The location looked like a junkyard back in the woods and he’s very unprofessional and made things more complicated. I didn’t feel comfortable being there I was treated pretty bad because he was wanting more money after I had already paid. He ignored me when I first walked in as if he didn’t acknowledged me being there to drop off the truck. He looked dirty and greasy with a very unprofessional attitude.

This location is very non--professional, hard to find, and incompetent. The improvement needs to come from U-haul itself, not the local renter. This location was not the original one I choose, which was much closer to my starting point. So, U-haul added on an extra 20 miles for no reason! The original location I rented from, call me the day of pick up wanting to know why I didn't come get my truck! I am not impressed with U-haul and will not be recommending to anyone

Was not clear at all where to go to check in to rent equipment. Very sketchy place. Wasted my time by not checking condition of equipment before arriving and had no other tow dolleys available. Very disappointing facility

U-Haul sent me here after Dominion screwed up my order (they are the worst!) This site was 20 minutes out of the way. The site is really crowded and tough to navigate. The guys are gruff, but know what they're doing. It will take a little extra time to do your pickup here.

It was a great experience moving to a different party of the US. The moving truck was cleaned and serviced well, however one issue we would like to point out is that the provider was smoking cigarettes in the truck and in the renal office while we were trying to pick up and fill out paperwork.

Terrible customer service all the way around. Made the reservation 5 days before needing the truck. Then Monday they call me to tell me I need to go to another place to pick up. When I arrived at Rick's garage I was told I could not have the truck because it was a local truck. Even though I had confirmation and Uhaul told me to go there. I called Uhaul they were no help, telling me I could go to Salem to try and pick another truck up. That was 40 min the other way and I had been dropped off. The person at Rick's garage did not have any interest in trying to help me. He went back to being a mechanic for his garage. When I asked for help he told me he didn't have time for this. I finally agreed to take the truck back to christiansburg after I was done instead of dropping off in Wytheville like the confirmation said. The truck was disgusting and the check engine light was on. The level of customer service was terrible and terrible equipment. For that I will never ever use Uhaul again and make sure none of my family or friends do as well. I will also make sure I share the review on Google and Facebook

When I left I wasn't sure if the truck was capable of making the trip. It had a miss I'm the motor and very little power. The truck was clean. I had made a similar trip moving my son's furniture about 3 weeks earlier and used 90 dollars in gas.....this trip used 150 dollars. The truck was crappy.

Drop off location is cluttered and hard to maneuver in. Very difficult to find the return office. Two men in the office just took the keys and said they would take care of it. Dropped off truck around 12:00 pm. Received a bill at 3:52pm sayings they had to clean cab. It was clean when I left it. He should have inspected the truck at time off drop off. A very unprofessional business owner!

I picked up the vehicle and it was on empty. I mean running on fumes. The individual told me that if I had a 1/4 in the tank I would be reimbursed something. I left it with 3/8 and did not get anything. Seems to be a misunderstanding. Individual I talked to said I had to take it up with U-haul and just checked me in. We called the phone number on the reservation to inquire about the times to drop off the trailer. The man was extremely rude. When we arrived we could not figure out where to drop off the trailer as the building looked abandoned. We called again for help, and the man started yelling at us. Not a great reflection on your company

No we're to park truck, office was run down and dirty, no office posted. Person was not at location at 8 a.m. drop foo time. I was charged $25 for a cleaning fee after I made sure nothing was in front or back of truck and was sweep out.

I was supposed to drop off the trailer at Dominion Land and Auction in Blacksburg. I was turned away there and sent to Rick's Garage. This cost me an extra hour in a day where I did not have a lot of spare time. The guy at Rick's was not super happy about my surprise visit but I don't fault him. Thankfully he helped me out and accepted it. My guess is the operators don't like to accept a bunch of trailers since they are a hassle to move compared to the trucks. But that should not affect the customers. The original operator at Dominion should have accepted it. I suspect in the next couple weeks they will be sending Rick's a ton of trailers as students move into their dorms. And he will not be too happy.

I was lied to by a Uhaul rep over the phone who advised that the first month would be free. I was on the phone over 2 hours trying to get this resolved. Plus the storage unit was dirty and full of spider webs and is very hard to find and not well maintained.

When you reserve a truck then it should be at the location uhaul sends people to. I ended up getting a smaller truck cause the size I reserved was not available.

We were dissatisfied with this location because we were passing through the area on the interstate and had originally chosen a location right off the exit. Uhaul changed our pick up location the day before because our 1st choice location didn't have the cargo trailer we needed. Not only was this new location out of our way, our pick up time was changed to 4hrs later ! This required an extra 45 min-1hr to double back to the out of our way location and changed our entire schedule for the day of our same day one-way rental. It put us at our final destination much later than planned. The location itself was ok and the people were nice; just not convenient for our purposes.And that much of a pick up time change really affected our trip schedule.

It was really out of the way and to be honest, it didn't even look like the place was in business. It was difficult to find where to enter, and park. It looked abandoned. The building looks like it has never been cleaned. And, I don't expect much because I do understand that it is an auto repair business. I didn't receive a greeting when I entered, just a basic, why are you here? After they checked in the car, they asked me why I was still there. I was waiting for confirmation that everything was good, which is what I think anyone would do. I mean, I would use it again if I had to, but it was such a stark difference from the first haul place where I picked up the van.

The location did an excellent job. My only concern was that the closer location had closed down so that when I needed to get the truck over 90% of the miles I put on the truck were because I had to go twice as far to get the truck and get back to my location. The closer location had stopped doing U-Haul. That did not feel good but the dealer was very good and straight forward.

No one present during business hours (looked somewhat abandoned). The inside of the garage was a literal dumping ground. The key drop stated i needed to have the truck locked (I had rented equipment in the back), but there was no lock provided, nor attendees to help. Parking was limited, and extremely difficult to manage in a 20' truck!

I found it offensive that the man in the office was rude to me. He chain smoked throughout the entire check out process. The office reeked of smoke. The location was sketchy and I would not send a woman there alone.

The facility was 'unique' to say the less. The owners were nice but were struggling to deal with a large demand of customers with limited vehicle availability. They never went out to review the truck, and had a lot of people they were slowly trying to work through. I place a lot of this on Uhaul though as Uhaul redirected many of the people (myself included) to that location with late email changes.

U-Haul should NEVER send folks to Ricks Garage at Reeds Storage. I will never use U-Haul again primarily because of my experience at this location. I called to confirm that a truck was ready and the individual said he "aint know off the top of his head what I ordered" and did "not have time" to confirm whether or not this truck was ready. When I said I did not want to go out that way (the location was not the one I requested), he said it sounded as if I wanted him to "cancel my order". The experience was not much better upon arriving (a grand understatement). This was more of a junkyard than a U-Haul location. There was no parking for my car. Other customers were getting blocked in as they waited in line. The owner paid more attention to his dog than the customers themselves. There was no waiting room - a small hallway filled with people and smoke was all that existed. The owner was unpleasant and in absolutely no rush. The customers congregated together in line to talk about their horrible experiences with U-Haul and the location. The only positive about this experience was the story that could be told afterwards.

I’ve recently become a frequent user of UHAUL services, some fantastic and some not so great, but I was shocked at the complete lack of service and general manners provided by Ricks Garage at Reeds Storage. If you’re a female, choose another location. The attendant (I assume the owner) was chauvinistic, condescending, and just plain rude. This, by far, is the worst location I have ever visited.

This experience was riddled with issues attempting to pick up the truck. With being told the key wasn't for me, to waiting well over an hour to receive my key, to being yelled that the check in guy had been calling me for two hours ( even though I was at location on time and only an hour had passed). I have had great experiences with uhaul before, specifically the uhaul on Merrimac Road near me. So I'm not sure I would chalk this experience up to uhaul as a whole, but this location provided the worst moving experience I've had this far

Owner Rick checked me out quick showing no problems as it was returned clean and filled up. Noting mileage and full tank as delivered I received an okay Email from U-Haul in a few minutes. Rick called me back on a courtesy call which was appreciated. He is busy but honest and thoughtful.

Rick called me and asked if I would be returning the vehicle on time. I told him I would be returning it early and he ensured me that he'd be there to receive it. He was not at the drop off location upon return. The drop off building looks like it came out of a horror movie. Inside the building are piles of trash/refuse from what looks like a hoarder. I tossed the keys in the drop box and got out of there as fast a possible. The next day, once the truck was processed, I was charged a cleaning fee which I have formally disputed with U-Haul. This was not a good experience and I will not use U-Haul in my next move.

Hours late with 6-7 people waiting to rent. Our reservation was changed to this location. The place was an absolute disaster. I would not have pulled into the location if I didn't have my reservation changed to it. Looked like an abandoned junkyard. I have no idea why you have them represent U-Haul.

A $45 cleaning charge was applied. In the truck a $25 cleaning fee was indicated. ???!!!???

When we got there somehow the 1 800 number for customer service gave our truck away to someone that was there. Our key was in the lock box and they got out code when they called, the u haul location was not open yet but the guy came in early to try to help us out. He ended up having a 10 foot truck available whoch thankfully fit everything i needed it to. After driving 45 mins to get the truck it was really frustrating.
