Friendly staff with quick service
Marvin LThe people that I rented the trailer was very friendly and Businesslike. . But It would have been better if Uhaul had a trailer designed for transporting a large motorcycle. I was able to just barley get my Honda Goldwing inside the trailer crossways. But it did work without damaging my motorcycle.
Steven SLaymans Automotive is great. I've dealt with them several times and trust them completely.
mike sGreat reception keep it up
Renos KThis place was filthy, staff was unprofessional.
Ricky WStaff very professional, knowledge & helpful.
sherry sEverything went as expected.
Ray LPeople weren't much help dropping off equipment no room in lot or parking area
Arthur SI ended up going to 3 locations for a van. The first location closed at noon. I received a text at 2:30pm, the time I was to pick the van, that said they were closed. I was sent to another location that did not have a van. They told me they had notified Richmond that they did not have a van. Finally, I was sent to a third location and picked up a van. The confusion seems to be on Richmond's end.
Bob PLocation is on a residential, crowded street.
Damian DMy drop-off was after hours. Perhaps a few instructions about what to do in those cases. None were posted that I could find. I called the number provided but got no response. It worked out in the end because I knew another U-haul dealer I could call.
DAVID GUsed drop box to leave the key.
Marco FTruck seemed overbooked- had to pay the same price for less time with truck because another customer needed it. We were not offered any kind of discount.
Anna SIt's a working garage with U-Haul truck's and trailers, what do you want. It was fine with me.....
DONALD SThere was nobody at this location to help us when we came to return the truck and when I called their phone number, they refuse to come to the location to help us.
Justin CWe appreciated the very helpful employee on site on a Sunday! Sorry I didn't get his name.
Hans NWe've used this location a couple of times. The lot is a little tight, but the staff are friendly and keep an eye out for what you need to do.
Hans NWhen "wonderful" is the first word you think of to write a review, there isn't much that comes to mind for improvements. We feel blessed to have been served by this location during a very stressful time.
Shawn ONot good experience
Larry NVery central in town location. Did not interact with anyone on site.
Kirsten FGood people and great dogs!
Jamarr JDale is awesome! She is friendly and has everything ready quickly. I would drive extra miles just to rent my Uhaul truck from her. FIVE STARS!!!
LOREN TNot a lot of available parking on the street for vehicles. Larger vehicles need to be parked in a better accessible area.
Thomas SThe self checkin/checkout process was so smooth and easy.
Bruce Rthe dollie wasn't on the truck (I called to informed), and then the people were not very friendly when I was trying to pick up the truck...putting another car in front of it (making my wife to drive around the block)...
Jose ADale is great!
John WA location mapper to find lot lizards easier. First one turned out to be a dude. We talked briefly, went into the travel stop and split a slice of sbarro pizza . After that, we have a deep conversation of how cheese is made and what flavor is best, (you can't top a properly smoked gouda). After arriving to the conclusion that smoked gouda is the correct answer, we stare briefly at each, nod, and go our separate ways knowing we had made it.
david mAll in all, our experience was good, but there were two things that could have been better: - When I called the morning of our pick-up to make sure everything was in order, they didn't have the trailer and didn't seem to know that it would be back by the time we needed it. It did come back in time then, but this just causes extra stress and trying to find a local alternative. - The right brake/turn signal light wasn't working. They looked at and working on it, and I understood that it was then working. But it wasn't working during our trip, which was concerning.
Daniel BGive maintenance to the trucks more often.
Darwin AThe guy who works at Laymans was very nice and gave us water and helped us out with who to call...but we were stuck outside there for over an hour trying to get the website to work so we could get the code for the "online pickup". He said the website hasn't been working and another guy was stuck there for 3 hours the other day (because you're stuck on hold) trying to get the code. He said he didn't have access to it and so we had to talk to 3 different people, one on chat, and two on the phone, before finally having to take a picture of my face, and the front and back of my license, submitting that and then finally got the code to the outside lockbox with the key. It was so hot outside, that by time we got the key, we were dripping with sweat and pretty miserable. Then we finally get the uhaul, drive to the storage unit and start loading. I asked my boyfriend for a moving blanket that was supposed to be in the truck (I rented 5) and he said there weren't any. So my dresser got damaged on the way over to the house when a board from the bed shifted and punctured it in the back. The thick moving blankets would have protected that from happening. I'm just not at all happy with the experience. The website needs to be fixed because when you get the 6 digit code in your email, there is no where to put it on the website in order to then get the 4 digit code for the lockbox. It just throws you through and repeated loop. This part isn't Laymans fault...but they do need to give all their employees the codes so if the website isn't working, they're able to help you out. It was a sh*t show from the beginning and now I also have a damaged dresser from lack of protection.
Kara KIt was a very easy to handle van the only thing is the AC would only work in defrost mode it would not work in the vents or anything so that was a little hot but we finally got it to come on high and shut all the windows and it did cool off but they might want to check flights doing that
Melissa PThe location was great!
Jackson RJust keep doing what you are doing! Dale was very helpful and understanding of our needs and any bumps we ran into were handled immediately and appropriately. Very courteous…..I will choose Layman's every time !
Deborah WMiss Layman and her Mechanics at Layman Automotive and Towing are ALWAYS most accurate and efficient to rent U-Haul gear from - my go to resource years on !
craig cGracias
Gale CThey were attentive to my needs
Jonathan CIt would have been a better experience if the 10 foot truck came with a ramp. The height of the bed is too tall to not have a ramp.
Judy OTerrible place never returning. It was poorly run the person kept saying I didn't have a reservation
Deonte HEasy to pick up and efficient paperwork. Truck in good shape.
TIM RDale is awesome!
LEIGH MPick up went smoothly and on time.
Dale NThe guy was a bit rude, when I return the key to the drop box the drop box fell off with all other keys, they left it open that’s why, I went inside and told him that drop box is open or broken, he was so rude and told me that the key doesn’t go there anyway and he grab all the keys and shut the door to me without saying buy or anything.
