Truck was in need of major mechanical repairs @ steering and suspension. Truck was very noisy sounded like grinding gears and when steering wheel was turned to the right or left sounded like something was going to break.

The ashtray was full of cigarettes and the truck smelled strongly of cigarettes. We emptied and cleaned the ashtray and sprayed and opened the windows of the truck but the smell was awful for quite a while.

Based on the experience I had, I would not recommend U-haul. I was not comfortable with the reservation process, being promised a unit but not knowing details until the day before. The representative at the pickup site was very helpful. There were troubles with my reservation. The trailer I reserved wasn't available so I got a free upgrade. I have a small car and that may not have worked. The paperwork had me down for both the trailer I reserved AND the free upgrade, being charged for both. The rep had to get the manager to help figure this out and ultimately had to call headquarters. We were told it was all corrected. It was not. Still both trailers but even more expensive. Called HQ, tried to fix it. I was told to take the trailer and would be emailed a contract, since they could not get it figured out. This was a 90 minute ordeal. Again, the rep and store manager were very friendly and helpful - nothing went right.

Let's see where do I begin with this crappy rental? I reserved the trailer approximately 10 days ago I set the trailer up to be picked up approximately 5 blocks from the location I needed it at I get a call after I had travelled 190 miles from my home to Chicago and was there waiting to go to pick up the trailer then I was told by your customer service agent I had to drive an additional 35 miles each way if I wanted the trailer in Oswego Illinois I asked I thought a reservation meant I was getting a trailer? The girl said yes we have to guarantee you a trailer we do not have to guarantee you the location so then after picking up this trailer that look like it was from a junkyard my car hauling went smooth on the way home to Peru Indiana I got a text saying I had to drop the trailer off in Kokomo Indiana which is 22 miles each direction from my home so my response is this I have to guarantee you get the trailer back I don't have to guarantee where it will be just like I was told from your customer service which really sucks by the way I will not be using U-Haul in the future because of this there's no point making a reservation to pick up a trailer if you have to drive halfway across the state anyway in conclusion I dropped the trailer off where I normally get my rentals in Peru Indiana I did not take it to Kokomo

There were some system issues making the vehicle unavailable even though we had reserved it but the person at the office was finally able to resolve it. Otherwise the process went well and the attendant was helpful and pleasant.

When I called they we agreed the pick-up location was Aurora. When I got to Aurora they said they only had one in Oswego. That wasted 1 hour of my time.

I rented 24 moving pads with my order and when I picked up the truck, the attendant gave me a plastic bag of pads and said there were 24 in there. I said it doesn't look like 24 at all but he insisted there were. After I drove the truck home and opened the tied bag, there were only 7 pads!!! I was upset and called the location to inform him but no one would even answer the phone so I left a message about my shortage. I haven't heard back in 4 days now but Uhaul was still happy to charge me for 24 pads. I will do business with another company from now on.

When I connected the lights to my vehicle, the driver side tail light was functioning. The night prior to my returning the unit, I noticed that same light was not functioning. When I called this morning I notified the person I spoke to and was told he thought there was a "short" somewhere because it has happened before? It concerns me this was a known issue and not addressed. For the Safety of my family and others this seems like a serious oversight, especially since it is a known issue. Luckily I was not stopped by the authorities! Doubtful I will rent from this location in the future.

The employee showed up 20 minutes late to open the store. He never went over the truck and there was a ton of physical damage to the outside of the truck. The interior the cab was horrible as well. The ceiling was falling of by the windshield and everything was dirty and sticky on the dashboard. The truck was also barely filled with any gasoline when I picked it up. I was barely able to get to the gas station right after leaving the rental place. I also rented a dolly and moving blankets with the truck, but when I opened the back of the truck the dolly was just thrown in the back and the blankets were strewn all over the back of the truck.

My furniture was damaged from a ceiling leak. I lost a sectional, queen mattress, box spring, armoire, dresser, 2 night stands, a head and foot board for the mattress, and a mirror. Avoid at all costs

Staff at Stor More was just fabulous. We never had a single issue thru a long move transition. Facility nice clean. Very open access to units. Better than anything else in the Aurora Area.

When I arrived to pick up my truck with the easy phone check in it said a truck was not available. Called 800 number, waited 7 minutes for operator and 10 minutes later I still didn't have an answer as to why I didn't have a truck. Attendant then opened facility late but they did have a truck and that part was okay.

I have to compliment Austin (manager of location). If it wasn't for him, this review would be poor. About an hour before I was scheduled to pick up the truck, Austin informed me that someone had returned the 26 fter damaged. He scrambled to get me another truck from another location before I arrived as I was under a tight deadline (closing on a sale and purchase of a house same day). The truck provided was absolutely disgusting (I believe someone used it to transport cattle). I didn't discover this issue until I was at my house since I didn't think to check the back of the truck before leaving. I was upset and had to spend more than 90 minutes cleaning and trying to get the smell out of the box truck. This situation was less than ideal. I expressed my concerns to Austin who was focused on trying to resolve the issue and make things right. I was offered alternatives to exchange the truck at another location but I didn't have time and was already almost and hour into the cleaning process. Austin continued to address my text messages after business hours. When I dropped the truck off, he apologized and worked with me to provide a discount on the rental which I believe was fair. Austin expressed his concern about the condition of the truck and that he wanted to make things right to make sure I used his location again in the future when renting a truck. Austin is an asset to that location. He certainly puts the customer first and was a pleasure to work with. I wish him and that location continued success.

At first i was upset. We had planned to pick up the truck in Minooka, iL. I understand that sometimes things change, but we did not get the call until 1 hr prior to our pick up - The Oswego location is 30 mins away from Minooka - Which means more miles to record and more time to get the truck. The person who helped us tried her best to make it right and I feel like she did. Thank you!

better communication on the u-haul website is a must!! i booked my truck out of sandwich, then when i got the confirmation, i found myself picking up the truck in Oswego. this added undue mileage to my rental, which i had to pay for. next time i might just cancel the reservation, and rent from another company.

Best experience I've ever had renting a truck. Staff was super understanding and helpful and accommodating. They understood my needs well and went the extra mile. Moving is a stressful time, so it was so helpful that this was such a stress-free and easy process.
