The ratchet straps : the ratchets are rusty so it was super hard to get them to release I would recommend taking the ratchets apart and sanding off the rust and oiling the mechanics of the ratchet part.timothy W.

The truck was in bad shape, the wipers would not clear the windows the check gas cap light was continuously on, the truck needed swept out before I could use it. Then I was double charged for two of my days that I had the truck. Then I was given an invoice saying I owe a thousand dollars after I had tried to get in touch with your corporate office, about extending my rental.Brian K.

I was on phone for 90 minutes with customer service because reservation clerk mistyped my e mail address. Between long hold time and reps not having answers and having to transfer me it was THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIECE EVER. I had rented 4 months ago and process was super. This was a nightmare.Alison G.

The guy who works as the UHaul manager at this location is awesome. He helped me out big time in a pinch and got me in a truck in a tiny manner. Will definitely rent from this location again, it was such a good experience and so cost effective I may rent a truck to move things that could easily be moved by car!LARKIN C.

I originally reserved from the Ames location and when I arrived to pick up trailer they had no reservation for me! I reserved in person on Monday June 7th. I had to pick up in Newton for that was the closet location with the trailer I needed! It was an hour out of my way and an hour back! But I needed it that day! Very upsetting!LISA C.

Uhaul website doesn't indicate if rental equipment is available at desired location so you get surprised with a call that you need to travel to another location to get your rental. This is not acceptable. Tell me at the website that I need to travel to get me rental equipment. I will look at other rental companies in the future because of this.CHAD E.

U haul customer service phone number was a 20 minute wait when I called that night when I returned the vehicle. After 35 minute telephone wait. I hung up and called Nehring Auto and left a messege the vehicle was back.Kelly Z.

I was charged a fee for dropping off a trailer that I was not told I would be charged.MICHELLE M.
I got there alittle before 130 time I had it set up to be picked up and they door was locked and the window said out for lunch until 2. I called the number a few times and no one answered finally someone showed up in a wrecker truck and went inside and about 5 mins later some gal opened the door then I got inside and she wanted to tell me how she was trying to eat lunch and see just didn't see that happening. I never get lunch so I know how it feels but If you know that someone's coming at 130 plan ahead.MATTHEW S.

Make sure your actual fuel amount matches your paperwork. Paperwork said 3/4 tank and it was actually under that amount. My bad for not catching it and taking a picture.JOSHUA B.

They gave us DANGEROUS EQUIPMENT. When I picked up the vehicle no one went to the lot to inspect the truck. I was told the truck and trailer was coupled and ready to go but the cab was filthy and had not been cleaned or sanitized which made me very uncomfortable what with the covid and all. My wife cleaned and sanitized the cab the best she could but it was still a nagging concern. Then after we fully loaded the truck and trailer and went to leave the next morning we realized th ef passenger seatbelt belt was torn almost completely in half and was not operable. A 1400 mile trip with NO working sealtbelt. When I called corporate they basically said " well you got to your destination so no big deal" totally marginalizing the stress the potentially contaminated cab and lack of an operable seatbelt put on both of us on such as long trip. After charging a premium 2340.00 for a beat up clunker with 110K miles on it they credited me 200 bucks which was the commission paid to Nehring Auto but refused to do anything else or reduce the cost any further. Even with their 200.00 reduction they were still 300.00 higher than their competition that were offering much nicer equipment. Only reason I went with uhaul was because I didn't want the 26' truck offered by their competition. In hindsight I should have just gotten the bigger one in much better condition. All in all it was a horrible trip in a dangerous vehicle and I will NEVER use uhaul again .. period. Save your money and protect your safety by using their competitor. I wanted to post photos of the sealtbelt but there is no place I can do it in this forum.JOHN H.
The person i called for assistance for check in was very rude and was no help what so ever and they said "We Close at NOON and you will just have to deal with offloading the trailer yourself" I was very disappointed. I will not rent or drop off to this location again.Jeremy A.

Overall very good experience. It took a bit longer than needed to get checked in due to some electronic glitches but the person assisting was working to get them fixed as soon as possible. I was unsure if the glitches were internal or with UHaul.daniel H.

There was road construction on the street leading to the entrance to this location, which blocked access to the entrance. Tried to contact this location through the online form and received a message that the contact was no longer valid. Tried for approximately one hour to reach someone to figure out how to return the truck, but was unsuccessful. We were able to return after a construction worker noticed us and unblocked a portion of the road to allow access.Joshua N.

I can't think of a negative thing to say. This was my second time, this year, using a truck from this location. Friendly, helpful staff.
