The people running the shop are very nice. However, the truck was very dirty, both in the back and also inside the truck. Somebody had spilled something and didn’t clean it up and there was construction debris, drywall, dust, maybe, in the back of the truck. It had to be swept out in order for us to put our furniture in there.
Christine DeSantiWe had an issue with the amount charged and initially customer service could not assist. The issue stemmed from mileage and refilling the gas tank. We reserved for after hours with online pick-up. uploaded a photo but we no longer had access and CS said they could not review or provide us information or a the picture we had taken. We had to file a dispute. They were expedient in a resolution - within 12 hours, which I found impressive. The online, after hours pick up was extremely convenient.
John HerrigesOur rental had a check service light on, the passenger low beam headlight was out and the steering wheel pulsated. When applying the brakes. Our rental location was changed a few days before pick up. Overall not a great experience.
Bruce AndresHorrible locationeto self check-out and check-in. There's very little cell reception and no wifi so uploading pictures take forever. Multiple times thebuploada times out and I had to start over. Also, if I opened the contacts on my phone to look for my alternate driver's phone number, the U-Haul website would glitch and make me start over. Overall check-in and check-out process took 3-4 times longer than it should have.
STEVE CAMPBELLFirst of all— I was notified less than 24 hours in advance that I could no longer pick up my truck from Big Rapids at 9am (5 min from my house) that I reserved a month and a half prior. I had to drive a half hour out of my way to White Cloud where they didn’t open till 10am (I am now an hour and a half from the time I planned to start moving a month and a half ago). The guy who was authorized to rent the truck to me (Ruble) didn’t arrive until 10:30AM. Now I am 2 hours late because he was late. THEN, he told me I had to wait LONGER to get the truck because the UHaul website was down. At this point I am angry and tell him I need the truck right now. He took my info and told me I could take it and he would call back when the website was up and running (after much heated deliberation with him). NOW I have to drive another half an hour back to my house to start moving, Ruble did not call me till an hour later. Did he expect me to wait THAT long? All in all, I was 3 hours behind on my move because of the incompetence of UHaul, and especially the Midway Party Store. I was planning on using UHaul for my cross country move coming up in October, but now I probably will not.
Ericka MacThere were sunflower seeds all over the floor. And other trash and dirt. The truck itself ran very poorly. When you would start moving it was not allowing you to go faster, like the transmission was not shifting. The windshield wiper blades are horrible and I needed them for the rain.

Nathan McNairMy experience was bumpy. I had clicked the option for over the counter pickup and when I arrived there wasn't someone there who ran the u-haul side of things. The reason I picked counter pickup was because my phone is currently having issues so the mobile options I knew would prove problematic. The long story short the store clerk had to call the sight owner who then drove 13 miles some 45 min later. All the while I was trying to complete the pickup By mobile option until my phone battery died. The store owner showed up and said "You can just do this over your phone you know".. so I bit my tongue and kept going. Aparently he never got the notification for the pickup. If he had public WiFi it may have helped me to resolve with the mobile option. I appriciated him driving that way, but there are quite a few things he could do to smooth this out. The thing I could do is get a new phone and get with the times lol.

JACOB JIMALE ASHKERGuy never showed up to rent the uhaul. Had a rental reserved at 11am he never showed up. Had the ladies working in the gas station help me. Didn't even get the rental until almost noon. Overcharged mileage (I have pictures of mileage). Phone battery was dead so couldn't do self check in online which works great if you can access it.
