What can I say, made the reservation for 3 days, changed it to 4 then changed to 2 days. Totally accommodating all the way and then needed to extend again but “our truck” had already been reserved. They provided a different truck that was perfect for our job upon return of the original truck. Seamless transfer. Incredible service. There was a line at the office window yet we were checked in and Re-checked our within less than 5 minutes including time waiting in line! Best truck rental experience ever. Mahalo for your amazing service and smiling employees! Makes our day that much better. :)) #goldstar

So easy and convenient—and when you just get their deluxe insurance you never have to waste time inspecting a truck TWICE, getting your insurance faxed over and waiting for additional paperwork...just to save $14. A terrific experience all around. The vehicle we selected was ready on time; the staff made sure to spell out all the details and gave special instructions on filling up the gas (apparently it's tricky!)—they are so detail oriented I wish I could hire them myself! We used their deluxe insurance for only $28 (peace of mind and if we had an incident, to no we could just call Marlene and they would handle everything was a relief…! What a waste of time it would be to have to deal with our own insurance company and claims… And did know about “loss of use of vehicle”??? ...you might still end up paying!) They just make everything so easy and quick I can't believe anyone would do it any other way. Even the turn-in process (If you get their insurance) is lightning fast! Very well-run local operation. We definitely recommend them AND APPRECIATE THEM!!

Bottom line up front, I fully recommend NOT renting from this location. After my experience with this Uhaul location I was absolutely appalled at how rude and condescending the clerk was upon return of the vehicle. The service was good when I picked up the vehicle but it was night and day in the difference between the clerk at pick up and and the one at drop off. First off, the contract states to top off the tank prior to return within a mile of the Uhaul, reasonable as they then have the tank full with less than a mile of travel since top off. I returned the vehicle on time and filled up the tank as specified. I had filled up the night prior closer to my home where the cost was $0.40 cheaper per gallon so there was maybe a gallon that was needed to top it off the next morning at the higher rate. The clerk scrutinized the gallons vs the miles driven and i explained that it was the amount of top off and i filled up earlier. She told me that she wanted to see the other receipt to match gallons to the miles, a bit more nit-picky than necessary as the gauge read more than full and I had “topped” it off but ok. The gas pump near home didnt print a receipt and i didnt have time to go in to get one so I offered to show her the bank statement showing the transaction which calculated out to be the right number of gallons. Her response was, no kidding, “I guess we'll take you at your word”. Im not sure if she was looking for an excuse to charge me the difference between my receipt and the gallons that 30 miles would burn at 8 MPG or if she wanted me to go try to get 4 gallons into a full tank, but there was definitely a better way to handle the misinterpretation of their top off policy and required documentation requirements. If they wanted every gas receipt for the duration of the rental, state that. They stated they wanted the receipt showing that I stopped at a station within a mile and topped it off before handing it back in. I accept blame that I didnt consider they were going to run my reciept through an algorithm on the miles traveled and fuel consumption rates to ensure I put in a very specific number of gallons. Every other rental company asks that the gauge reads full when you bring it back, done and done within they 1 mile rule. She then mentioned that maybe they need to review the wording of the contract to be more clear, to which I concurred. Rather than dropping it, she snidely stated that I wouldnt have to worry about renting from them again so it shouldnt be a problem. So after liteterally arguing with me about my interpretation of the wording of their policy and talking to me like I was not intelligent enough to understand the intent of their policy, I dropped to subject as it was not going anywhere fast. Also, the truck was beat to all hell on the exterior. It was evident that they take full advantage of the insurance policy by pocketing repair charges that happen over time and never fix any cosmetic damage to maximi

I love Marlene and her U-Hauls. And her insurance! She makes the process is so easy and with their "deluxe" insurance, we are covered. The savings in time alone is a value (who has time to walk around a 17-foot truck and note every single dent and ding??? I guess you could do it while you wait for your insurance company to fax your coverage in!?!) We had a (rare) minor fender bender; I gave the photos to Marlene and she handled the entire claim. Took me less than 10 minutes and one email. Best $28 ever spent. Mahalo Marlene, Alana and Lisa! ALOHA!

We rent UHauls from Marlene and the ladies at Kaneohe Self Storage sometimes 5 days a week and we are ALWAYS impressed! Very friendly and efficient, pro-active and service -oriented for sure. They even tried to find out if it would be better for us to buy a truck since we rent so often! They are so great, and caring too—once I forgot we were supposed to turn the truck in same-day and they called to ask if we were OK, did we need assistance/had we been in accident...when I said I'd simply forgotten the time, they so graciously told us to get the truck back when we could and SAFELY—not to rush. Totally recommend Kaneohe Self Storage!!! Mahaloz!

I wanted to rent a 17' truck fri-sun but was told that due to demand on weekends, the truck could only be rented 1 weekend day so I would need to return it by 830 sat night. When I got to the location to pick up the truck, I wanted to confirm the drop off time but was told it was scheduled to be dropped off by 830 sat morning. This was a problem since we were not receiving keys to our new house until 830 sat morning. I asked if they could change the reservation so that I could drop off later Saturday but was told someone else had already booked it. Instead of them recognizing their screw up and allowing me to book the truck for sat and telling the other person there was a mistake, I was forced to rent a smaller truck which required us to make more trips, thus costing me more $. The people working at uhaul when I picked up and dropped off were nice and apologetic for their mistake but did not try to fix the problem in any way which was extremely frustrating

The owner Bernadette is very rude and ignores any questions you may have. She loves to over charge and doesn't ever give u the reason why until you ask her at least 5 times. It seems she may be making up charges as she goes and also calls you from her cell to harass you. She definitely has an attitude problem and her experience makes me never want to rent a u Haul ever again. Pretty bad because I just rented one from Waipio and she was amazingly nice.

Overall it was a good experience but I only drove five miles and the tank was still full when I was done but I had to put in one gallon of gas or pay $30.00. Pretty ridiculous but that is their policy.

Location: Kaneohe HI. Customer Service is extremely poor. As I returned my truck rental & abided in the UHaul terms/agreement, filled the gas tank...an Employee by the name of Alana was disrespectful towards me & made a comment (regarding the gas gauge;which I returned Full)...she stated she "wanted to prove me WRONG" & charge me $30 for not putting enough gas & forced me to pump gas a second time ($5 more).I drove the truck down the street back to the gas station & the gas was literally spilling out after $1.29 was released from the pump... completely wasting gas (when she said I needed to put at least $7 worth of gas according to the mileage; she was wrong) but as she wasted my time & my money (gas profusely leaking-toped off the tank...again, she was determined to prove me wrong. I returned to the office, with my gas receipt & an actual photo of the gas spilling out of the tank as proof to Alana. The fact that she said she wanted to "prove me wrong" really bothered me because not only am I a paying customer, but I'm a business owner & NO customer should ever be treated so disrespectfully needless to say "proved wrong" when the employee is the very one who is WRONG. I would highly recommend to Alana's supervisor that she be more friendly & professional when dealing with Uhaul's customers. I rated the equipment as not well maintained because my truck broke down due to a bad battery. Customer service helped to resolved the issue within a reasonable time (~5 hours). I would recommend faster response times to breakdowns. Billing was also very helpful to apply discounts to account for the mishap.

The woman who runs the front desk is VERY strict about filling in gas to the point of inconveniencing you as a customer. After an exhaustive physical move, I was forced to go back to the gas station and pump over 1/8-1/4 gallon of gas even though the arrow was well past the fill line! She required me which I did but then she noticed I put a neat $8.00 in the tank. I ended up estimating because the keypad at the pump was broken and I wanted to use my credit card, but the gas station attendant wouldn't run my card unless I gave her a dollar amount. This was not good enough for Miss Follow-The-Book-To-A-T. She was going to impose their $30 fill in charge in me unless I went back to fill in gas! I ended up filling in an additional 1/2 a gallon but because I really pumped past the initial lever return from the feedback pressure at about an 1/8-1/4 tank just to be absolutely sure I wouldn't have to go back and fill in again. She wore my patience thin by redundantly explaining their policy to me about three times even though I repeatedly told her that I understood clearly what she meant. She then tried to point out that because I drove an electric vehicle that was where I went wrong in my gas estimate. The real reason was that I figured the amount of gas based on the miles/gallon that the average sedan gets (21 mpg). She claimed her 10' box truck got only 10 mpg. When I ended up being only 1/8-1/4 gallon short I realized that it was my driving habits as an electric vehicle owner that enhanced my fuel economy, so I was driving at someting like 15 mpg instead of only 10. A lot of hassle for so little gas and waaaaaay too strict on the full tank policy. Sheesh!!!
