The guy was nice and helpful but uhauls check in process is really complicated and takes a super long time. You should make it easier for the pick up location when picking up and dropping off in person

They charged me $165 in cash and told me they will pay you back later. It's a deposit. But I'm very far from them. They harassed me a lot to give me a bad car. Not accepting to pay by credit card. Saying You have to pay cash. They charged me $165 for a $20 car. Please help me. I'm very upset and I want to file a complaint with the police tomorrow. I want to explain to all sites that they should never buy a car from this company, because if they find out that you don't know the language well, they will charge you a lot of money.

The van was rickety and felt like it needed an extra push to work effectively. The pickup and return location was not only sketchy but wasn't practical. They didn't have the van we needed at the convenience store, so they sent us to another location. When we returned it there, they said it'd be $150 to return it and we had to take it back to the convenience store. No one was in the store so there's no way to get a receipt or confirmation the van has been returned. Very bad!

This was unfortunately my worst experience with U-haul, thankfully to the online support I was compensated. I have booked the truck for online check-in and pick-up at 1 pm. When I arrived, the online check-in didn't work because no truck was assigned to my reservation. I called U-haul (the person that talked to me was VERY helpful) and was asked to go inside the store, but the store was closed. Someone arrived at 1:30 pm ish and after check-in gave me the vehicle keys at around 1:40 pm. At this point, I was already very late for the elevator reservation. I tried anyways even though the truck was not looking in the best shape and driving I noticed the fuel tank was empty, and a few kilometers in the fuel light turned on. I decided to stop at a gas station and fueled $20.23, which made me even later for the elevator scheduled time. To my surprise, when I tried to release the handbrake the light would not turn off, I did it around 20 times, moved the truck, stopped, and tried again... And then, I gave up and decided to drive back, I would never risk myself and my partner driving a truck with the handbrake actuated. The whole drive from the gas station to the store was with the truck beeping very loudly. I arrived at the store and said that the truck was not safe, that my moving was ruined and I would like to cancel the reservation. Their first answer was that they would return and I would have to pay part of the reservation and km. That really pi##ed me up and I asked them to complete the return and I would make a complaint to U-haul. I believe they realized that I was very stressed and decided to make a full return and I don't see the charge on my credit card anymore. This week I received a credit of $50 on my credit card from U-haul, which covers the fuel expense and a bit more. I am satisfied with the solution but believe that the truck should go for repair because it is not safe for any customer.

The location was actually a convenience store with a small Uhaul sign out front. The convenience store was locked when I arrived for my scheduled pickup. Had to google the phone number (as it wasn’t provided), and the owner showed up 15 minutes later. I would suggest making it more obvious that it’s a Uhaul location and being open for appointments. In addition, I had to wait for the shop owner to charge his iPad before he could process my booking (this took another 10-15 mins). He mentioned there was 1/8 of a tank of gas; however, it was nearly empty and I had to put gas in it right away. Finally, when I returned the truck he tried to gauge me for mileage. He claimed I drove the truck 80 kilometres when it was only 30. We finally settled on 35 kilometres and he said it was $1.89 per kilometre which I later found out should have been $0.89 per kilometre!! Unbelievable!! So poorly run and unprofessional. Never will use this location again. Something should be done about this. Would love my money back.

I could not upload driver's and driving license photo... only after 2 hrs talking with 3 operators and downloading uhaul app i completed online steps to take over rental van. Then locked box with van's key could not be opened... it took me 2 hrs...

Location wasn't shoveled so getting the truck in and out of the spot wasn't easy. Further, the mobile app wasn't working and the facility didn't open until 3pm (we had the truck rented for 10am, and the website said they open at 11am). However, I called the number associated and someone was able to help us after about 20 minutes of sorting the reservation out.

I originally booked as a counter pickup. The store was closed when I arrived at the set time, so I called the store and got no answer. I then called U-Haul, and was told the key was in the truck. There was no key in the truck. Half an hour later, someone shows up to open the store and give me the keys. Finally, upon returning the truck, I was told to return it in a different place than I picked it up, after I had gone to the original pickup location. All in all awful experience, unlikely I will use U-Haul again.

Had to wait an hour for truck due to technical difficulties. This is the third time this year I have used Uhaul and the third time I have had difficulty picking up my truck, at least this time I had a service rep there to help me, that’s why it’s 2 star in stead of one. I hope to never have to use your service again.

I ordered a dolled/wheeler and was charged $7 for it but it wasn't there or in the truck. Still on my invoice and waiting for a call back to have this removed... still no call. Once rectified I will satisfied but I must say it made for a much more challenging day because I did not have this tool. Frustrating not just because I was over charged but because I really needed that item.

Pretty unprofessional, my whole uhaul experience was just bad from the go. The first place Gadget Link @ 60 Dundas St E , cancelled my reservation because i couldn’t take his truck one way even though that’s what my reservation was for. Tried to coerce me to just take it for intown drive to hamilton, then drive back which would result in more kms used, which equals more money I called customer service waited for 30 minutes and finally got someone they said hello once then hung up. At 11:43 a representative called me and asked if i got my truck , i said no explained what happened they said okay we will call you back. 2 hours later; no call. at about 2:30 i decided to call back while texting online with chat support which was no help at all, just told me to call the same number. Ended up getting on call with a rescheduling manager named Vlad i believe it was the waterloo region he operated from. The only person that showed me any customer service and had solutions to the problems i had. He got me a truck at this location here but i had to bring back which was completely fine because the extra kms were included which the first guy didn’t even suggest, appreciate that guy very much only because of him i’d ever suggest uhaul to anyone in the slightest chance. Anyway get there the person working didn’t really have any clue what to do or how to do it , told me when i got there i couldn’t take the truck had to call a manager named Jumail that guy was also good , had to guide him through the process over the phone the whole time, just no training which was annoying but atleast i got my truck. When returning i go at 8:30 am the next day website says they open at 9, they didn’t open until 10:40 and did not answer the store phone number once. Anyway i get inside and the worker working said there’s no way i can be returning a uhaul that day which clearly i was. I got the truck at 3/4 i returned it at 1/2. In my contract it clearly stated $2.25 per gallon. he prompted me to pay $51, i told him to call a manager he said he’s not working today , eventually he calls the manager said sorry that’s what u have to pay blah blah. I end up going to the gas station and putting in 27 litres which equates to 7 gallons , i should have only been charged $15.75. All in all very unprofessional the way how things worked and no customer service through most of this experience. Definitely wouldn’t recommend a friend going to both these because I wouldn’t want someone going through what i went through on a day of a move.
