I wouldn't recommend U-Haul reserve a month before at 10 AM at McHenry Avenue 3941 and five minutes prior of arriving they called saying they won't have the U-Haul ready till 2 PM when I already have movers at my house waiting so I had to pay them extra to stick around just for i can go to another location to pick up a 17 footer, which I wanted 15 footer, so I had to go out to ceres to pick it up when I get there they didn't have the appliance dolly which I put in my reservation in the first place so she tells me to go to her other location to pick up the appliance dolly then when I get there. I had to pay 10 extra dollars to get it because she made another reservation which I didn't know about when i originally post to be in my reservation, so bottom of the story I was going back-and-forth a different locations worst experience ever and they offer me is $50 off in extra mileage because I had to go to another city to pick it up so really no point because I still had to pay more for my movers and wasting my time U-Haul needs to their reservations. Specially, a month before.

I took the picture of the gas gauge as instructed but I kept getting a message that said “you denied….†I went a total of 11 miles and had to put more gas in the truck than was in there when I picked it up. Not happy at all and I always rent from uhaul. The next time I need this type of service, I'll be sure to take my money somewhere else!!! Please know, I've also given a bad review on all my social media platforms. Loyal, longtime customers should not be treated like this!! But, it's clear my money is not respected with your brand! ✌
TUESDAY B.It would help the customer if the business could provide notification on Uhaul website or personal website that their office will be closed on day of pick up. Vehicle was in good shape and ran well. The biggest inconvenience was the lack of a utility dolly I paid for but was not with the vehicle. Unfortunately the location office was closed on my reservation day so I couldn't correct the issue in the office.

This sucked and I do not blame the Coronavirus for most of it!!! Just bad!
Stefan E.The location was closed on Dec. 31st and it was not listed as closed on the website. I called and left a message on Dec. 30th and regarding trying to return the truck. With the site closed, unfortunately, I did lock the keys in the truck, while trying to take a picture of the odometer and gas gauge, and realized, AAA does not handle U-Haul truck key locked services and the U-Haul road assistance would not cover the cost of the locked key because I did not know that I could purchase roadside assistance coverage since AAA does not cover it. I did purchase the additional insurance for collision, but did not know about the roadside service coverage, that was not that much to add. It cost me $120.00 that was not reimbursed and I am disappointed in the whole ordeal.

Frances F.The location was supposed to be open, and wasn't. A customer that was waiting with me, had told me that the office hadn't been opened for 5 days in a row already. I couldn't get any help from the location since it was closed. I had tried calling their number numerous amount of times, and received no answers. I had to call the uhaul number many different times, just to get some sort of help picking up my truck. The self help option to pick up my truck, had said for me to enter a word combination into the lock, in order to get my key to the truck, but had no combination answer listed. I had paid for two dollies, and there were none in the truck, when I finally opened it. I ended up having to call u haul in order to get dollies. I had to drive to another location to get my dollies as well. By the end up the whole ordeal, I wasted hours with all I had to go through, had to travel to a whole other location to get my dollies I had to pick up, and I ended up not being able to fully move all my things from my home. It screwed up our whole moving plans, wasted valuable time, and gave me a horrible experience with Uhaul. I am a frequent customer of Uhaul, and now I don't think I'll be using them again.

Kathryn E.Horrible experience. Went to drop it off 10 before closing and the employee said she didn't have time to check it in because she has to clock out at 6pm and no later. She had me call to check it in yet because it was a holiday the next day, they checked it in 2 days later. Then I received late notification and charges. Those were finally credited back but it took a lot of my time just to fix a simple issue that could have been avoided if the employee simply checked everything while I was there. Also, there was no check up on the gas and extra 14 miles were added. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Salvador L.Pick up location was closed when I arrived even though the "open" sign was on. A staff was in the storage units cleaning when I arrived. I attempted to get her attention and was ignored for a few minutes. That staff worked at the rental/storage facility and ultimately helped me. Staff informed me that I could return the Uhaul truck to any location, that was incorrect. I traveled to two different Uhaul offices and both denied the truck to be dropped off. Original store truck was picked up from was closed. I had trouble dropping off my truck. I was added extra miles on the contract thanks to the staff who misinformed me. Horrible experience overall.

Moshe Z.Whomever checked in the vehicle wrote down the wrong odometer (I used 8 miles and they said I used 87) thus one more thing that I had to call and have corporate "investigate" because I was charged double from what I was quoted. I would NOT recommend the drop the key off method like I used as it will now take more time to get it right!!!

Then it was noted my One Way rental had limited mileage, creating a potential double billing due to milage which was unlimited. The Scam is unacceptable and from my inquiries is very freaquent for uhaul to gouge the customers!
