I have used U-Haul several times. The trucks has always been cleaned. This time the truck was very dirty especially the cargo area and the loading ramp. It look like someone had hauled bags of mulch and never tried to sweep it out. Even the walls on the cargo area was smeared with dirt. Unfortunately we experienced a blown tire that required roadside assistance on our move.

I had reserved the trailer to pick up at another location. I did this on-line since I was going to be driving down from New York to pick it up. I called the original location a week before leaving and I was assured everything was all set. On my way to Virginia I received a phone call from U-Haul stating that my pick up location had been changed. I stated that I was not happy since I had picked the original location due to them opening earlier and that I had booked a hotel ear them to make pick up easier and quicker. The new location ended up being 10 miles away from original location and in wrong direction of my intended travel. U-Haul representative on phone said there was nothing they could do. I could take that trailer or nothing. I told them it would have been nice to know this information more than one day in advance so I could have changed room reservations plus I was already halfway into a 10 hour drive to pick up trailer. The location where I ended up picking up trailer was very nice and helpful. My complaint is with corporate office and the way online rentals are handled.

The process we had to go through to rent a truck and tow dolly took about 30 mins. The reservation had been entered as two separate invoices which made the process take longer.

The truck I rented which was at 1620 Va. Ave., Collinsville was already rented and was leaving the lot when I arrived. And my purchase was confirmed when I called 1-800-Uhaul. The attendant at 1620 called and found a 26 ft. truck at Laural Park Tire and Auto and said my info was transferred there. He was very professional. When I arrived my info was not in their system so we had to start over. They also were very nice and professional and I got the truck I needed.

Had to buy an adapter so brake lights would work, not acceptable. Had to drive to Richmond and back with no lights. I purchased adapter at advance auto but still did not work. As it was getting dark I called Danville uhaul and asked if I could return there, they said I had to return where I picked up. I would like to thank Eric at main office for his help he did everything he could to help.

Truck itself was great, but back was not swept out, full of leaves etc. Biggest thing to me was, the dolly. I wasted 10 bucks on the dolly because the one they gave me was very old and had a layer of a motor oil looking substance on it. Not exactly what you want to be touching your furniture. I didn't use it at all.

The man was friendly, but distracted. The truck ran hot half way through the trip. Stopped very low on both oil and engine coolant. Filled everything. Changed address to pick up truck twice. Changed drop off point three times.

Had a pick up time of 1 pm but made me rush in there and said that if I wasn't there before 11:30 that I wouldn't get my trailer. I had to rearrange appt that I had at the time. Also trailer was on edge of lot in some brush and they would not help me get it loaded on to my truck. Overall experience there was poor would not recommend anybody to go to this U-Haul dealer.

refund number should answer the calls when we are referred to the numbers. retailers should know how to issue refunds without it becoming a fraud case

When I arrived at the location the power was off so l was told that they couldn’t help me. I had to request that they check with other locations to see if I could transferred my reservation. After getting the paperwork set I asked where to get the trailer at which time the lady pointed up the hill. I expected someone to come out to assist but after about 20 minutes she came out but not to assist me so I went up the hill, found the trailer hooked it up myself. When I asked if there was anything that I should be aware of they said no. No one checked my vehicle or the hook up or anything. Since I have rented equipment with you all before I thought that this was unusual. Be more helpful to the customer. Don’t assume that they are can manage the process on their own.

My first time renting a trailer. Staff was very friendly but I hooked up the wrong trailer and drove away. As I was driving I noticed I had a bigger trailer than I rented. I didn’t know they had numbers on the trailers to go by. No one walked us to the trailer. I just assumed it was ours. I turned around and had to back up the trailer into its spot and hook up the other one. It would have been nice if someone would have showed us our trailer the first time.

Be sure to do as much online as possible. The make-shift office reeks of cigarettes (smell on your clothes when you leave) and it's dirty. But it is a service station...so... People very friendly and know what they are doing.

Rental person couldn't process rental. I had to get on the phone with uhaul to complete rental. Not acceptable. Lady at uhaul did great thank her for me

U-haul’s support for dealer is horrible. I did express check-in online and it still took over a half an hour and two phone calls for dealer to confirm my reservation with U-haul

Had to go OVER 5 miles out of town to get this trailer. I HAD a confirmation for a pickup in town because I live in town and moving my stuff to storage in town...from 1015 liberty st...bunch of idiots that DIDN'T know how to work through computer screens...I was 1.5 hrs later getting a trailer OVER 5 miles out of MY way....YOUR company SUCKS but what's WORSE...I STILL paid FULL price to be treated THIS way AND inconvenience!!!!??????????????????????????

This is no problem picking up at this location, but there is a problem with the equipment. There was no jack on the tongue of the trailer. Made it near impossible for one person to get the trailer hooked up or unhooked.

The owner of the rental center, Kenneth was distant and dismissive. While he was checking me in he worked on at least three other customer items often just walking away without saying anything. When I got in the vehicle it was littered with used napkins and had coffee or soda spilled all throughout the console - filthy.

Uhaul phone support is a joke. They are overcharging on trailers and are not explaining times rolling into the next day therefore charging a extra day to the customer. Very dissatisfied with pricing and charges to me. This will be the last time I rent from uHaul.

The trailer was a piece of junk. Seriously. Buried in the woods, fenders smashed- which later scratched the pain on the 54 Plymouth I was towing. Great folks in Martinsville - it was not their fault. It was just the equipment they were Stuck with. I'll never rent from U-Haul again. I can do it myself,or I'll pay. It's worth it to avoid the aggravation.

Check your rental trucks before renting

After loading the car and heading out I noticed a jarring when I applied the brakes.When I got to Conway S.C.I stopped at the first U Haul dealer and they found out the brake shock was defect and I was lucky there had not been a wreck.The trailer was changed out for a good one. I do not think the first tailer had a safety inspection.I have rented U Haul before but am a little Leary on the next one I may rent

Equipment was clean and the location was fair. However the process for obtaining the rental was unusual. The person at this site was not very knowledgeable and instruction was not very clear in regards to returning the van and post rental.

Essentially no help with attaching trailer to vehicle no questions about any questions I might have had. Fortunately I have used trailers before but anyone without experience might be in trouble. Very little assistance in even locating the trailer on the property.

At pick-up point, there were no explanations gvn. Only concern was "sign papers & gv credit card." Only when we got to destination did we see that we were allowed 39.mi. My house is 4 mi. from pick-up; Rocky Mt is 35 mi from house, destination is 30 mi from Rocky Mt. Drop off about 5/6 mi from destination. Our time to pick up the truck was messed up. We applied on line for truck and selected 5pm 5/30/12 w/ return on 6/1/12. E-mail confirmation arrived after 5pm on 5/29 stating pick up time was 9 a.m. on 5/30 with 9am return on 6/1. After being told by umpteen people that they could not help us;that the scheduling office would open at 7 am next day and they MIGHT be able to help us IF a truck was available at that time. 5 calls later, including one that hung up on us, we reached someone, somewhere, who wanted to help. His name is Chris Corbin @ ext. 861726. He was absolutely wonderful and sometime after 10pm we were able to get confirmation of truck @ correct time. What can you do to improve things??? Fire the 10/12 incompetent people that spoke with us and make Chris Corbin CEO.

Iniitial pickup site (Harbour Towing) did not have truck as scheduled. People there were rude and very unhelpful. After calling reservations line, we were re-routed to this location, which was better. Good person to work with there, but facilities very minimal. The truck was fine, except tires apparently are out of balance or some similar problem, because it bounced a good deal.

I was very upset. Called a head to get truck early told to come in. Waited 2 hrs woman was rude and said well they can just wait. Woman who does uhaul rental didn't show up for work no one knew what they were doing.

The gentleman seem annoyed that he had to help. He failed to give us an extra 15 miles that we were promised because he said he did not know how to fully operate the computer program. Bottom line is that we had to pay for extra miles we would not have had to pay for. The equipment was close to brand new and perform great. If we had been shown the new timer, mile tracker and gas consumption tracker out rental worries would have been less that normal. U haul trucks with these features make rental contract terms better tracked. I realize I lucked out getting a newer truck, it was wonderful to drive and use. Perhaps if the lady that normally does U haul rentals was at the location when we picked up the truck, things would have gone better.

We reserved a utlilty dolly and they gave us appliance dolly, by the time we figured what they did they only lady that who knew how to use the Uhaul system had left for lunch. We did not have time to wait for here to get back so we just took the appliance dolly which we had no use for. But still paid for it.

Your web site stated operating hours were 8AM to 5PM. The girl(Kimberly) does not show up for work until 9AM. You guys need to update your operating hours or hire someone who can start at 8AM.
