First location I went to was on Hazeltine in Sherman Oaks. Would never go back there. Location looked like a filthy junk yard with a dirty funky office. The Sherman Way local was much better.

Karina Karina Karina!!!!! She is the greatest. She was Friendly Authentic Caring and Thoughtful and thats a FACT!!!! I had to go to the main UHaul store for a Queen size mattress cover and the lack of service at the main store made me appreciate Karina and Safe Storage even more. I would certainly recommend this facility because of Karina!!!

They were nice, it was relatively smooth but my two issues: 1- I booked it online from Thurs 10A-Mon 10A. The woman told me it was due back SUN. It took a a few explanations to tell her I didn't book 4 DAYS, I used the CALENDAR provided on the website and chose Thurs 10A- Mon 10A, that's four, twenty-four hour periods. She accommodated. I returned it easy but saw on my bill a $13 fee for credit card. last I knew, a credit card is REQUIRED to make the reservation. For that reason alone, I will not rent again and would discourage friends. I don't like being nickeled-and-dimed.

The check-in process took unnecessarily long and to not be allowed to park in their lot, when their taking my money as I am doing business with them, is ridiculous. There is hardly any street parking and I had to park quite a trek away. Nice people and they were very helpful in the return, but the no parking for a single car in a completely empty lot is a deal breaker. I won't use them in the future.

We were substantially overcharged on the mileage. I travelled 35 mikes in the truck and wa charged for 50!!!!! This is unacceptable.

This was the second time I used this location and got charged the additional insurance fee even thought I didn't select it (or need it) when I booked. The management at this location needs to address why it's automatically added after the fact. Not acceptable.

Yesterday, I rented a van for 4 hours (and returned it after just two hours). I drove it 18 miles. And put in just over a gallon of gas before returning it. Yet when I received my receipt via email, I was charged for 1.8 gallons of gas. The employee (JOSE RODRIGUEZ) insisted it was not returned with the proper amount of gas. I have a receipt with my purchase and a photo of the gas tank/mileage when I returned it. He then refused to refund the gas charge. I suspect that he is running a scam on customers in the hope that they don't check their recipe.

I had someone from TaskRabbit do a small moving job for me while I was out of town. The rental went smoothly and everyone was helpful. The cargo vans are easy to drive, and can handle just about every smaller move.

Make sure the vans are clean prior to rental, and require the gas gauge be returned at middle or full. Anything in between is confusing and it cost me 15 extra dollars. Not happy about that.

Dear U-Haul, First of all i really like your service and the locations we rented from always been super nice. I have no complaint about that, but last weekend I rented a U-Haul truck to drive from LA to Oakland CA order number 20279770. The truck did have a big problem regarding safety, which I found out when I was driving on the 5 freeway up north. The right (passenger side) mirror, was constantly moving out of alignment, .and because of that I had no view on my right side, which made the situation unsafe. Almost every 30 minutes I had to stop to adjust this mirror. The drive now took hours longer than expected and I arrived late at night in Oakland. I made it save in Oakland, but was frustrated about the drive I had feeling unsafe and being super late because of the mirror issue. I'm not sure what your policy is regarding these matters, but I was wondering if there is any compensation for this situation. I let the U-Haul people at Oakland know about the faulty mirror and my experience with it and they said they will take a look at the mirror, but they mention nothing about u-haul procedures for customers, that's why I'm mentioning it here. I have always been a pleased U-haul customer and this is my first time experience an issue. Please let me know what you can do regarding this matter. Thank you and I wish you a wonderful day! Keep the people working at this location!!!They were professional, courteous, and absolutely honest about their liability and Mine! I used my insurance to cover myself, but I have certain insurance that covers me. Some people don't have that coverage, and for those people, pay the extra $10 and you're equally covered. As Usual, U-Haul Rocked it out of the park...

I booked an appointment for a specific time and when I arrived the office was closed. No one returned for an hour. I explained I would be returning after hours and I was told that would be fine. When I returned it the gate closed behind me, and I was locked in and I had to call the emergency number to get out. I was also charged for two days of service even though I returned it the same day! This was an all around horrible experience. The truck also smelled like cigarette smoke, although, obviously, that was the least of my concerns.

Rental truck cabin was not clean at time of rental. I asked for a rag and cleaned it out. Other than, good experience!

Nothing. My entire experience was very positive. The manager at Safe Storage, Karina Florian. was A+ in customer service! Everything went very smoothly. One new thing in my neighborhood though. I received a parking ticket for parking a commercial vehicle (U_Haul cargo van) in a residential area at about 2 AM...I exceeded the maximum hours. It may be a good idea to warn customers about this. Karina said there should be a sign warning of this & I checked. Nothing. Good news - when I called the phone # on the ticket for the amount due I was informed that the ticket had been closed and nothing is due. This was probably a warning since this rule is new in my neighborhood (91405 area - Van Nuys/Valley Glen). Karina said the rule applies to pickup trucks too. Customers should be informed that this may apply to where they plan to park their rented vehicles overnight. From now on I will rent earlier in the day and return in the early evening. Thank you!

I had to pick up the Uhaul by myself. I asked where I could park. Answer: On the street. Fine. But the guy could have said MORE than "watch the signs." I got towed. He could have been more helpful and said, "Just make sure to not park on that street from 4 to 7. Watch the signs" He works every day next to these signs, he knows what they say, so help a customer out and fill him in on the exact rules. I clearly have more on my mind, that's why I'm renting a UHaul! Also, the truck I got smelled bad, the "tighten gas cap" light kept coming on and the engine light came on once. Also, the driver door is loose and it's hard to shut. I'm not renting from Uhaul any more. I'll be trying a different truck company next time I need a truck. Get it together UHaul! UGH.
