My entire experience from the day before my rental was to be picked up was terrible. No truck available. Not the location I needed. Got there & was told none of the supplies I ordered were there (although they were wrong on that one) and no Jack or way of connecting tow behind. Weighed a ton & was left to me & my 76 year old husband to figure it out. Would never recommend UHaul to anyone. Made a stressful situation worseConrad G.

We arrived and picked up our scheduled truck, but NOT at our preferred location. Then had to go to second location to pick up our tow dolly. Both places out of our way. Then we find out that the trucks tow hitch is broken and have to go to a third location to pick up a new truck. At that point we learn we are now to head to a 4th location bc the tow dolly TOO is broken and we needed it to our car West. We arrive at that location only to be told that it's at another location and as we get up the road we receive a call to go back to that last location as they do have one after all. Our day should of started at 10am and instead this took from 10am to 3pm to pick up our two items. Absolutely ridiculous! This put us behind in loading to leave West and we were working on a time deadline due to a new job and signing papers for our home. We lost an entire day due to terrible equipment and poor customer service! We spent extra money in gas doing all of this back and forth driving all over the place and the answer from u-haul was that they'd give us more kms free of charge which we did NOT need so it was a pointless attempt at making it right! Keep in mind, we had to ask! It wasn't offered. We were upgraded from a 20ft truck to a 26ft truck which we didn't need but at least it worked. However, the bigger truck cost us that much more in gas to get West. We were also upgraded on the dolly from a partial to a full dolly, again not something we needed but at least it worked. So after 5hours and 5 stops at various locations and countless frustrating poor customer service interactions we were on our way! We noted our drop off location was UNKNOWN and were advised that was best so we wouldn't incur a charge if we picked a specific location and then had to return it elsewhere. As you can guess, we get to a drop off location to return it (2 days early) and they wanted to charge us over $600 bc someone only marked one of the two items as â€œunknownâ€ â€¦ this was AFTER we even called ahead to the 800 # to ensure we didn't run in to any issues. It's unbelievable how this company stays in business! The truck cost and trailer cost came to $7100 approximately and that was DOUBLE the price all bc when we originally booked the items we had booked it for a week later. And when our obligations with our new home & job changed we had to move it up a weekâ€¦can you imagine it DOUBLED?? We have NEVER been more disgusted and disappointed in a company. This is what happens when companies like this are essentially a monopoly. They can do whatever they wish! Do yourself a favour and find ANY other company to use!!!Scott P.
Dropping off the utility trailer went without hitch and I was out of there in just a couple minutes. The parking lot is very large so it makes it easy to back up the utility trailer.Brad J.

I ordered a truck from Huntsville. I got a call the next day saying the truck went out of service. So they found me one in Bracebridge. That was fine but the move I was doing was all in huntsville. So I got charged more mileage because I had to drive back and forth which I'm not happy aboutJames F.

Vehicle was in poor operating condition. Major transmission issues, exhaust leak, front end problems. This vehicle smelled like it had been heavily smoked in. I would have asked for a different vehicle if we needed to travel more than the short distance required.Mike F.
I would only say it was easy to find and easy to find your equipment. I would not recommend it based on service although it was not the clerks fault. She sat on hold waiting for assistance for 20 minutes - twice.Roberta K.

You folks need to work on your communications for locations like this. First the location for pick up was change to a place a 45 minute drive away. The woman I spoke with to arrange this confirmed I would have a lock box. Got there bright and early: no lockbox. My ride had another engagement. I spent an hour in the cold, 7:30-8:30 am, because the app told me I had to wait for the location to open at 10. 30 minutes of waiting on hold later I was informed that someone in the adjacent hotel would be able to help me. Fortunately one of the two staff members at the hotel who knows how to do this was on duty at this time, otherwise I would have been 2 1/2 hours behind on an already very long day. I know you are a complex operation, but there was no consistency on this: everyone I spoke to seemed to have different information in front of them. The employees were all fine enough-this is a comms issue.Michael M.

The issue isn't the location, the issue is about Uhaul as a company. When a truck size has been reserved this is what the customer should be getting, this is how people plan their moving day. Moving blankets should be available at all times.Lise B.

This experience was the worst when it comes to using uhaul. We had to drive 1.5 hours to pick up a truck and trailer. Our intended trailer had a flat tire so we had to downsize. The communication between us and your customer service was terrible when it came to where they were being dropped off. Overall, very disappointed.Ron D.

Pick a different location for Uhaul, I could not believe how useless everyone was at this location. The woman at the front desk was working in her pyjamasâ€¦. I was totally grossed out. May I suggest that someone from Uhaul go and visit this location, guaranteed that you change your location. Sorry, but that's an honest review â€¦Rich N.

The location was great. It was easy to access. However, the first trailer we tried the lights didn't work. Then all but 1 of the other trailers left were blocked in by snowmobile trailers from the patrons of the hotel. They need to post signs saying " do not block" or put a section of the parking lot designated to Uhaul. The employees of the hotel have no knowledge of how to hook up a trailer - and it was my understanding that from an insurance liability point of view, they either needed to hook it up themselves or review and approve before you drive away. It took me over an hour to get the trailer -- due to all the issues of the lights not working and having to get to one that wasn't blocked in. And all this time you are waiting in line again and again behind people wanting to check into the hotel The experience was very frustrating, and I don't think I would go back to that Uhual centre to get a trailer again. However, in your questions above, you only asked about what I thought about the location. And the physical location is very good.Maureen S.

My regular Uhaul location (Gravenhurst) was having system issues After 30 minutes had to try the Bracebridge location. Despite booking ahead online trailer was not ready. Trailer was stuck in snow. Required shovelings out. Attendant was not willing to remove snow. Have pictures of the trailer in the snow if you are interested. Changed trailer. Needed hammer to open door as mechanism was stuck. I applied lubricant myself to make the latch easy to use. Cannot recommend this location as representative say they are only there for booking.Harley C.
Our pickup location got moved day before, which changed our plans but was okay. When we went to the new location there was no trailer available for us. We had to drive 90 minutes round trip out of the way to pick up a trailer, which put us behind on getting out of our apartment. When we finally did get a trailer, there were no packing blankets with the trailer, which we had ordered ahead of time. The employees at the location were helpful, but the service from uhaul was terrible.Taylor G.
We had to shovel two feet of snow to get the unit out of the driveway, which took an hour. Then the truck couldn't get up the small hill to my house because the tires were so bald. We had to take the truck back and couldn't use it. I'll be calling to discuss a refund.Susan S.

I was unaware of damage to the passenger front. Manager said vehicle was unable to be rented because of service required but after waiting 20 minutes he came back and said everything is ok now but no reason why. Grill and light pieces had fallen down when I reached home. Also brakes were pulsating. Truck had summer tires.Kevin S.

drop off was a little too relaxed about us just leaving the truck, didn't check it over for damage or mileage, but understandably he was working the front desk of a hotelGORDONA R.
I wasn't happy with my overall experience with uhaul. We initially were suppose to be picking up our truck in Huntsville, but the location got changed to Bracebridge. We were happy to still have a truck, but the extra drive was a large inconvenience. When we picked up the truck in Bracebridge, it was missing the two dolly's and moving pads that I had ordered. I want to stress that the two employees that I spoke with at this hotel location were pleasant and very willing to help. The lady on site checked every other truck and trailer on site to see if our equipment was in the wrong vehicle by accident, but nothing was found. She was very kind and apologetic (though none of this was her fault). Luckily, we were able to pick up dolly's at the Huntsville location, but no moving pads were available. This was another inconvenience that we had to make a separate trip for these. There was no indication on any of my uhaul emails or texts that any equipment I ordered would not be available, and so far there has been no follow up an refunding me for the moving pads that I didn't receive. The check-in & check-out process should include confirmation on additional equipment (check in with employees and check in on customers phone/online) to better keep track of dolly's, pads, etc.Tyler M.

It is hotel staff, there is no trained haul staff to answer questions. It's basically do it yourself pick up. I booked the pick up for Parry Sound and had to go to Bracebridge to pick up the truck. It was very daunting experience for me to drive a 26 foot truck to Parry Sound through the Muskoka roads twists and turns, steep hills, etc. I had no other option, this was very inconvenient. They gave me 100 km free but this didn't cover our drive there and back in our vehicle.Susan S.

They said I'd reserved two vehicles (which was an error) but the funny thing is, the system let me reserve two but they only had one vehicle there for me. They didn't know my drop off location even though I got an email when I asked, saying that the pickup location would provide me the drop off location. The dollys were not there. The truck size was smaller than ordered and even with the trailer we had to do 3 extra pickup truck loads to get it all. This was 600 kilometers times 3 but we did get it done. Cost us a lot of extra gas I had also declined the insurance but we got charged for that also. I would like the insurances charges reverse at least. We had no choice at the time but to take the 15 foot truck and trailer instead of the 26 requested. I know we could have done it all in 1 load with the right truck.Paul L.

NEVER trust U-haul. I first reserved for a Barrie location, but one day before my pick-up day they moved to Innisfil (30 minutes driving south). I tried to call the head office but after 40 minutes nobody answers the phone. I went to Innisfil and not surprisingly there was no truck available for me there. After 50 minutes they finally found a truck for me in Bracebridge (1 hour north). The Quality Inn Bracebridge location had a good service, but my rate to U-haul is 1 star. So aggravating and stressful to deal with this disrespect one day before moving.Jocelito A.

Very happy with the location and speed of drop off. We were very fearful of not having enough gas, so we put too much into the tank. We know we are the only ones to do so and wonder what you do with the extras in terms of your company making money off the excess gasoline fill up?GRAHAM D.
