Ok, this was a cross country move where we needed to fly to Huntsville, Ont. from Calgary, Ab. pick up the ubox from Dwight, bring it to a tiny lake, pack it and bring it back to the depot, in the same weekend. When the ubox arrived, it did not get shipped with a trailer so we could not tow it from the depot. Luckily, the manager leant us a truck to use, so we drove the truck to Huntsville, loaded it, drove it to Dwight, unloaded it, loaded the ubox and then left it to be picked up. When it finally arrived a week late, I was told by your customer svc rep that you could not call when your driver was coming, nor could they wait 5 minutes (literally) for my husband to come from work (down the street from our house) but that I would need to take 4 hours unpaid from my job, to be home sometime between 10&2 for your convenience, otherwise it would be another week late. Then the driver showed up at 9:40 so thank god I got home at 9:30, otherwise I’d have missed the driver, waited for hours and then had to wait another week, according to your rep. Needless to say, your manager in Dwight was amazing for stepping up and helping out after a screw up like that, because apparently your uboxes and trailer/platforms to tow them do not go hand in hand, but the rest of this has just been a total clusterfuck during an already very upsetting time (my grandmother had passed away, we were moving her things across the country and it has been a very emotional, stressful time for my family) and it is clear that there is no consideration for the costumer, we just have to bend over for you, macyver a plan after you make a mistake, adjust our schedules and take unpaid time off work since we know no one with a truck, so we are at the mercy of your schedule and we get our stuff when it works for you. We’ve dealt with your company numerous times for truck rentals for in town, and you’re great for that, but it seems you struggle beyond the basics. I had put in a complaint 2 weeks ago that required a response and have yet to receive one. Par for the course with you. Liz

The customer service I received on the phone regarding the location of the drop off was clear and expedient. She also sent a text confirming with the address and location. It would also be helpful if the address was actually on the contract, not just a phone number to call. Aside from locations, I am NOT happy with getting a bill for $0.90 today. Yes I was 2 miles over the distance on the contract however, I dropped off the vehicle on Saturday instead of Sunday; a U-Haul rep called me yesterday and confirmed my total was $534.49 AND I left more fuel in the tank than required - no credits or refunds were offered for either of these items plus my total charged has changed after YOUR agent already confirmed the amount. Do you think billing me an additional $0.90 is good business practice and a positive way to retain me as a client?

Did not provide the proper trailer size on pick-up date despite a phone conversation ahead of time specifying my need for that specific size; unwilling/unable to correct the problem once it arose; erroneously charged me for the rental - $316 - despite my never receiving the trailer (ie charged me for a rental they didn't actually provide). Very frustrating.

I had drive extra 20 + miles to pickup the truck. Due to that dealer close to my house wouldn't bring in a unit for us to rent.

I reserved a 20' truck almost a month in advance to pick up in Huntsville ON. Days before my move i was told it was not available and offered a 26' truck but was told it was coming from Nova Scotia so they could not guarentee what time it would arrive exactly. I had movers booked to load the truck for 9am, so that timing would not work for me. I then had to drive a half hr away to Dwight (next closest place) to pick up a 15' truck. It was too small and so had to make two trips (3.5 hrs one way to the new house). When we dropped it off the starting km had been entered wrong so it took a while to sort that out. Overall my experience with UHAUL was very stressfull. I was told that a reservation is really more of a "request", so they wont guatentee anything until a day or two before. I like to know that everything is taken care if in advanced. This made everything feel a lot more last minute which it shouldn't have been. I did have some nice call centre reps to help, and the staff at the locations were very nice but it is a bad system overall. I will be usung a different company in the future.

2 days before was sent to wausaubene, ontario....no truck there, had to drive another hour and a half past to pick up truck that was smaller then what was reserved a month ago, for more money...Had to call 6 different people on phone,,,talked to Arizona, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Brampton...cant remember all the people and place...not impressed...a very, very sad experience...hopefully will never have to deal with them ever again!! Would NOT recommend Uhaul to anyone from this experience.

I had booked a truck rental on September 21, 2018 in Parry Sound and when I got there the truck wasn't. All I was told was "sorry there is nothing I can do". I had to go to the other side of Huntsville to get a truck and then drive it all the way back to return it. I was offered no compensation for going out of my way. The person in Parry Sound called once we were on our way to get this truck and said they know had a truck that was finally returned and we told them we were on our way to Huntsville to get a truck, they got upset and said they were now going to loose out on commission. Didn't really care that we were driving all the way to Huntsville to get a truck that they said would be in Parry Sound waiting for us at 9:00 AM
