Rodney MWell I was told if it takes longer to travel and if the weather is holding us up it was ok to keep the rental longer as long as I don't go after the miles. I had rain and bad weather and couldn't load for 2 days. So instead of it being ok it cost me about 50% more the thought. So that was an awful thing to happen. Right now I have a lot in my plate, with my dad dying and what to do with his belongings in a different state. So it would have been better to have the time I was told.

VALENTE OMy original reservation was not at this location. The original location, the U-haul location at 2318 NW Vine St, Grants Pass, OR 97526, had rented the trailer that was reserved for me to someone else earlier this morning, and was not willing to let me take the one in the lot as it was apparently for local use only, not a one way rental that I had reserved for. They made a call to a central U-haul line and responded that some would be calling me later. At that time that was all I heard from them, no apology or anything, just wait for a call. I left the building at that time, but decided I needed more information than that and went back in to see if I could get more details about what was supposed to be happening about the reservation that they had decided to rent to someone else. There was another person working who finally offered an explanation of what I could expect and finally offered an apology. He looked at the computer system and saw that someone was looking at my reservation as he was looking at it and that I could expect to be contacted soon, probably within the hour. The other gentleman who was there previously gave no such reassurance, just a dead stare, saying "they will call you." I was NOT satisfied with the experience with that person at the Vine Street location at all.
MICHAEL HI swept out the uhaul and left it as clean as possible and I was charged a $25 cleaning fee. I dropped the vehicle off when the location was closed, so I did not see the inside of the location or meet any employees. I spoke to someone on the phone about the cleaning fee and she tried to look at pictures they had taken. The images would not load at the time I was talking to her, so she said she would talk to the employee who checked the truck in and if the charge was a mistake, she would issue a credit but it could take a few days to go through. I believe they try to charge everyone the $25 cleaning fee and figure that most people won't check their final receipt. Another complaint that I have is the limited mileage that uhaul allows from Klamath Falls to Grants Pass. It is exactly 120 miles from the house where we loaded the uhaul to the property where we unloaded the uhaul. So I got charged an extra $12 to drive from the Klamath Falls uhaul to the house we were loading up and the extra miles to the uhaul location in Grants Pass. Luckily I was able to stop at a gas station on the way to the second location. Uhaul has gotten very stingy. If I could have found a different rental company I would have.

ZELJKO BThe truck was dirty and had multiple issues. The steering wheel was over 8 inches off center. It was so far off it blocked the gauges and the turn signal cancel did not work. Engine ran poor and sputtered
Robert FMaybe have some kind of backup plan for some sort of spare key when a person locks the dang key inside the rented U-Haul vehicle.
Charles DVehicle was clean for the most part. However, the windshield was not cleaned & was caked with splattered insects.

April HIf you have a large RV rig dropping off a trailer, access is very limited.

Heather SI didn't realize the place was closed on the weekends. I didn't like doing self checkout on the cell phone. I dont believe i should have been charged an extra 10 dollars. That was upsetting to me.
ashley eWhen I reserved the trailer online, I specifically checked the "no insurance" box. When picking up the trailer, the Uhaul rep verbally confirmed that I did not want insurance. Unfortunately, I was still charged $30.00 for insurance that I refused, twice.

Janie WThis was the first time I did the electronic check out the car yourself, electronic, pick up, or whatever you call it. It was easy and worked really well and I was super relieved to be able to get a U-Haul van on Sunday night. Thanks U-Haul. I recently did a cross-country move and hired professional movers. I wish I had just rented a large U-Haul truck and did it myself for a quarter of the cost. I think I chose to hire professional movers because I didn't want to do the driving in a big truck. But a 24 foot U-Haul truck really isn't that hard to manage, and it can get up your country driveway and right up to your house, whereas a giant, moving van cannot. the movers couldn't even drop the stuff off at my house without charging a bunch of extra money.. So I really didn't get much of the value of hiring professional movers, but I paid an exorbitant sum of money.. I could have done it myself, managed my own belongings, not had to wait for them to arrive, not mix up everything by loading into different trucks, not have some local clowns packing and unpacking it for me, etc..

Mario KIt would have been nice if you mentioned it's twice the amount if you take it back to a different location! I didn't even get the paperwork. I was in too much of a frenzy to have read it anyway. Next time let people know stuff like that! It would've been easy enough to do.

Jill ROnline pickup process needs refined. I never knew I needed to download an app to do it. I was using the website and it wasn't working. Then was directed to the app if I knew ahead of time; this process would've taken 2-5 minutes versus 30. The "approval process" waiting to get the keys/code was horrendous. I waited looking at the key box for 10 minutes while the "waiting for approval " icon spun around and around and around and around and so on till I got very mad. Clicked on need help /chat button and got someone who immediately approved it. So what was that? BTW all this was done online weeks before this encounter so it wasn't me. BTW. Even though my phone location was on and my phone knew right where I was(verified 3 times) this app would not find me and said I had to be near or at my rental before the process would start. Well guess what!!!!!!!!!!! I was looking in the windows of the thing. Close enough? Nope. This took another 5 minutes In the meantime, I was to pickup the rental at 0900 and left the lot at 0930. So if you're time pressed this is not the way for you over the weekend. The convenience of the app is NOT convenient. However the checkin and checkout process on the app is very useful and helpful for proving condition of equipment before and after

john aIt was well-maintained, but dirty at pick up time they did clean it for me, which was appreciated. One issue I have which is U-Haul in general not the location on the 6 x 12 open trailer with ramp on the tongue latch. There is no pin. I thought they forgot to put a pin in at my pick up location so I stopped at another location in Northern California and they told me that they do not use the pin on any of the U-Haul trailers. Which could be a flaw I know their spring loaded, but anybody at a rest stop restaurant overnight could pull that spring loaded latch and trailer could come unhooked just a little concerning to me. I bought my own pen and put in there for my trip…

I notified Patrick at the dowel Road site where I turned in the truck. The truck was clean and ran well except for the noise
MERLE OWe needed a trailer to bring our daughters car home. There were none to be found over the 4th of July weekend. This u-haul had one trailer that came in that day, and we were able to rent it for the evening to get the car home. It was wonderful that they were willing to let us use it since it was already reserved to go out the following morning.

Patricia BI have rented uhauls for about 30 years for all of my moves. The truck was filthy inside and out bird crap all over the window. Dirty on the inside you could tell they never swept it. The sales guy said I don't do uhaul. It was a hassle checking out then turning in like I was bothering him. They also didn't load up dolly and pads I had to tell them after the other uhaul place told them I needed them. They're attitude stunk. They also sell used cars and I will never shop there or do any kind of business there again. Laurie

Troy GRented a car dolly and their service person hooked it up for me, which was nice, but after driving a block the tire hold down straps were dangling. Had I not stopped, the straps would have been damaged. This is after being told I was clear to go.

William TThe self check in was a little tricky to navigate, but customer service was very helpful and got us on the road. We rent from this location often and have always returned the trucks to be inspected in the same location, but this time it was after hours though a member of the car lot team was on hand and complained about where the trucks were left, just let us know about the location they should be returned in the case of after hours drop off and we will be happy to oblige.

However, I had reserved the same equipment from a different site and was told at 8 o'clock which was my pick up time that I could not pick up that piece of equipment and had to wait to get another piece of equipment, I had already scheduled out my day and it put me behind schedule and irritated me from the lack of communication from U-Haul.
