The app is completely useless. I had a terrible experience with it rejecting my check-in multiple times, then telling me to go to a different location from where my vehicle actually was. I wasted 90 minutes trying to check-in and ultimately didn't succeed. I ended up talking to someone at this location and they just cancelled my reservation and got me a new one in 5 minutes. The app also didn't work for returning the vehicle and I ended up using the mobile website instead because the app just wouldn't load at all.

It was very frustrating but I learned from a customer service agent that you can do the same process on their website. I had a much easier time submitting photos from my phone via the website.

The only email I received was an additional charge for gas. I stayed below the allotted 30 miles that was included in my rental price, but still charged for gas. There was only a quarter tank of gas in the vehicle when I picked it up.

DHONDUP T.As soon as I turned the key, the low tire pressure indicator displayed. I notified the counter person about this, and drove a short distance to my home. I filled the tire to 80 psi, and the indicator no longer displayed. This did not require a lot of my time, but I felt I deserved some credit for tire maintenance. The truck had only 12,000 miles and I wasn't going to complain. It would be nice if U haul had some light duty trucks that use less gas, I only had 300 pounds in a 10 foot truck, and it required $17.00 to bring the tank up to initial level for 55 miles round trip. I swept the floor, and cleaned the glass. The lady at the counter was very pleasant.

So I asked if she could help check me in and she made it apparent she didn't want to do that either. In the end she did and if checked out ok, but due to this experience I don't know I would rent again.

simbarina W.Truck, pick up location were fine. My complaint is with the mobile site. Borderline unusable. I was signed in, completing my check in. Site refreshed while uploading lisence photos. The site said I was fully checked in, but there was no option to pick up the truck, get the box code, etc. I was scouring the site to find where to start the reservation. the video on the site was not helpful as it showed pages we had no access to. I finally had to request a call back which took 15 minutes to receive. The call was helpful enough, but we had to sign out and sign in which took more time. After we got the code, the lock box was partially frozen, so even though we had the code, it took us more time to get it open. Sorry if this isn't applicable just to this location, but Uhaul's mobile site, contactless check in was a major pain and needs some serious work. My experience with the truck, the location etc. were fine, so I'll probably use Uhaul again, but I will not use contactless pick up if the issues are not resolved.

It was the best experience though and wish we'd hired some help! Jan is a terrible month to move!!
SHERI H.We got there 15 minutes early. The first two u hauls they said we could try wouldn't move. We had to try and shovel, even though there was hardly snow, they were just stuck. Finally, the third one we tried we could move. Now already late, and in a u haul that wasn't even supposed to be ours. The man helped us try and get them out, so it's not his fault, but it's just unbelievable to me how poorly stored those trucks were.

U haul software needs to explain why they didn't reserve an actual vehicle for me? Also, you charged me at least extra 50 miles because of farther location for me.

The cargo van was supposed to be ready at 7am, but when I went to do online check in it said to go to the location at 9am when they opened. That is 2 hours past when I needed the van. When I got there again at 9am she said it wasn't her fault or her problem that the van wasn't ready. Terrible experience.
AMELIA M.I did not get the dolly or furniture pads I requested and do not want to be charged for those. The pick up process also was not very smooth. It said there was a person on the premises, which is why I picked that location, but they were out of the office, so when I was trying to do the pick up, it took quite a while to get everything in order. The return process was better, but could also be improved.
Gina F.Set a appointment at 9 am on July 31st. When I got there nobody was there to open the location. Waited till 9:15 when I called another location and I'm assuming a manager came and opened the store and helped me check out. Unfortunately my friend left his phone in the truck. We called the location the next morning at 9, 9:15, 9:45 then finally at 10:03 we finally had somebody answer and say they needed to check the trucks. Got a call an hour later that it was there and that we would be there soon. Got to the store around 11:38 and it was closed again. 3 customers were waiting outside including myself waiting to be helped. Near 12:50 we finally got info that the phone was in the drop box. I'm very unpleased with the lack of staff and poor communication. Will not be recommending any of your stores in my future.

Michael P.Probably the worst service experience I've ever had, and I truly mean that. My interactions with the office personnel at the location were fine, but between their vehicle service people, the app, and the customer service line... wow. Here's the breakdown: -Make online reservation for mobile checkout -Show up to pick up truck, but the website and app both won't allow me to do anything. Go in to the service desk, find out the system seems to be down, set up a new time to pick up a truck first thing next morning. Frustrating to have to postpone things and make a return trip... but whatever technical difficulties happen. -Show up first thing next morning. Wrong key in the lock box, can't pick up truck until office opens... three hours later. -3 hours later I finally pick up the truck. Don't have a contract or access to odometer/ fuel report. -Return truck, find out I'm being charged double what I should be because someone there didn't fill out the correct mileage and fuel level. -People at office apologize but say there's nothing they can do because of it being a mobile checkout, I'll need to call customer service. Customer service tells me there's nothing they can do, hints I'm making it all up, but I'll get a call back from a district manager who does have the authorization to do something. Days later still no call back. -I get ANOTHER transaction posted to my account from Uhaul. Unclear as to why.

otis S.Rudest woman I've met in a very long time. Yelled at me for calling her phone number (which was on the front door with instructions to call), when I showed up for a van at the scheduled time, and nobody was there. She berated me and complained the entire time, even though all of the errors were on their end. I was also charged a cleaning fee even though there was trash in the van when I picked it up. I was also moved out of my storage unit prematurely and had to be re-entered into the system to get another code, despite an email chain confirming that my vacate date was May 28. Totally awful experience, will never return, will tell everyone I know to avoid it.
