I rented this 10' truck a couple of weeks ago, and it has the same outside dirt and grime on it that it had then. I complained about how high the truck idled last time and it still idles really high. I have a concern about "in Town", "one way" charges. If I pick up a truck locally, and am moving my stuff across town, I should be able to drop off where I move to without an extra charge.Phillip M.

This was such a horrible experience. The lady behind the desk had her kids running around like if it was a day care and could not understand a word she was saying. I told the lady that we would be using the truck an additional day and would return the next day. She called me in the morning saying that she would report the truck lost or something like that again I could not understand her to save my life. Then when I brought back the truck I put the gas tank how I got it and it even said on the computer when I got the truck how much gas was in it and she refused that it was half a tank when it was just a little over a quarter. I will never rent a u haul truck from this location as long as I'm in San Antonio. Worst experience iv ever had with this company and I wasn't going to say anything until I saw this costumers comments. I hope that such a big company as this would have better workers under there payroll.DANIELLE C.

Put up a return truck in the back of the building SIGN. I was a bit confused as to where to park the truck. Put up a return truck here SIGN in the back of the store. I was confused as to if I should park the truck there or not. I just knew I couldn't get it into that little parking spot up front. BUT, I APPRECIATE THE RESPECT GIVEN FROM THE PERSONNEL WORKING THERE. TO ME, IT ALWAYS MAKES A CUSTOMER FEEL GOOD, WHEN THEY ARE TREATED LIKE VALUABLE CUSTOMERS.Johnnie P.

When I made the reservation I was told the key would be inside the truck and it would already have the appliance dolly inside. I was supposed to be able to just check in on line and avoid the wait line inside but when I tried to do this I was notified I needed to go inside. When I arrived I had to go inside and wait in line. When it was my turn I was asked for a Third persons name and number as a 'contact'. I also had to pick out an appliance dolly to use even though I was told it wold already be inside the truck. We were told at the last minute that our 10' truck does not have a 'ramp' so we had to upgrade to a larger truck.David R.
the van has a dented fender that hampers the opening of the rider's door / there was dog hair all over the seats / the truck was filthy / there was straw wrappers in the cup holders from previous driver / it was misting rain and when i tried to use the windshield washer it was empty and had to do an emergency stop at a gas station to wash the dust turned to mud off so i could see / the store where i got it from was disgustingly filthy ... a person would be afraid to touch stuff for the filthDavid Z.
No nothing was clean. The van smelled like dogs been living in there for a while, dog hair all over the seats, A/C smelled like dog big time. So I told the employee that I would clean it good but had to give me half off my bill.Stephanie L.
The cargo van was filthy both in the cab and the cargo area. It wreaked of cigarettes and had french fries, chips and dirt spread across the dash and the floor. The area clearly hadn't been swept in ages. It also had a USPS mail box inside of it when i picked it up...which, incidentally, is a fineable offense. Also, there windshield wiper fluid reservoir was empty...and the windshield was filthy. The van clearly had not been cleaned in some time. Additionally, upon check out I selected "this truck is not clean enough for another family to rent" because I received it in filthy condition. While I did clean it sufficiently to bear being inside of it, I did not want for another family to have to deal with the grime that I did. The location needs to clean that van. For providing this pertinent feedback I was charged a $25 cleaning fee. I should be charging UHaul a cleaning fee... not the other way around. Regarding the location. The van is parked in an alley behind the store next to the door with #106 (the suite number of the location that is listed on the rental for where to pick up your van). I knocked on the door and the associate told me to walk around the block to get to the front of the building. The associate told me they don't "do business out the back door". I see nothing wrong with this, but don't expect people not to knock on a door with Suite #106 printed on it.. that is literally where UHAUL tells you to go. Perhaps put up a sign on the door that says to walk around the block and back to get to the front door for service would be prudent. Once again, a UHaul dealer has delivered a poor experience. This is the baseline level of expereince from UHaul. It is uncommon that I rent a truck, check in on my phone and walk in to receive keys to a clean vehicle that has a muffler, windshield wipers and fluid, and doesn't have drug needles or rotten food in it. I rent weekly from UHaul, but am actively searching for another convenient option. The convenience of UHaul is no longer worth the problems.Logan O.

The place was closed on Sunday which is understandable but there was not a drop off box to leave the key in also, there were no signs indicating what to do in case of the place being closed. I had to call UhualEva C.

This is the second time within a month I've been here and no one is wearing a mask. I turned in the truck with 7/8 tank of gas and they charge me $17.88 and put on the paperwork that I turned it in with only 3/4 tank.Phillip M.

Originally, parked in front, but was immediately told not to by staff, and was directed to park behind the store. I did so, and pulled into a parking spot. I was then asked again to move it to another area. Directions on where to leave it should be clearer.Lloyd N.

I was on a time crunch. I called in to reserve the vehicle and was told I would get a call back in a few minutes after to see it up. Well, that never happened. And I advised that I was on the way. When I got there it wasn't set up. I had to wait for the clerk to get back from the store. Service was sub par. Took almost 30 minutes just to get out of there.Angelia W.
Location sis not have the supplies I ordered online and Owner didn't know where to send me to pick them up and wasn't able to pull up receipt online, so I went to another location and they pulled it up on computer but then directed me to a separate location to pick up my supplies.Christopher C.

Truck had been previously driven at night because bugs were stuck on cab and windshield. I had to clean them off when filling truck with gas. I chalked it up to it being a busy rental weekend. Interior of the cab and truck were fine.Kathryn S.

First starters, you could return my money to my account... This was the worst rental truck experience I've ever had (not that the others were...) and I move a lot. I knew it was bad the minute I realized the guy I made my intial reservation with never asked some important questions, like were I planned to drop off and things like that. I suddenly felt the need to call and verify what just happened. I called uhaul back and they couldn't confirm anything she says because their system was down, according to the lady on the phone, the system had been down for awhile, WoW! I start to panic because the help I got was taking time out to help me move and they were really strict schedules so I had to be punctual and respectful of that. Not only did uhaul set my pick up back an hour and change the pick up as well as the rate...the location they sent me to wasn't even open when I got their at the time of pick up. The people pulled up blowing the horn as I was about to reach out to uhaul for the second time that morning. She was really nice and I hate it that I have to mention her but after telling her how disappointed and dissatisfied I wa, she then mentioned that whoever book the reservation (with whom she supplied me the name of..) they could've given me the key to some 24hr pick up box. The tank was less then 3/4 she thought that meant I was saying it was less then 1/4 she it turned into an awkward distrust situation after sending some other "friend" of hers to check my finding. Neither knew the difference between quarters...I tried to explain what I was saying until it appeared to me they thought I was trying to cheat some system you guys have as she stated uhaul policies and business practices to me to be clear as to why she had to be accurate. I gave up to let her do her job and to avoid the confrontation. I let her document and state whatever she needed to in order to get moving as I begin to see the frustration my help was starting to display with the whole experience. I figured I would deal with it later. My wife, friends and family insisted that I call to get reimbursed. And this is all before my attempt at dropping the truck off with a trusted Uhaul representative (that never showed up to her office) some mechanic in the same building kept telling me she was on her way, stating she was just in the office and to knock harder. Which one is it??? He then later told me about a drop box on the premises (which was very sketchy like the pick up) I lost to helpers that day to time lost. Well, I've been so busy this last month and with this move...I don't have time for the games I'm sure to have to play with Uhaul, so I just decided I'd have to take that as a loss but never to forget. Like I said I move around a lot and so do a lot of people I know. I've been told of more then a few other options I have, some with level A reviews I got this email asking of my experience with Uhaul. Well, That's my experience in a nutshell wHarold J.

The U Haul website states that by answering questions and providing a credit card for payment that picking up the vehicle would be extremely quick. Because I was on a very tight schedule to get furniture from a store that closed at 6 pm, I called ahead to the Fredericksburg location to double check that all the information had been provided and that I would be able to pick up the keys and leave quickly. When I arrived, the clerk began asking questions about "the alternate person," when I was the only one driving or even in the vehicle, as stated when I made the reservation. The clerk kept asking questions....maddening!!...I left that at 5:53 pm!! Very late! The San Antonio experience was not a good one!Kathleen K.

The parking lot for the stripmall overflow is in the back where the trucks are parked. It can be a little tight to maneuver except for offpeak hours. Check out could be a little more speedier, but I rented this truck walking in off the street for an emergency move and had to keep the truck for an unplanned extended amount of time. This location accommodated me nicely and had very friendly customer service.Terrence B.
The employees did not act professionally. One was barefooted, wrapped in a blanket and did not bother to stand up to help me. She had the other employee complete the signout. This employee did not seem to know how the system worked at all. Instead of them checking and verifying the condition of the truck, they had me go out by myself to not only locate the truck, but grab the fuel and mileage of it. Returning the truck was not much better. After telling them the odometer reading and fuel, they did not seem to know what to do in the case that the fuel gauge remained unchanged. They had a man, not even sure if he actually worked there, go and check the readings a third time. The only reason I was a this location was because the mobile "24hr self checkout" did not assign me a truck and after waiting and talking to customer service for a 9am pick up, I was referred to this location by 1020 am. I lost an entire hour and a half on my reservation.Rolando G.
