Nothing, everyone was super friendly from the time I picked up the cargonvan to the time I dropped it off. I am very pleased with the way the service was delivered and will definitely tell my friends and colleagues about it. Awesome work Ace Hardware, New Albany OH!

Nothing to improve. This Ace Hardware is super clean. Everyone is outstanding.They are prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. The location is immaculate. The equipment was perfect. I hope they have enough Uhaul equipment for rental. It’s now my go to. I will be back. I highly recommend it.

Uhaul was covered with dog hair - wasn't cleaned prior to me getting it. Other than that, super convenient location and went pretty smooth.

No keys outside. Had to go in to get them. And then no drop box to return. Also the 6 requested furniture pads were not in the van. Someone in the store did get them for me when I asked. When I opt for the mobile rental option I think you call it truck share, it’s extremely disappointing to have to go into the store to ask for the key and go into the store to ask for the pads, and go back into store drop off the key. You should turn off this option if your vendors cannot get it right

The staff at Ace Hardware where I picked up my cargo van were terrific. The van was ready on time, in excellent shape, and provided me just what I needed to move a large number of boxes. Based on all this, I have no suggestions for improvement.

This location was very nice and convenient. Jeannette was very personable and helpful. Jim was also good. On the other hand, the U-Haul online software was totally non-functional and frustrating. The “approval/dispute” buttons and the “take a photo” buttons did not work, and I lost my comments twice before it finally timed out, over 30 minutes!! That was a total waste of time. I would prefer a simple piece of paper to sign!!

When they were getting my information to make the rental the lady basically said that there would be a 10 dollar fee for insurance for renting the van. She did not ask me if I wanted to take the insurance but told me that there would be a charge. I found this appalling! Only after I inquired about it did she say that there would be a bunch of steps to take to decline this option. Knowing that I was in a hurry I guess she assumed that I would just say put it on. Obviously, there is an incentive to sell this insurance add on and I find that is is a bad look for the Ace hardware location renting the van. Of course, U=haul could care less about the reputation of Ace. I will look for other van rental options in the future.

There was no heat in the cargo van. We traveled 96 miles one way in 6 degree temperatures in a cold van. Road side service couldn’t fix the issue and most everyone didn’t seem to care. We finally spoke with someone who got us a different uhaul for the return trip. When returning it at Ace Hardware I was advised they couldn’t take it because it wasn’t their van. Again no concern of our travel in freezing conditions. After some discussion they accepted it. Someone should have checked the equipment before sending us out in it. I do expect a refund!

I believe the blankets were treated with some kind of insecticide maybe to prevent bedbugs. Anyway when we were using them, we started coughing and sneezing after we deployed the blankets. Total coincidence for both of us? Possibly. But it’s improbable.

I signed up for the mobile pickup but they didn’t put the keys in the lockbox so I had to go inside and wait in line while customers in front of me bought their Ace Hardware items just to get my keys, it took 20 minutes just to pick up the van. Then when I returned it I dropped off the key and went to leave and was told I had to wait for them to check me out even though again I did the mobile pickup. So I waited while 2 separate employees tried to look me up in the computer. Finally the manager comes over and explains to them that I did mobile pickup and there is no looking me up in the computer so I was allowed to leave. Terrible experience. What’s the point of a mobile pickup if you have to go inside and wait in line?

There was no drop box, so when I returned the truck, I didn’t know what to do with the keys. The mobile app said to just leave them in the Uhaul drop box, I walked the grounds multiple times and did not find a drop box. I called Uhaul and spent almost an hour on the phone, with no answer or resolution. Very frustrating to deal with after a long day of moving.

My only issue is they did not have the appliance dolly I requested in the van and I forgot to check before I left. Turned out I had 4 strong younger guys to take care of the washer and dryer so it was not an issue. Store credited back the dolly cost so it ended up a wash. Great people at the New Albany Ace Hardware!

The cooperate online service was disorganized. I called in to check the truck out and the guy was so intent on getting contacts if we didn't bring the truck back on time or stealing the truck, that he didn't see that the location didn't do remote pickup. You had to still go inside to get the keys. Talking to him wasted 30 minutes just for me to call in and find that out.

The store's computer system and it's integration with uhaul was a mess. The owner of the store was very apologetic and helpful, but there was no record of the reservation for the person in front of me (even after showing confirmation on his phone), and there was no record of my reservation either. He was turned away, and I was fortunate to have a van available. Both pickup and drop off took 30 minutes each because of computer issues.
