When booking the vehicle for pick up in Oakville I was notified a few days before that the truck I booked would be in Milton. That small change added an hour of time to my day just to get the truck. Also, I confirmed it could be picked up at 7:30am with the Uhaul person on the telephone but when I got there to pick it up they did not open until 9am.

After reserving a 26’ truck I detected a check engine warning light on the dash. I then checked the engine oil level to discover it was below required level. I expressed my concern to the office rep. I was concerned that in the process of driving a loaded moving truck with low engine oil that I could experience a break down and could be responsible for any damages. I only used that truck because the office rep went out of her way to drive her car to the nearest gas station to purchase 4 lts of engine oil so that I could carry on with my day. In my opinion, she should not have had to do that and I certainly should not have had to deal with any pre trip maintenance. U-HAUL can do better to have equipment checked and maintained before a customer arrives. I had a team of helpers waiting for me back at the house calling me and wondering why it was taking so long to pick up the truck? Vince M.

We had a horrible experience using UHaul for the first and very last time. We had reserved a 26 foot weeks in advance when my husband went to pick up the van only the 20 was available It was initially set up to be dropped off near our new home 100 km away but then it was changed to get dropped off at the pick up point which meant we now had to take a second car to follow the uhaul again about 100km away. We spent countless hours on the road and gas What a horrible experience during such a huge milestone for my family. NEVER again will I deal with uhaul and I will be sharing my experience with others.

Booking the trailer was a bitt of a hassle. I live in Halton Hills, and I spoke to 3 different people, one who told me the closest trailer I requested would be in Huntsville. I was then connected to someone in the US, before I was forwarded to a booking person in...Halton Hills. (Georgetown). That person was great, and the experience from that point forward was also great. I particularly appreciated being able to drop the trailer off after hours.

J'avais réservé un camion de 10' pour le ramasser à Winston Churchill et Royal Windsor, à Mississauga en Ontario, mais U-Haul m'a dit qu'il fallait que j'aille le chercher à Scarborough. Ceci n'est pas acceptable. Il faut trouver un moyen pour que les clients n'aient pas à aller si loin -- de l'autre côté de Toronto, pendant l'heure de pointe -- pour recevoir leur produit. La personne à Winston Churchill et Royal Windsor n'avait pas les informations nécessaires pour m'aider, ce qui n'est pas idéal. Après plusieurs coups de télephone, j'ai finalement pu être connecté avec une personne de votre maison-mère qui m'a trouvé un camion de 15' à Milton. Pas très prêt, mais beaucoup mieux que Scarborough quand on part d'Oakville. Je suggère que vous instituez une politiques qui limite la distance entre l'endroit de la location et celui du pick-up. Aussi, donner au agents locaux plus de visibilité sur la disponibilité des autres produits dans une région plus large serait à recommander.

We were bringing the truck back after hours so I got a call earlier that day with instructions. Instructions were accurate and helpful.

We were scheduled to pick up the trailer at 12 noon on a Sunday. I was unaware that the location closed at noon. A young lady called just before 12 to inform us they were closing but agreed to wait for us. She was very helpful so, full marks to her! We then drove the trailer to our destination without incident and loaded it up the next day. On Tuesday we headed back and about halfway home a driver pulled up beside us and told us our wheel was on fire. I immediately pulled over to the side of highway 404 and saw the wheel smoking and then the tire exploded with a loud bang after a couple of minutes. I called UHaul and they sent a tow truck to pick up the trailer and drive it to our house where we could unload it. We waited about 90 minutes on the side of the highway for the tow to arrive. The driver delivered the trailer to the house, we unloaded our stuff and the driver went on his way. We would have been home around 2:30 if the trailer had not broken down. It was almost 6:30 by the time the tow truck driver loaded up the trailer and drove along the 401 in rush hour to our place in Oakville, so we lost 4 hours. I received the invoice on Wednesday and they tried to charge me an extra day because the trailer was not delivered back on time. I called and complained and also asked for a discount because of the lost time and inconvenience. All they would agree to was to remove the extra day we were charged and one more day "out of compassion". I felt this was unacceptable.

I have used this U HAUL location before The staffs are friendly but very professional and very attentive So therefore improvements I’m sure are always a good thing but your company is “Well” Represented at this location ! Don’t change a thing ! Thanks Rob

This is an extremely narrow and biased survey. My experience with the people at the pick-up and drop off location was very professional. My experience with the Uhaul company (online and customer service) was very frustrating. I doubt I will use Uhaul again.
