The U-Haul application is clunky and the employee apologized for it several times. He was excellent, but U-Haul should help by improving the system. That is my only complaint which wasn’t a bother cause it was not in a hurry
Scott TrippelCustomer service from the owner was careless. He said that I was supposed to come back the next day to return the vehicle because the system was down. However, minutes later I realized that I could return the vehicle via the app.

Rob GreczkoThe owner of this location was not helpful and rude. They do not seem interested in providing any customer service for Uhaul at this location. I would recommend finding another operator. Also the Uhaul hours at this location are from 10am-5pm which is not very practical for a one day rental. I reserved for a earlier pickup time and used the App to pick-up but they were being challenging about giving me the keys and said they are only going to deal with Uhaul between 10-5. Find a new operator in the Elk Valley please.

BERNIE PULSIFERFirst of all the system couldn't work for 50 minutes that I was standing there waiting after they called me 5 6 times to remind me to return the Uhaul on time at 5 PM when I picked up the Uhaul a few minutes to 6 PM.. They took a picture of my credit card which I've never seeing before. And The young lady's father was rude and races too. He had no patience for when I felt like I was being over charged. He started pointing his fingers at me and speaking in his Asian language to the point where the daughter had to grab him on the arm aggressively to tell him to calm down. I would rather beg for someone to let me use their personal truck instead of using their service ever again.
Anthoulah DessalinesManage the fleet availability better. 2hr. drive to pick up the truck, 2 hours back (x 2 people) = a lot of time while trying to move. Reservation system and scheduling had me calling multiple times trying to pin down a rental - and I had reserved one over a month prior to moving. I believe the term to describe the scheduling is a "s***show". Super stressful compounded by not getting consistent info fom the schedulers.

Kathy ClowThe location was fine but the, reservation and equipment guarantee were terrible. I would never book a U-Haul for any location other than my home town. I ended up with different equipment, picked up from a different location located 200 kms from my planned one. Instead of an 8X 12 trailer I got 5X8 - less than half the capacity.

Scott BanksThe hitch of the u-haul trailer was frozen to the ground and had to be chipped out of the ice before it could be attached to the hitch of the truck. The trailer hitches should be placed on blocks to avoid them freezing to the ground. The attendant did not come out to inspect the trailer or our vehicle before we hooked up, nor did he offer any assistance in hooking up to the trailer or explaining how to do so properly. If my husband didn’t have a truck full of tools and the knowledge of hooking up to trailers, we would have been unable to do so.

Kathryn HuntTakes for ever to rent a unit, every time a customer comes in to the gas station you have to wait, took an hour to get the unit and my info was in the system, Lethbridge uhaul on the west side was the same way.

John CarruthersThe personnel in Starwood did not answer their phone to answer questions prior to drop-off. I received little guidance when I arrived with the trailer and the seemed uninterested. This was after I was re-directed to this location after I picked up the trailer and paid for it. The drop off location was 120 kilometres out of my way during an already busy Christmas travel season. Uhaul’s logistic management is terrible and can not be relied upon.
John LeachSunday Dec 4th: The setup and Yard is good in Sparwood. Lot was cleared and snow plowed for the most part. No assistance given by the franchisee...I had trouble getting the Trailer off of the hitch due to snow etc. Woman was surly and unpleasant at best saying that Uhaul hours were only until Sunday 2pm despite it being a Gas Station open until 10pm. I was there at 2:42. She basically told me to go away and come back on December 6th when I had 'rented' the trailer until according to the contract. I believe this was the only option I was given a Minimum 3 day rental $750. If I am entitled to a rebate I will gladly take it!! After some back and forth that I was only dropping off the trailer she put the closing contract through finally...not pleasant. Sparwood is the only franchise location within 100+kms each way. Sad to see Fernie Auto Parts is no longer a franchise...never had an issue there Lastly in booking online it says Sparwood drop off has 24 hour drop off service (I already knew this was untrue) and asked at pick up location to confirm hours to return in Sparwood. She told me until 5pm each day. This is on Uhaul to fix for future customers.

James MacleodUnit was found to be covered in 8 inches of snow which I had to sweep off. Trailer hitch was frozen into the ground. Although I was by myself and am somewhat disabled, the staff did not offer or give me any help in cleaning the trailer and hitching the trailer to my truck. The lady at the counter was however very nice.

Matthew Glanfield1) As a U Haul policy, gas tanks should be full at time of pick up. It is a hassle to have to gauge not overfilling past a set fuel point prior to return 2) I had to buy washer fluid for the truck at time of pick up as it was empty. No reimbursement for the expense. Only $ 7.50 but the principle.....
Bruce LadonI find it somewhat offensive that your customers are required to purchase one of your U-Haul padlocks. A padlock of the customer’s choice would by all means be sufficient and the risk would default to the customer exclusively. I see this as a cash grab, especially because it was revealed at the last minute during the contract signing. A friendly word of advice-these are precisely the things that will turn potential customers away as opposed to attracting them. People generally don’t appreciate being nickel and dimed.
Ron HiscockI had hoped to just drop off the equipment and key and be done with my move, but they asked me to disconnect and park both the trailer and truck, and then also to fold and bag the blankets for them and unload the 2 furniture dollies. I was hoping my move would be over simply by returning the equipment.
