When I dropped off the U-Haul trailer, the person was more than helpful but even they had a problem with what the person in Newbern North Carolina did. He took a simple process and made it ridiculous!

Terrible experience with U-Haul and this location. Do NOT recommend. Dropped off van in mint condition after using only a few hours. Later was billed over 300$ for damage. Asked for proof of damage, entire staff was unresponsive to calls and claim. Called area manager with no response either.

You get pulled in for a low price to rent of $20 but then get charged two dollars a mile taxes and fees wind up costing too much to rent

The key to the vehicle was not in the lock box as arranged so we had to wait two hours for the store to open. The owner took the key off of a wall hook and handed it to me without apology. He could not care less about screwing up our plans for the move and the rest of the day. I called the area manager's number and NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM HER.

I was disappointed by two thitngs: 1. Pick up was to be at 8 a.m. but the site was not opened until 10 a.m. 2. I made the arrangements at one site, but had to pick up the truck at another site. Seems like the original place should have gotten the truck for me.

I picked up a trailer for rental at 8 pm on a Thursday. The original trailer I wanted was not available. No biggie. My card had already been ran for a 5x8 but a 6x12 was all they had. My truck could handle it so I took that. They had to reauthorize my card for the difference. I used the trailer Friday and returned it that evening around midnight. I look at my bank statement a week later and see I have been charged 85 and some change for a three day rental!!! I only had the trailer for 28 hours. If U-Haul wants to charge me a full day extra for four hours over since that trailer is not able to be rented, that’s fine. But to tack on an extra day when that trailer was back in their fleet is unacceptable. Now I have to wait while an investigation is done before the mistake they made can be rectified. I remember when customers were taken at their word and made whole on the spot. The fact that my history is on file and shows I use U-Haul several times a month should have been enough to warrant an immediate refund for their oversight. I will be looking into purchasing my own trailer soon so this will never happen again.

I drove the whole day in trailer mode with the trailer yellow light on. I did not turn it on so I think the Uhaul representative that gave me the vehicle missed it. I think they should be more thorough. I have no other complaints and overall the service was excellent.

I was not notified by my original pick up location Route 347 Smithtown to go to another location for the trailer. I was told that the Ronkonkoma location failed to notify me of this. This is a hassle when you have others waiting to help who took time out to do so.

Truck had unusable headlights pointing above the road instead of onto the road. Very unsafe to drive at night, had to stay in a hotel and drive during the day. Driver door key didn’t work so had to climb in from the passenger seat every time. Not the location’s problem but Uhaul’s fault.
