I had a truck reserved a week in advance, and the day before I was to pick it up, I received notice that the truck was not available. Buyer beware. There is no guarantee they will have the truck you need. I had to drive to Lucerne Valley to pick up the truck. There was no wifi at this location, and the cell phone service was bad, I couldn't check in. I was lucky the friend I was with had a different cell phone carrier, and was able to download the U-Haul app, log in as me, and check in for me. Unfortunately there were no other options to rent a truck at this time and location.

ALAN BURGI reserved the trailer 3 months in advance in a location near my house, when arriving to that location I was sent 30 miles away to another location because the trailer i reserved wasn't there. I had to wait 1 1\2 hours for the trailer at the second location, when I got it both tires were bald and had different treads? The person that rented it to me said they couldn't do anything about it, I was told to call road service to have them replaced? it took up my Whole day and 120 mile's customer service gave me a $50. refund.. with this issue.( I think you all should have a back up trailer, and need to follow up with your renter's to make sure that its returned on time for next customer )

MARK DALE BAUGHNTruck had not been well-swept; smelled mysteriously of plants of uncertain provenance; windshield was chipped in 3 places and dirty inside & out; paint was sun-faded; box was intact but heavily scraped. Car dolly was covered in dirty auto oil; scraped and gouged by previous operation; a light cluster vibrated out of socket because of afore-mentioned damage; tire straps were soaked in dirty oil, cut in some parts, frayed in other places. Location: pickup location was way out of the way 20 miles); we passed 1/2 dozen other locations with many more trucks & dollies; drop-off location was also out of the way (another 30-ish miles) for which we had to pay extra charges. Facilities were well-run, clean, organized.
JOHN ORTEGAUnfortunately I needed to go to this remote location to pick up my length truck due to my desired location not having the size available. Upon getting there The truck i was given appeared to be the oldest of the four that were available. My opinion I was given that truck because I was taking it to another location for drop off and it was away to get rid of it. The ruck windshield was dirty, full of bugs hits and wasn’t washed, and there was no fluid in the washer reservoir. It ran well but was in need of a little cleaning.

But it all seem to work out with a discount in mileage fees. The desk attendant at this location was very friendly as well as helpful.

The onsite managers kept looking out of the upstairs windows, but would not acknowledge or come down stairs to assist me with my turn in. Fortunately you have the online turn in option. This is the first time I have had anything below an above average experience with U-Haul.
Robert SpiveyThe employees on the phone and on site along with U-Haul suppliers were very helpful. Unfortunately the U-Haul system operations did fail me. I was highly dissatisfied with the moving help. When I signed up to have help with in two hours of my purchase, these services were not actually available. I don’t know where the disconnect or lack of communication lies, but I will never be using moving help again. It’s OK to not to offer an abundance of services if the services themselves cannot adequately be provided (after being paid for). That tarnished a reputation and my last experience with U-Haul had some issues as well-including charging me twice. Leaving me with a chunk of money temporarily missing from my account. Are used to think of U-Haul as my go to, but my next move I will be using other options.
Leif KoffordI gave this location an above average rating, because of the representative that helped me, he was above average. He was extremely patient, kind and helpful. He was extra concerned about making sure I got the best possible rate and wanted to make sure I was renting the right truck Etc. The truck was very, very clean. I was pleasantly surprised. However, I would rate the truck below average, only because it had a fuel leak underneath and I felt that the truck should have had a more thorough examination, not just around the perimeter of the vehicle, but also underneath for any type of damage. Having a fuel leak is very dangerous. I would rate the roadside service that came to assist me in my area, below average. When the roadside service repairman arrived he displayed an attitude of being irritated. He was sarcastic in some of his remarks, facial expressions, and in his hand gestures when motioning me to back up the vehicle. He was giving me instructions using his hands but he was using his hands in a way that said I am irritated. The only reason I would not rate him with a poor average rating, is because he was very efficient and quickly to repair the punctured fuel hose, that someone had taped to hide what they did. I did not want to have to unload the truck into another truck, not having help to assist me. The location where I had left, I had help loading the truck. The location where I was going, there was someone there who was going to unload the truck for me. I would not rate every roadside service the same, because U-Haul uses local tow trucks in the area to service calls. However, I would rate the representative who answered the phone above-average. She was genuinely concerned and after she obtained my information she said that she would call me back with the name of the tow truck company that would service the vehicle and she did. I understand that there are situations that happen that are out of our control, so overall for U-Haul I would rate them above average. I am very grateful that there is such a company that has trucks that we can rent without having to shoulder the responsibilities that come with owning truck. I would like to thank U-Haul for the many years of good service, in providing moving trucks to the public. U-Haul is the only company I ever used.

HELEN BERRYI am not happy with the communication, although I don't know what you can do about it. I had ordered a truck to be picked up in Hesperia, then received a text saying to pick up a truck in Lucerne Vly (30 miles farther than Hesperia) only to then get a phone call saying that the truck in Hesperia was ready for me to pick up. Next came a voicemail saying that I needed to pick up the truck in Lucerne Valley. So which place do I go.....Hesperia or Lucerne Valley???? The truck ran fine (radio was busted I think) and we got the stuff delivered so it ended up being a productive day.
