I called on a Thursday to rent a uHaul for a move on that Sunday - so only a few days ahead. Our need was to rent the uHaul on Sunday afternoon, after my person was out of work, for 24 hours. When I called this location to verify the online information, I spoke with Joe who was very nice and helpful. He explained that they were open on Sunday, but I could come in Saturday before they closed to pick it up and I would just have to have it back by close of day Monday, and I would only be charged for a one-day rental since our need was to rent it Sunday afternoon for 24 hours. The very poor experience starts when I went to get it Saturday. I was in the best mood going to the uHaul because my person and I were moving in together, and this was something I have been wanting for a while. I was smiling ear-to-ear and basically just giddy. When I got there, Joe wasn't there, and I was "helped" (if you could call it that) by someone named Ciro. Like I just mentioned, I was in a GREAT mood going in. I was nothing but pleasant to Ciro and he was nothing but rude and disrespectful to me from pretty much the second I sat down at his desk. Apparently he was mad that Joe offered me the deal he did of picking it up Saturday before close and returning it Monday by close for a 24-hour rental. He told me, in a VERY nasty tone, that "Joe shouldn't have done that and he had to override the system". He was basically yelling at me, like I was a child and not an educated person, about how the deal I was getting was BS, he was going to talk to Joe, how if I was a minute late or didn't park it exactly in the space/position it was in he was going to charge me and repeated his "threats" several times. I could not believe the way this man was speaking to me. I was sure he had to be the owner of this establishment because I was sure he wouldn't have a job if he was an employee and this is how he spoke to his costumers. I was shocked when I got his business card and saw he was a manager. At one point, I had to tell him "not to speak to him in the manner he was and that he was very disrespectful". I never leave reviews or complain about service, but this man was horrible and beyond insolent. I am a middle school teacher, and have been teaching for 20 years (many of them in very bad areas), and my worst kids were not as nasty as he was. If we were not in a bind with needing a truck, and renting it at 11:30 on a weekend when most uHaul places were getting ready to close, I would have walked about as soon as he started speaking to me like he was (which was within the first three minutes). I was literally in shock with the way I was treated. I would never recommend this uHaul establishment and as a matter of fact I will tell anyone who will listen about the way I was treated by Ciro. I understand everyone has a bad day here and there, but to be so disrespected by someone for absolutely no reason is unacceptable. I was a paying customer and I was not asking for special treatment. I did not ask Joe to allow me to pick it up Saturday, I simply told him of my needs of requiring a uHaul Sunday afternoon until Monday afternoon. Joe was the one who offered for me to get it on Saturday before they closed. I said the equipment was not clean because the ashtray was full of cigarette ash and there was a few items left in the back (small items like a pack of incense, clothing tags, an item of clothing). So the truck was not swept like you are supposed to do. I can deal with the items left behind, but the cigarette ash was gross and smelly (I am also a former smoker so I am used to the smell). Again, I am not one to complain. Ever. As a matter of fact, I cannot think of one other time I did. But, Ciro almost took one of the best days of my life and tried to dampen it, but there was no way I would allow him to do that. I know it is cliche, but it costs nothing to be nice. Even after he was horrible and disrespectful to me, I was nice to him. Ciro needs to not deal with customers and be in charge of behind the scenes jobs. I do not think I will not rent from uHaul again after this experience. I know that if I do give uHaul another chance, I will not go to this location.

The rental was poorly handled by U-Haul. The rental location was NOT the same as the pickup location. U-Haul failed to clearly state that the equipment was not available at the rental location, but needed to be picked up at a different location. This led to confusion, time delays, and more mileage than planned.

The wiper fluid indicator stated low fluid level, tire pressure monitor sensor indicator was also on. Vehicle in good shape otherwise, full of fuel and clean. Nice folks at the office.

The truck cab looked as if someone had been living it. There was nothing to pick up, it was simply filthy to the touch. It was very dirty. If I were a "germ-o-phobe" or a Covid19 paranoid individual, I could not have gotten in the vehicle. The service was good however, the location was easily accessible for pick up and after hours drop off.

Van had a smell like old cigars, the windshield was really dirty on the inside, and the "old change" warning was on. The website allows you to make a reservation for a time when the business is closed, but you can't really get the van when the business is closed. Luckily, the business owner worked with me to work around that.
