part, but it suggests lack of attention to detail. The trailer itself was in good condition, though one of the brake lights was out.

Location doesn't have enough trucks on-hand so any late arrivals lead to more late arrivals or people waiting. I arrive at 9AM for 15 ft truck, however they were an hour late so I was going to have to wait an extra 30 minutes to an hour for the truck size I wanted. They had one 10 foot truck available that I was offered at a discount which was nice, however, it required me to make two trips rather than just one trip so I was also therefore late. It makes me wonder if the business scheme is trying to make money off of people being late. I've never had this type of experience from a normal U-Haul shop which is a lot more flexible with arrival and drop-offs of the truck and had backup trucks available in case something came up. I was also charged a late fee even though I was given a smaller truck an hour later than I had originally scheduled because of the lateness of a previous customer.

This location's business practices are way below par. They attempted to charge me for two extra days for a rental that was returned to them on the same day it was originally rented for. We did the online return and took photos.. The next day, the contracted amount was charged to my account. 6 weeks later, I received a new bill for an additional $350 dollars for an additional 2 days, because they didn't process the return correctly. I've made a formal complaint to U-haul customer service.

The pickup location looked abandoned. Nobody was around. I called the local phone number and was told to hook up and text a picture. Fortunately for me, I knew how to hitch up the trailer. When I finished movingI returned the trailer to the same location. Nobody was there. I called the 888 phone number to let them know that I was returning the trailer to the same location. They seemed totally confused. They thought the p/u date was the following day. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. Uhaul used to be “the” moving vehicle rental company. You seem to have fallen on hard times. I will not rent from you again. There are way to many other places that provide a better experience.

This location is unsecured and has very strange businesses practices. I was told to drop keys off in a drop box which I did, the next day I got a call claiming that I had somehow taken all of their truck keys from the drop boxes and that they wanted them back. They had cameras around the property and I was told that they would send it up to supervisors, as I did not take their keys I told them fine. I will not recommend this location to anyone ever to use their services.

I rented a van to pickup some furniture in within 1.5 miles. Altogether I drove about 11 miles. When I got the van it was dirty on the outside. Then on my bill I got charged $25 cleaning fee. I brought the van exactly the way I picked it up. There is no chance I would recommend uhaul to anyone.

The trucks were not locked and the keys were not locked up. All the keys were in one unlocked lock box. The truck was blocked in by other trucks and the guy running the place told us over the phone to just find the keys and move whichever trucks we needed to. The hand truck/dolly we rented was not in the truck. We looked in all the trucks on the lot (since they were unlocked) until we found one and then just took it. This sounds like a place that’s just waiting for houseless people to move in and start sleeping in the trucks if they haven’t been already. The trucks could very easily be stolen too. It would be easy to have borrowed the truck for the day without paying had I known how unsecured it all was. I also asked if a bigger truck could be available when I called to confirm a reservation a week in advance and was told no. Then a bigger size truck sat on the lot all day. It would have been nice to be able to upgrade to that bigger truck once we knew it was available.

The rental process was difficult and they over charged me on mileage. I clearly indicated the starting mileage was wrong. Took a picture of the current odometer reading and the drop off reading and I was still charged for 116 miles. I only actually went approximately 30 miles.

When I picked up this unit the back was completely full of recycling. The person working there had no idea how to work the app, but after leaving with the truck to go to the dump and empty the back, I got a call from someone in charge. They were very apologetic and even promised a big discount because of the misshap. So when I return the truck clean and as agreed upon, why was there zero discount but also a $50 cleaning fee? $155 for less than 10 mile trip. Some of that mileage being having to go to the dump to remove the cardboard I was left with.

I made the reservation at a location close to my house. It was changed to this location which is an additional 4 miles away. The truck was not available at the reserve time, so I had to wait for it. The customer service person I talk to at U-Haul was far from helpful. The person handling reservations at this location was understanding and said they would make an adjustment for the snafu, but nothing was adjusted. The entire experience was terrible. I’ve rented from U-Haul in the past, but this will be the last time.
