The UHaul app was fine when picking up the van. Upon return after hours, the app would not determine my location, so I could not proceed with the check in process. I allowed location on my phone as instructed but continued to get the same message and could not finish the process. I called the store and left a message and then called the UHaul help line and was told there was a 59 minute wait. I took pictures of the van and left the keys in the lock box at the store. Eventually, I did receive a return call, but it is unacceptable to wait 59 minutes for 24/7 assistance.CLAIRE D.

The mobile pick up and drop off was a disaster. My phone and your system could not get on the same page. I spent 45 minutes checking it back in at 5p. It was very inefficient. I assume you all have reason to believe the opposite is true but every phone is different and your tech support was great but even they took 15-20 mins to sort it out with me. I moved my daughter from Rhode Island to Los Angeles using a 10' uhaul truck and an auto transport trailer. Both the pickup and drop off locations worked out great. I highly recommend South County Trailers in North Kingstown. They were very helpful in getting the vehicle on the trailer and getting us on our way. The truck drove as expected with a trailer. No issues across country. It's 3100 miles and we did it in a little over 5 days. I recommend taking the interstates that follow the old Route 66 highway and if you have time stop along the way. I added in a stop in Chicago which slowed us down but set us up for following RT 66. It starts in Chicago. I would not recommend cutting through Denver. Especially during the fires out west. I had heard before hand that they were closing the roads a lot and I know from previous experience to not drive the mountains especially with a truck and trailer that has a top speed of 55-60 on flat roads. My route went from Rhode Island to Chicago via Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and finally Illinois to Chicago. From Chicago I took I 55 to St Louis, across Missouri,Oklahoma, pan handle of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and finally California. Arizona has a lot of places to see. My schedule didn't give me much time to stop. Just FYI, these trucks don't have cruise control and you will need to stop every 250-300 for gas if you are towing an auto transport trailer. So plan accordingly.SCOTT D.

I had to cancel my UHaul at Smithfield where I would be charged $0.99/ mile, went to Dunns corners where your organization messed up and threw me to N. Kingstown where I had to pay $1.39/ mile ... really???Laurence H.

The truck still had trash in the cab from the previous person. I took pictures of it when doing my inspection before driving off. The thing that upset me the most was that in my final bill there was a $25 cleaning fee. I called the place I rented from and told them that I was not paying for a cleaning fee when the cab already had trash when I first sat on the drivers seat. He replied back that he didn't charge me for that. He said the back of the truck had tons of dirt in it. This is an out right lie. I rented the truck to pick up furniture at my cottage in Massachusetts. His response was that he isn't going to waste his time arguing over a $25 fee and wasn't worth the aggravation and then proceeded to hang up on me. That was extremely unprofessional and I will never rent from them again.Edward C.

This was my third rental over the past month and each time was a good experience. The process was simple, the trucks were available and the experience was hassle free which is difficult to find these days. I would definitely recommend South County Trailers for U-Haul rentals.Mark P.

Truck had bad alignment and pulled aggressively to the right no matter what lane. Vehicle shook over 50mph like a bad wheel balance. Oil light came on shortly after leaving and I had to add 2 quarts. Again terrible uhaul experienceARTHUR J.

overall it was great! I think I picked one of the coldest mornings, which is jading my experience. However, I was pretty anxious when the first truck wasn't available. My partner and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what numbers it was referring to, figuring it had to be there and we were looking at the wrong thing. When we finally gave up, the directions quickly pointed us to a truck that was there. Maybe trying to check that these trucks were there first would be helpful, or including a note that it is not uncommon to go through a few trucks that aren't present, I just figured it was a much more major problem than it turned out to be. Also, including a picture highlighting which numbers to look for would have been helpful, the description wasn't accurate or at least what I would have thought it meant. Also, there were a few steps we could have done before pickup, like taking the picture and adding an extra contact person. My mom got woken up because I didn't know to bring a passport and had to put someone in! Lastly, I had to go inside to get the key anyway. If we still had to go inside to talk to someone for the key, I don't know why it's considered contact-less. I would have just rented the normal way rather than doing all those extra steps!Elizabeth H.
When I picked up the trailer, the tail lights and riding lights did not work. I fixed the broken terminal connection so I could use the trailer after dark. Other than that the trailer was clean and usable.Alexander W.
