This is NOT the fault of the location, it's responsibility is not maintaining the truck. However, whoever is responsible really caused me to have a horrible experience. This vehicle was extremely out of alignment and pulled to the right during the entire 1,200 miles. The passenger window had previously been damaged and not repaired correctly causing wind to whistle through a opening the entire trip. The drivers side mirrors would move out of proper viewing setting ever time a bump was hit. The front right tire tred showed that the truck had been pulling, the nice lady agreed upon our return. I will not rent or recommend Uhaul to anyone, you are not maintaining your trucks, causing customers to not feel safe and spend extra money on fuel.Kimberly F.

I didn't like that I didn't get a receipt nor heard anything back about the mileage I was charged for but did not have use. The padlock on the back door was broken and had a bulb out on the front passenger side. Also, I'd signed up online to â€˜skip counter check in' and still had to wait 20min At The CounterAlyssa B.

The U-Haul software did not work on my phone. In particular, verifying my drivers license did not work, screen went to black every time. Although I was able to get service in-person the inability to complete process on line was an inconvenienceTimothy W.

I have had only one experience with Uhaul so far and it was a horrible experience overall. There were many problems from the first phone calls throughout the rental. I realize the pick up location is just that, the people working there just receive vehicles in and also help rent them out but who looks at them each time coming in ? The truck I was given had almost NO oil in it. Not enough to drive out of the lot without being concerned the motor would be damaged. I had to purchase two quarts of oil before leaving. The right side tires were worn down to a point they were dangerous to drive on. When I brought this to the attention of the people working at the pick up location they just said they don't handle that part of it. So, when a truck comes in after a rental who maintains them ? I was not given anyone's name to contact about it or given any other options. This is a small town and I don't believe there were any other trucks there to rent and was not even given that as a possible option. Let me go back to the beginning and the the initial order. Someone transferred me to the area where they schedule the pick up location. I was told initially they couldn't schedule it too far in advance it would have to be done at a later date. I was concerned about how far the pick up location would be due to time constraints. Into the conversation I was told they could schedule and it was done to pick up in Lapeer. Later I was told that it shouldn't have been done and it had to be rescheduled. That caused me to be concerned because the order wasn't being handled correctly and I hadn't even picked it up yet. Some of this may be out of order, but I want to be sure to get all this information in this feedback response. I was allowed to order a dolly and blankets but when I went to pick up the truck they were not there. I was reimbursed for one of them at the pick up location by being given cash ?? they couldn't put it back on my card that was on file. I had to be reimbursed later for the other supply purchase at the time of drop off. Not having the dolly and the blankets was a huge problem with only hours before helpers were going to be at my house to load the truck up. We had to make due without the dolly and I ended up using large towels and hand made blankets that have sentimental value to me for the furniture loading. I had no choice and wanted to protect my things. I asked about paying for the rental at the pick up location and I was told that I didn't pay for it there, that it was paid for at the drop off location, which I knew was incorrect. I asked a couple times and was told the same thing. After walking out of there on the way to my car my discover card was charged!!. It seemed like no one working there knew what was supposed to happen with the rental. The inside of the cab was filthy. There was trash from one of the previous rentals still in there. We had to clean it out and wipe it down before using it. My MAIN concern is with the maintenance of the truck and the condition it was in when I picked it up. If I hadn't checked the OIL , that motor would have blown on my trip to Des Moines. We would have been stranded on the highway somewhere waiting for assistance. The TIRES were at a point of being very dangerous to drive on but I had no choice as I mentioned - not given any other options. It was a take it or leave it type of situation. It was very STRESSFUL driving the truck , knowing the bad tires could blow at at any point and could cause an accident and hurt someone or damage all of my possessions packed in the back. Due to the timing of this all happening, I had no choice but to go with it and use the truck as planned. I did not have the time or resources to find any other option to move my things from Michigan to Iowa. The drop off location was very helpful. Kathy noted all of my concerns and looked at the tires. I took pictures of the oil dip stick and also the tires if someone would like to see them. Kathy said that I would have to talk to someone at the corporate /business end of uhaul about this horrible experience. Kathy did reimburse me for the unused miles, which was supposed to be done anyway and also for the oil purchase along with putting a gallon of windshield wiper fluid in the truck and it still wasn't full. She was very apologetic and helped with what she could at the time of drop off. I have two questions for your feedback team - 1) Can someone please check to see if new tires were put on the right side front and back before the truck was rented out again? They were in terrible shape. Thank the lord we made it to Iowa with no issues. 2) Because of all the problems I had throughout this rental experience (first ever with Uhaul) , and due to the extra stress this place on me at a time when the stress level was already high, can I be given a monetary credit to show you are a good company and you do care about your customers and their rental experiences? Not every rental is for a lifetime move like mine, but it was a very big ordeal and process for me personally and I was very, very disappointed with your company. M&N market did all they could to help us. Wonderful people there. U HAUL however did not hold their end of the bargain. I was supposed to pick up the truck 5 minutes from my house at 10 am. Just before leaving to go get it we received a call telling us that we had to drive 20 miles, one way, to North Branch to pick up a different truck. We had reserved 3 days earlier. Upon arrival at the store we were told that nobody would be there to help us until 2 pm. (The store did call someone to come in early. No thanks to U Haul.) We finally got the truck about 11:15. By the time we got home it was nearly 11:45. 2 hours after we were scheduled. I had a crew of 4 waiting on me. Yes, U Haul gave us a $50 refund BUT that got ate up in the $.99/Mile charge. What a joke! I still lost 2 hours and I was on a schedule. Minimally U HAUL should have covered the extra 40 miles I had to drive because of their screw-up. I recommend using PENSKE.JEFFREY B.

Close your store and start over. I started off at the UHaul Miller Rd in Flint- I had a reservation for a uhaul and transporter. I get there August 29th and they said they left me a message(NO THEY DIDNT) saying they only had a pull dolly- or whatever you call it- to pull my vehicle. BUT- there is one in North Branch if you want to drive 45 minutes to pick it up- ok- we'll drive â€" BUT when we get there, the transporter was broke and they said Flint- Miller Rd knew it was broke- so they gave me a $50 credit- but Flint-Miller rd. Never gave me an initial $50 credit for not having the transporter. So as I got in the passenger side of the uhaul, it was full of DOG HAIR- What the hell- so now I'm pissed- no transporter and a dirty ass uhaul with dog hair. The uhaul was from Flint-Miller Rd- No transporter and a waisted 45 minute trip to North Branch for a broke transporter. You should not be in business.JENNELL T.

Had to drive 1-1/2 hours out of my way to find available truck. Original choice only 1/2 hour away - no truck available despite prior notice. Second scheduling changed by U-haul day before move. Disappointing experience except as note below: Major kudos to Jodi Strong at this location. Very helpful, pleasant and professional! She really saved the day.Christine B.

The lady who was tending to my order in person did nothing but complain about how many customers she had that day and was complaining about the customer service ladies she had to call about our order.She handed me the keyboard to her computer to fill out information that she should have been doing herself. I booked pick up for Oxford. I accidentally found out uHaul booked for Clarkston. I was able to make the change to a location better than Clarkston, but uHaul needs to come up with a way to better inform their customers when they make changes to a booking. Pads weren't available, either.MICHAEL D.
I stopped Monday night & was TOLD I had to request ON-LINE, when I got to the point of, take a PICTURE of your license & SEND that, I COULDN'T because of LACK of COMPUTER SKILLS!!!! I CALLED "Kevin" in Arizona & WE DID over the phone & I had a RESERVATION NUMBER & computer e-mail CONFROMATION number. When I got there on TUESDAY, they HAD NO RESERVATION & took OVER a HALF HOUR asking me the SAME QUESTIONS etc. & had to have MY LICENSE & HOME address & THEN they had to CALL U-haul & REPEAT for a THIRD TIME!!!! The trailer was FANTASTIC, reserving the trailer & being given GUARANTEED "CONFORMATION" was BULL SH?T !!!!!!! PLUS the manager was SUPER NASTY to HIS HELP & "HE" told the GIRL TO CALL U-haul & let THEM take care of it!!!!!!!!Bob H.
Scheduled drop off for after hours and could not. Seem like uhaul has an issue across the board with this after/before hours 24/7 pickup/drop off. Was given a free day due to the pick up issue then was charged for it at drop off. Horrible experience, not like moving isn't stressful enough let alone adding these issues on top of it.Christopher C.

More knowledge of how the process works. Unsure about insurance if needed or not. Charged 1400.00 on my card. Not returned still 5 days later waithing for the money still. If I hadn't had the money in my account I would have bounced payments and incurred overdraft expenses. That is almost 3 times what I was expecting to have taken out. No offer to compensate or reduce price because of inconvenience. Still waiting to get my money back. Went to drop off the trailer in Oklahoma at the place I was instructed too and was told that the company should have told us to take it to another place. They were full. Had to drive to another site to drop it off. They were not expecting us and were upset because they had more equipment than they needed. They did accommodate us. Kind of confused as to why it cost us so much to rent the trailer I was told it was because of the high demand at the place we dropped off our trailer to. Both of the places were full. The trailer was clean. One thing my husband suggested was putting jacks on your trailers because in the words of one if your employees they are ball busters.Jackie R.

I have rented trailers several times from that location, they have overcharged me, and always say they have no one to hook up the trailer. I have to hook up trailer myself if I want to rent it.. They do not hook up trailer to my vehicle. I understand being busy, but I am 66 years old and from years past u haul has always hooked up and checked lighting for me.maryann T.

The car dolly was not clean, it was rusty and biunced horribly. It needes new tires, you could tell. When i tried returning it, the system wouldnt work. The worker had to call corporate to confirm me returning the car dollyTROY S.

The U-Haul booking agent was at the cashier at the attached gas station, which delayed the check-in process. The cab of the vehicle had not been swept out, and there was a furniture dolly rolling around unsecured in the truck box (that I had not requested).Eoin R.

When we arrived the store teller let the uhaul person know we were there. It took at least 20 minutes for her to come to the counter to assist us. She then just gave us the receipt and paperwork with the trailer number on it. We were left to find the trailer and hook it up on our own. This is not the experience I have had at other locations. The interior had dirt in it and I am guessing it was used to haul quads previously.Glenda W.

Customer service goes a long ways. The lady was beyond rude, not very helpful, loves to roll her eyes, and doesn't know how to do her job. She couldn't give me a price for the uhaul according to what she said but then gave me a price after ten minutes. When I realized my card had a $200 daily limit I had to wait for my mother in law and was told if she wasn't there by a certain time I would have to wait a half an hour to rent a uhaul because she would be too busy.Amber D.
