I looked at a few reviews of this place which I usually dont do. Saw a bad one that stated this place is a scam cause the truck had a quarter tank of gas when they got it. They chose to not read or listen to U-haul's terms and conditions and filled the tank up, didnt use all the gas and give this place a bad review. This person is an idiot and probally lived a privlaged life and never had to rent a vehicle. Then decided to trash this guys name and place of business online. This is a car wash or something like that. Not the U-haul corp. The guy behind the desk simply did his job. The truck was clean and worked perfectly fine. I usually dont leave reviews but after reading that one and going to the place i felt obligated.rich D.

Without question we experienced top notch professional and friendly customer service when picking up our 20' moving truck. So much so that we had a slight glitch while picking the truck up as we were there before the location openedâ€"before I could think of a solution my cell phone rangâ€"-it was Jim the owner. He has seen us on camera and called to check to see if everything was ok. Then walked us through the steps needed to get the key. Great location and superb ownership and management. Thanks for a great experience! He even checked up on us later as our move progressed. Awesome.MARK B.
The guy named Michael said he was a manager yet he was very very rude! He cut me off while I was trying to explain to him about my original reservation, didn't let me finish what I was trying to say instead he kept saying â€œdo you want this or not, I have to goâ€ very poor customer service especially if he really is a manager as he said.Trixie Z.

they said they close at 5 pm I got there at 4 pm and it was closed!!!Akiva L.
My scheduled pick up was 3pm. This was changed to 2:30pm by U Haul because they changed my pick up location which closes at 3pm. On the pick up date they called me at 1:15pm stating that they were not going to be there and they were checking me in over the phone and would leave the keys in the car. This resulted for my contract to start at 1:15pm. When I picked up the truck at 3pm the keys were not in the car and delayed everything for meDirk D.

No one available for at least 10 minutes, then they sent me to a different location. Second location person was extremely unhelpful and rude! We reserved a van online with a Washington DC drop off. They said we could only have a truck to do that, not the van we reserved online. Awful experience. Will not be back.Terrence M.

The gentleman who helped me out was great, friendly and informative. My only complaint was finding this location. It's location and signage really needs an overhaul as it shares the same building as a car wash which is behind some other building. Otherwise, I'd rent a truck from here again as I had no other problems.Benjamin B.

The vehicle was returned under the included mileage yet the number was boosted so that an additional miles were charge to my bill. The fuel was more than the initial amount yet additional charges applied. I am very disappointed with the Uhaul company and after years of using this service I will be switching because of the blatant inflation of the numbers.Roy H.

The location is confusing and I was charged extra money due to having issues locating the truck and getting it returned. I had the truck for an extra 30 min and was charged for a whole other day! I picked it up 30 min late cause I couldn't find the place!Alexander V.

Very little if any signage directing me where to drop the truck after hours. Almost went to wrong location. Was also charged a refueling fee when I returned the vehicle with the amount of gas I was supposed to.Jack G.

I will never use uhaul again. This company is ridiculous. I was forced to call customer service over 7 times to get everything in order and I'm still waiting for them to fix my bill because I got charged for 2 hand trucks I never recieved. Our first experience was an absolute nightmare. My wife and I spent over two hours on the phone trying to get her vehicle. And addition when we arrived in Lakewood no one was available even though the stated hours or until 5 o'clock. We got there at four o'clock. After long drawn out ordeal we finally got the truck and from that point everything was smooth. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any additional comments.laura C.
I dropped off at this location after hours. The address is misleading because you need to drive the rental down the side street to this particular lot. Not accessible by ocean Ave.John K.

I was overcharged from what was listed on line and as was verified by the agent on the phone and was also given less free mileage than what was agreed to as well. When I called the agent in Toms River, NJ where I originally called to book the vehicle, the agent was less that pleasant and was of no help. I left an email for U-Haul corporate the following Monday after the Saturday drop off in Philadelphia to explain the overcharge and the incorrect mileage allowance and was never responded back to no more Uhaul for me and will never recommend to anyone as well !robert F.

Was told can return to any uhaul in jersey city this was not the case very inconvenient set our move back over an hour I have used uhaul before with no problems but again very dissatisfiedanne M.
Pick up location was outrageously far resulting in a 52 dollar Uber ride to pick up the truck. The pick up location changed as I was literally in the Uber. Poor logistical planning. Truck smelled horrible and rode rough.Michael L.

I returned the truck with a full gas tank and dropped the key in the appropriate box on 6/26. On 6/27 I get the email with the receipt charging me for an additional 56 dollars. I call the u haul dealer there on 6/27 and explain the situation to him. He was rude and unprofessional on the phone in his response to me saying that the truck was only half full. Something fraudulent is going on at this place as I returned this truck with a full tank and I only used a quarter of a tank to begin with.Sean H.
The location is very hidden and it took us a while to figure it our where we were going. Also street leading to it narrow. It would be challenging for somebody who doesn't have much experience driving a truck to get out of there. I personally don't a ton of experience and was concerned. The service, however, was good, and I was in and out of their office quickly.Laura P.
The owner of the car wash (where the UHaul trailer was kept) couldn't be nicer and more helpful. I'd definitely recommend. Note that you enter at the car wash, which is behind #1260 Ocean. Turn onto Hoover and proceed 200 feet.Dayle V.

I drop off the trailer in the same condition received yesterday but the U Haul representative at Lakewood Auto Spa Inc. would not give me a receipt for the drop off or sign off on my contract from Rics Marine & Boat Storage Inc.FRANK S.

I was told that I would be allow 84 miles but in actuality, I was only allowed 30. I told my situation that I was going down to South Jersey and then back up to Neptune but I was only accounted for the miles from Lakewood to Neptune although I made it clear I was going down then up.SARAH T.
