Make sure you explain the details of your rental policies at the time of rental. If you tell a customer that you have the equipment they are requesting make sure it is on site or let them know where they do have it.

I will never use Uhaul to move again. We rented a 26' truck and 6x12' trailer in September for a move at the end of October from VA to NC. The day prior to us picking up the truck and trailer, we were told that the location we had chosen to pick up the equipment, in Chesapeake, VA, was no longer available and the closest 26' truck was a 2 hour drive away in Weldon, NC. Bridget, an employee I spoke to at 757-488-4921, had the absolute worst customer service, along with her manager, who for over 2 hours was either in a meeting or on the other line, up until 5 PM when they left for the day. The only reimbursement they gave us was $50 for the "guaranteed reservation" fee. They did not even provide us money to drive the huge truck (i.e., gas money) an extra 2 hours to the location we needed to pack our belongings at in VA. The Weldon location also did not have all of the dollies we ordered. They did not have the furniture dolly or appliance dolly we ordered. The truck was also dirty on the inside, despite their threat to charge you extra if you don't return it swept out. Uhaul did not care that we were now given a 4 hour inconvenience (driving there and back), plus out all that gas money to drive it so far back to VA. 0/100 stars for Uhaul.

The return location was picked for us but nobody was there even though 3 other locations in the same town were open. We were asked to use our mobile device to checkin/ return but we couldn't get it to work on my phone where I installed the app- the reservation wasn't showing in the app so I could not hit “return truck “. when I went to the U-Haul website, it auto logged me in and wouldn't allow me the option to add the confirmation number because I had an account but no reservations. We were able to work around the issue by using another persons phone which did not have the app installed and add the reservation. The person we called for help was supportive but not able to resolve the issue, she said she would leave a comment in notes so we wouldn't get charged for not checking out. We figured out work around of using other phone after we hung up.

I was a bit agitated with the first location, Old Farm Rd Self Storage. My pickup appointment was at 2:40 PM, but when I arrived there was a note on the door stating that the company was on lunch till 3:15. Therefore, I had to schedule a pickup at a new location, which put me further behind schedule. I was told that I was going to be reimbursed the reservation guarante fee but that still has yet to be seen. The second location, Pridgen, was great. They were there within the time frame they gave us and helped us a lot. Thank you Pridgen.
