Awful U-haul experience, truck was a mess, wrong size, movers broke things and then told us they didn't want to be responsible for moving certain items, things as simple as a bed frame. Way overcharged for everything overall, but that was our 1 move day we had available so we had no choice but to move that day.

BENJAMIN PHave a live attendant, ensure the equipment you paid for is actually in the truck, move trailers out of parking spots for patrons cars. I hurt myself tripping over one while photographing the outside of the returned vehicle I'd rented, I'm not happy about this. I didn't know this site wasn't attended and the process of picking up the truck I rented didn't go smoothly over your website.
Ivory MWe had troubles with the app since my phone is older, the app crashed , but the agent on the phone helped walk us thru the process and get the check in completed.

KYLE RAllow some check-in procedures during the reservation process. Had to call for app assistance as the process put me into a logic circle.
Terrance MI did not like the fact that the safe move coverage of $15 per day was something that was not optional and could not be waived. Please consider changing your policy. My insurance company covers me when driving another vehicle. I'd also recommend Uhaul to consider setting a certain level of miles that does not require the customer to refuel the vehicle (maybe under 25 miles). It isn't really worth the hassle to refuel the vehicle when you only used 1 or possibly 2 gallons of gas. My last suggestion and I was disappointed Uhaul doesn't do this but I had to rent my vehicle over the weekend because Uhaul wasn't open on Saturday or Sunday and I got charged for a full day on Monday when I returned it at 9:30 am. I would have hoped that the charges for Monday would have been removed. Anything you can do to address these points will be greatly appreciated and all of your other customers will be very pleased as well. Sincerely, Larry Hubert.

Gapapa NVery disappointed in the pick up option. The app was very difficult to use. I had to call, waited on hold for 15 minutes . I was supposed to be able to pick up at 4:00pm and end never left until 5:15 and still given a 4:00pm return time. Very disappointed in the service.

Meghan VThe driver side door was extremely difficult to close. The bracket for the dolly was broken and the dolly fell down while I was driving. Fortunately nothing was damaged. The engine made odd noises as if there was a mechanical issue. In addition, there was a politically divisive large sticker in full view at the service counter, and the tv was showing a program which featured extremely foul language. As a democrat, LGBT woman, I felt very uncomfortable in this business, as though I needed to make sure the employee would not discover my orientation or guess at my political affiliation so that I would be treated as a valued customer. I would not recommend this business to friends, and sadly, I suspect the owner would prefer that I didn't.

GAPAPA NThe "timeout" period for after hour pickups is not convenient. Due to traffic, I was an hour past the pickup time. There was no indication in the app or website that I wouldn't be able to use the app to pickup the truck. I had to wait on hold with customer service. If the app/website had some notification, or button to click to contact customer service, that would have helped. Better yet, since the time that you pickup the truck, as long as it is before your return time, shouldn't really matter, so it would be great if that timer were removed. The issues with the pickup time expiring turned a 5-10 minute experience into close to an hour.

Emmanuel DI was told I have to take the insurance and he hit next on his computer before I could decline it. I told him I am covered and I don't want the insurance and I know that U-Haul does not require it. He told me well I do and if you don't take it I won't rent you the trailer and you will have to go to another location. I have had no past issues with U-Haul but I would have to assume this is against corporate policy. Next time I will go to Penske.

brenda hSaid they closed at 5 but no one was there. Had a lot of trouble with the app again. Horrible app! Kept crashing. Also Google maps gives the wrong directions down a dead end street. This needs to be fixed in Google! And noted on the U-Haul site. Also this form is horrible. Why offer an N/A option if I have to choose yes or no anyway??? U-Haul tech need a lot of infrastructure improvement.
Brent RThe guy at the point of pickup used profanity, had absolutely no professional demeanor; the place was filthy and actually stinks inside and the truck was NOT cleaned out, including bugs crawling around.
Joe AThe gentleman at the rental facility was very nice and professional but I would not rent from u haul again. The truck I reserved was not available and I was forced to take a larger one. This truck cost a lot more in terms of gas and tolls and it was much harder to drive. Moreover I didn't have close to enough to fill it so it moved around/shifted a lot. You should honor the terms of the reservation. Bumper of vehicle was also literally stuck on with black duct tape. The person staffing the facility was nice but trucks were in poor shape and not the one I reserved.
Rebecca FTrucks were parked very close together - I had to climb in through the passenger side, and couldn't adequately check the driver side of the truck in the initial pickup check. Customer service rep Monica from the traffic dept is EXCELLENT and was extremely helpful with my rental. ¡Gracias!

kevin cI have used Pleasant Hill Auto ANY TIME I need a Uhaul. I think they are one of the best locations in the area. The owner is super nice and great to work with. He always has inventory/selection and his vehicles are always clean!!
Kaitlin gOk.... so, where to start. First off, this did not look like an actual uhaul rental location. It's like a crappy towing shop that happens to have an odd amount of vehicles in their lot. But here is why.... the guy who works there is super friendly and cute, but he got the used car dealer thing going on. He uses that charm to lul innocent girls into a false sense of security.... then he over charges the fuck out of them. First off, he forced me to take the insurance, which I don't believe location's are allowed to do. I've rented maybe 23 uhauls in my life, all from different locations.... I've never had an accident and never been forced to get the insurance. This dude literally said he would refuse the sale if I didn't. I literally laughed at first, I thought he was joking. But he was dead serious. And the next location that had a cargo van was all the way up in Portland. So we were not about to waste that much gas and miles for no reason. So we just accepted the insurance. But then we got to the estimated milage, and I said you know 10 or 15 miles. We'll just adjust it. I had already calculated the total miles from the uhaul place to my storage unit, to where we were taking our stuff, then back to the uhaul. It was 17 miles! Thus I said 15, and he was like "oh no, we aren't lying here. Biddeford is at least 15 miles away, you're going to need at least 30. I only over estimate"; for info, I have a mailing address in Biddeford, but I stay in saco(all of that is none of his business, nor is what i am moving or where im moving it to. Complete violation of customers privacy)... in the end, we got back and ended up getting refunded for the 14 something extra he made us pay in miles. I will definitely never be coming back, and will be actively steering anyone away from there.

Sonya MI was not told beforehand that this location "automatically adds in the insurance" when ever a truck is rented. We used the truck maybe 2 hours, locally. That was added cost I didn't care to cover. Central reserved us for a truck at "noon" and when we got to the site, there wasn't anyone there to complete the process! I paid 2 people to sit around and wait for someone to return from lunch. Not acceptable. And the man I initially reserved with at Central was bored and unhelpful. He actually tried to rent me a truck at a site that DIDN'T HAVE ONE AVAILABLE. I had to ask him to check, whereupon he did and said there was NO truck. Then he said., "Oh, there's one a mile away." It was actually 3 miles away and across a city and body of water. That takes time that I am paying workers. So, there is a serious disconnect between Central and your franchise sites. I doubt you will fix it but honestly if I had any other choice I wouldn't use U-haul anymore due to this disconnect. I will NEVER use the So. Portland U-haul again. Period. You advertise that the rental is "$19.98" but with all the little add-ons it was more like $50.

Jacques KWe used this as a pickup location on one trip and a drop off for a second trip. We were informed, via text, on our pick up day that the trailer We reserved was not available there and we had to go to a different, in city location. At drop off We entered a building with no personnel visible but could hear someone on a very personal phone call..We waited for about 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk. In the future we will use the in city location for both pick up and drop off.
