It is difficult to assess a truck that came with a quarter tank of gas and was required to return with that amount. The truck had half tank of gas in it and clearly I lost considerable money in my transit. Most rental places fill the tank and it is required to be filled in return., Why not U-Haul? The perk of returning a truck to a lot that had plenty of vehicles all available was a time consuming and worthless exercise to interrupt a move in for such "convenience" to U-Haul. The manager at the return location was uninformed and actually surprised on the return of the vehicle to his lot.

I was I hour and 34 min late turning it in and was charged for another day. They never said anything to me about being charged another day. They acted like it wasn't even an issue. Had they asked I would have explained to them the reason I was late is because the brakes wouldnt release on the trailer when I headed back to come home.

1. Tell the truth. I was told that I would not be double billed and I was. Whether this was your fault or the main office I don't know but the money has not been put back in my account 3 days later like I was told. 2. Clean the inside and outside of your trucks. The windshield was severely cracked, interior floor was sticky and dirty and small toys had been left in the interior.

Honor they reservations they make. Uhaul does not honor any reservations anymore. There is absolutely no point in making a reservation online in advance - days, weeks, months, it makes no difference. Especially if you put your credit card information in to hold the vehicle you chose to reserve as they will simply change the reservation to a different location and vehicle as they see fit, whether it suits your needs or not, even at the last minute.

Make the computer system alil easier for rental place to use

The gentlemen inside were slow and did not know how to work the system very well. On top of that, while getting on the interstate, the trailer fell off of the hitch! Thankfully we had not picked up our cargo yet and thankfully the safety chains caught the tongue.

Perhaps speed up the processing time needed on the computer--the gentlemen who rented the truck to us was very nice and very personable, but it took him a great deal of time to get through all the computers screens needed to let the truck go. Simplifying checkout would do a lot to improve the rental experience.
