The truck was in a horrible shape. Scratches all over, dents, broken plastic pieces, rusty drippings inside and outside the cargo... then I turned it on and the red "brake repair needed" light came on and beeped the entire time. Since it was a very short drive and I was late due to the very much needed thorough pre-trip inspection, I decided to take it out anyways. As I was driving, the cabin was bouncing so hard, I thought it was going to split in half.. On top of that they didn't provide the furniture pads I'd requested (I did get a refund at checkout) and they didn't have a dolly to rent me. At the end it did the job but that truck should not be rented out! The cashier told me "they don't make new trucks so we rent what we have left".. I understand these are weird times but as a truck driver myself, I can only imagine if it had been rented out by people going long-distance..Arnaud H.
I pick a 8am pick up time and was supposed to be able to use my phone to do so. The system was down so I was not able to do so. Call Uhal twice wait on hold for 5mins both time then the system automatically hung up on me telling me it was a high call volume to call back later. This uhal location charged me $25 for a cleaning fee because I parked the truck in their lot next to a stroller and car seat some one else left behind on the ground. I did not belong to me and I did not bother to touch it due to covid. They said they would refund me and have not done so yet.Alicia A.
provide fresh signage that is not faded, lock box location, same set-up at all locations, larger parking lot area, other parts and equipment for business blocking areas, No parking for customers, overgrown shrubs, to many business in the same building, only one person to do all work items..TIMOTHY B.
Uhaul rescheduled me to this location for a 9:00am pick up and they don't even open until 10:00am! No calls advising of this and even in the update email it stated 9:00am. To make this even worse we only had to book this uhaul due to the previous weekends rental breaking down and stopping us from completing our move. We also found out there was a cleaning fee charged for said broken down rental and we only moved inside items. I wouldn't suggest uhaul to anyone at this point. I was not informed that I had a 6 hour limit when I went to pick up the truck and was charged for 2 days. I used the truck from 12:30pm-10:30pm. I did not know I needed to take a picture of odometer and returned the key before seeing it in my email. The communication could improve.LAURIE M.
I rented the vehicle for 24 hours and returned it before the 24 deadline but was charged for 48 hours. They told me they needed to clean and disinfect the vehicle and would email me the invoice. When I received the invoice, I was charged 48 hours and 3 gallons of gas. I have time/dated pictures of the mileage and fuel level which was 1/8 higher than when I picked up the vehicle. I heard of bad experiences with this rental location and now I have my own experience to spread around town. Thanks UHAUL for partnering with a below grade distributor. Bad for UHAUL and typical for Lake Erie Lawn & Garden.TIMOTHY R.

The truck was very dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. It could barely make it over 50 MPH. It felt unsafe to drive. The ramp repeatedly got stuck and we had to fix it ourselves. The renting location said they would get us some money off our bill but we were charged full price. I'm tired of seeing all the ads for UHaul and their modern fleets and then get stuck with a truck that should have been scrapped years ago. Even the rental agent admitted that they have been begging UHaul to get rid of this truck. Yes, it did the job but it didn't make it any easier.Fred S.
Truck was dirty, low tire pressure light on, 2 miles down the road, check engine light came on. Only hauled 200 pounds for 9 miles, thankfully, because the brakes were so touchy, at least 1 wheel locking up. 1 hour to check in, and after standing for 40 minutes, lady said it would still be at least another hour to wait to check the truck back in because of CoJames N.
The pickup truck with only 11,000 miles has dents in it already. The inside looks as if has never been cleaned. All surfaces have a thick layer of dust and floors are muddy. And the truck reeked of cigarette smoke, even worse when I turned on the vents. I also left my back support pillow in the truck and not only has no one contacted me to tell me, I've tried calling 3 times yesterday and they won't even answer their phones.MICHAEL D.

Terrible experience and will never do any kind of business at Lake Erie Lawn & Garden again. Younger woman was incredibly rude. After renting truck I drove away and noticed check engine light was on. I went back and told her and she said " It's not my problem. You rented the truck so you have to call U-Haul.". Then she said it was just the maintenance light and whoever does the maintenance never reset the lights on any of the vehicles. She then said they had 4 trucks on the lot with the check engine light on as if that made it acceptable. An older woman stepped in and called the manager and I was able to get a newer truck where the check engine light was off and I successfully made my move. For me Lake Erie Lawn & Garden was the face of U-Haul and I'll rent from another company next time.Patrick H.

Truck was dirty when I picked it up. Parking was so tight that I had trouble leaving the spot where the rental vehicle was parked. The next few days I made 8 phone calls to this establishment trying to rent the vehicle again. Four times I got no answer during normal business hours. Twice I was asked to call back later. Twice, on two different days, I was told that their Uhaul computer was down.MICHAEL D.
Could not access the site, so no one at hte location could think outside of the box. Got them to give ma a truck by writing everything down on paper. A total mess. I had already checking in and done everything online and they said that didn't matter. Why even have done all of that? Many people left frustrated. Had the truck for 2 hours only. I set up the reservation online, however when I arrived, the agent told me there were no trucks available in my size requested. It was chalked up to a computer inventory error. I had to downsize to a cargo van. Please ensure inventory is truly available.STEVEN H.

They said that the van was â€œsanitizedâ€ but it reeked of the smell of smoke. Even driving with the windows down the smell wouldn't leave. My Clothes smelled like smoke when I was done and I only drove 24 total miles! The back of the van was filthy. â€œSanitizedâ€? Hardly!!PAUL K.

When I went to the truck all the sensor lights were on. When I went to tell employee she explained it was because it rained the previous night. I had to fill 2 of the tires twice during my move. And the truck had no ramp, which I was not informed.Lynda E.

Better keep an eye on your credit card or they will rip you off after you leave! I rented a 6x12 trailer for a 24hr period ending at 10:00am. The total charge was roughly $41.00. I returned the trailer before the designated time and left it in the space nearest where I took it from originally. On a whim, I took photos of the trailer and the placement. Six hours later that that same day, I got a text alert that my cc had been used at U-haul for an add'l $22.00 purchase. Wait a minute, what?! I immediately called and was first told it was the hold followed by the charge. I called BS. They then said, well you left the trailer in a different spot than you got it from so we charge you extra for that. What?!? Is this a U-haul thing? Crank up the price 50% on a bogus charge and try to sneak it in when the customer is long gone? At NO time was there any discussion that if you did not return the trailer to the EXACT spot from whence it came, you will be fined. Who ever heard of this!?! I told them "Really? Well there was U-Haul truck parked in my original space and I have time-stamped photos of everything to prove it. So have at it and prepare for a battle." Suddenly they were reversing the charge they FRAUDULENTLY charged against my card. This was NOT a simple mistake or an oversight. This was a deliberate attempt to punish a customer because they had to move their equipment, and they did it without any notification to me. They seemed pretty shocked that I called within 3 minutes of them using my card. So no, I would NOT recommend renting from this location. They have proven themselves to be dishonest.MICHAEL W.

Everything was fine, besides picking a time of when to return the uhaul. When I put the reservation in, the woman I spoke to said to put down a random time of when to return the uhaul, but that it didn't matter and that I can have the uhaul until 10pm. At 4 o clock, I get a call from a woman who was VERY rude and said I needed to have the uhaul back at 3:30. This was very confusing and then woman who called was very rude.
