The truck was clearly used for a landscaping job and not cleaned after. The bed of the truck was absolutely infested with ants, especially under the back left corner of the mat that covers the bed. I even saw an ant on the windshield when driving. In addition, the entire truck was covered in dirt. Finally, Bobby working at the store was completely unhelpful - he tried telling me just to call UHaul to get road side service to help me (what would even be the point of that?). I called UHaul and spent over an hour on hold/being transferred between different departments. Eventually I had to hang up and just use the disgusting, dirty truck because I had 8 hours to be out of my apartment. Worst truck quality and customer service I've had with UHaul.Tori B.

First of all, when I placed this reservation online, it was for the Sterling VA location. I only found the reservation was moved to the Reston location upon arriving at the Sterling location. I checked out in-person with the desk person who emailed me everything. I lost my phone during the rental. When returning it was very difficult not being able to scan a qr code on site. The location is not the problem, I was booked to pick up my truck at Church Falls and last minute when I was in the line, they changed my location, NO explanation from the location, No sense of empathy, they just say "call the 1-800 number", like they didn't care. Why you changed my location?, BAD PLANNING. Then you want to squeeze me more money on miles for your mistake? Why charging me $2.38 for extra 5 miles when YOU sent me 20 miles away to pick up my truck? NOT FAIR, bad business. If I'd complain to BBB you would lose ratings, and you know I'm right and you are wrong. I deserve an apology.LUIS Z.

The owner is extremely arrogant and I did not feel I was valued as a customer. Next time, I would rent a U-Haul vehicle from another location. The owner started boasting about how much he made which did not seem relevant to me and the number of side businesses he had. The owner was Indian and he had an issue of superiority complex which was hilarious that he is better than Pakistanis which he knew I was. It was a mistake giving my business to this person. This person should have his U-Haul renting lease revoked.Ali C.

The owner had my Uhaul parked so close that I could barely get in and the mirrors could not be extended out. There was also a car (in the owners possession as part of his service station) extremely close to the rear of my uhaul truck, so I stated I am not comfortable backing it out (without even being able to have mirrors) as I was afraid of hitting the sedan, he said he would not move the sedan and I can take the truck or â€œleave it!â€ I again pressed and stated I simply don't want to hit the other vehicle due to no mirrors and he shouted, â€œyou hit it, then you own it!â€ Fortunately, someone was able to guide me out. And the fact that I could barely open the door to enter the truck could be an accessibility issue, which is a protected status by law. It's not unreasonable to request doors being able to be opened. I do not recommend renting from this location. This persons attitude was appalling.David R.

The AC wasn't working properly. When we reported it to the store owner/manager, he said â€œroll down your windowsâ€. He didn't even come forward to check the nature of issue. It was such a hot day and we suffered a lot on our driveSOUMYA K.
The individual that I dealt, Bobby, with was unprofessional. I got several messages to come early and start my 24 hours because others needed the truck. When I arrived at UHaul, the vehicle wasn't ready and Bobby wasn't able to give us a time frame of when it would be ready. Bobby then stated that I should go to the nearby wine bar and get drunk cause "he prefers to deal with his customers that way". I took that as Bobby/UHaul was promoting drinking and driving. I dropped the vehicle off at UHaul late that evening but kept the keys since I had the vehicle until 1430 the next day. Early the next morning, Bobby called and texted demanding that I bring the keys. A hour later, Bobby continued to text now threatening that he has spare keys and if he uses them, I'll incur more charges. I will never rent from Bobby's UHaul again; poor customers service and it was stressful dealing with him.ERIKGORDON M.

I checked in online so I just had to grab the keys and go, but the lady wasn't able to do so. She asked for all the information again. The guy that works there was rude to not only us but other customers. A customer walked in and asked which line he had to be in to buy cigarettes, the guy working there told him his line, once he got to the front he said and which cancers sticks would you like to poison yourself with. When we were leaving he tried to tell us that next time we should check in online to save time. And then continued to talk down to us. I told him I did because we had a time crunch, then he say well I didn't know that. He also yelled at another person that was having an oil change done. My rental had ants all over the dash. Also my tire was @ 5psi had the stop to put air into the tire 2 times. Costing me $3.00. The shifter was bumping gears. Was almost late for my pick up. Because of all of these delaysALEXANDERSERGEI G.
My first issue was with the contact free option. It did not work. Your app was unable to determine my location even though locations services were enabled on my phone. I wasted time placing a contact free reservation ahead of time. I doubt that contact free options even existed at this location because the attendant handed me my key at the end of my registration. If the appointment was truly contactless, wouldn't the key have been in a lock box with a combination code? The second issue I had was the vehicle I was assigned had a bald tire/metal exposed and tire gouged in two areas. I discovered this during the checkout inspection. I brought it to the attention of the owner/operator who acknowledged the tire issue was a pre-existing condition. One, why is this vehicle in service? Two, why do I have to bring this issue to light?DEANH H T.
The light saying the back passanger side door was open was on the entire time I had vehicle, even tho door was shut, this caused the back storage area light to stay on all the time except, after driving a a few minutes it would turn off for drive, but then as soon as you out vehicle in park the light came back on and there was no way to get it turned off. Stayed on while parked. Luckily I only had teuck for a few hours, but if I had to park overnight it would have killed the battery and been a major issue. Plus it was uncomfortable leaving it at the drop off with the light stuck on. The staff didn't mention anything about the issue to me before I left, they should have warned me , seemed like they got it off when they jumped it that morning and then avoided telling me the door sensor would be an issue so I wasn't driving around worried about it. Plus I stopped to check the door mutiple times and spent a long period of time trying to get it off that was time wasted. The door was always fully closed and locking properly when I checked on it.Teran S.
When I picked up the truck, it had some trash debris in the cargo area and I didn't think anything of it so I didn't note it on the pre inspection. When I returned the truck a few hours later, I also had left some carpet fibers, not much at all and I was charged $35 for cleaning when the car wasn't even given to me completely clean. Make sure you vacuum and dust the truck before you return it. At this location there is no customer parking, be prepared to walk across the street or park along the street, if you can find parking in those areas.Sandra V.

Only one comment. When we picked it up the tank was at 7/8 full. When I filled it upon return, it's impossible to figure out when the tank is 7/8 full, so I just filled it. When I asked about that I was told I get no credit on my bill for returning it with more gas than there was when I picked it up. Seems to me that every truck should be at full or I should get a credit for returning it with more gas.Helen Q.
My bill for 3 days of a rental van was over $200. At $19.95/day and $.69/mile with 104 miles, I am at a loss for the excess charges. Very disappointed and won't do it again.David H.
This is a great U-Haul location with a good selection of trucks. I have spoken to Linda on more than one occasion and have returned to this location specifically because of her. She has gone out of her way for me on more than one occasion and is friendly and knowledgeable about UHaul rentals, and is also not afraid to get involved to help ensure I always have a positive rental experience. They charged me for cleaning when the truck had glass when I picked it up. It didn't think it will be a big deal until they put the cleaning charge on my bill. Nothing of mine broke during the move. I filled up the tank and took a picture of the mileage. If did all that why I wouldn't clean glass because I didn't want to be charged extra. They are very dishonest people. But they were very nice and friendly when I picked up the truck. I trusted them and only checked the mileage and the gas before driving off. To anyone using uhaul in the future, don't trust what they are saying to you, Check everything, even the littlest thing can come back and hurt you.OMEYAKANADINE M.

First of all, the guy who worked at the station where I picked up the truck was very disrespectful toward my mother. â€œThe problem with women is that they never listenâ€ was what he said. Needless to say my mother and I were very offended by this sexist comment. Secondly, I made a reservation for a one way, 15 foot truck. I was told that this was unavailable, and was only allowed to use a 10 foot truck which had to be returned to the same station. This ended up costing me about $20 more than it would have if I had been able to drop off my truck at the Uhaul right down the street from where I was moving to instead of having to drive back 18 miles to where I picked it up from (which included an additional $9 in tolls). Granted, I had made two separate reservations, bc I didn't notice that this was an option until I had already made the first one, but he had absolutely no interest in hearing what I had to say about it, even though there were about 7 one way, 15 foot trucks clearly sitting on the lot, and the one way reservation I had made had my picture on it (drivers license). It would not have been difficult to remedy the situation. I would probably use Uhaul again but I will never bring business to this location again. If I acted the way this man acted while I was at work I would not get paid. It is not difficult at all to treat a friendly paying customer with respect. Would give one star, but the truck functioned well and was clean, except for a cardboard sign that must have been left by the last customer. And I was able to get my toll pass back (with some difficulty and insults) after I accidentally left it in the truck.MONICAANN S.
