It was not the fault of guy at jacks. It is the entire fault of U-Haul as a company. The lack of management skills are the least on the least on the list. Surpassed only by a parade of employees dishing out level of disrespect, immature and unprofessional business practices. To begin with a complete customer copy of the contract should have been provided at the execution of the rental. It was NOT !!!! It was requested on several occasions throughout this nightmare. To NO avail. An original copy of contract was not ever provided only edited and forced placed upon me. For a company that has been in business as long as U-Haul you would think they would have higher standards. No, not the case in fact the "old bait n switch",used car sales technique comes to mind. When we became aware that our circumstances surrounding the move had drastically changed,we contacted customer care to make would seem to be a simple change. As it was explained that a long term agreement would've in our new best interest. After explaining the details of our changes,the representative adjusted a mileage credit to accommodate the extended term. A discussion of $20.00 per day for rent with understanding of term extended to 30 days plus. The insurance was explained as a one-time expense by original representative. It was in understanding of like trip insurance it covers the entire event. The second customer service rep never mentioned changing the insurance portion of the contract. This unfortunately just the beginning of total madness. The contract issues came into play when a " corporate manager took it upon herself to rewrite the contract terms to her liking some 20 plus almost 30days into possession of the rental. Dismissing the mutually agreed upon terms of 20 .00 per day. Stating that was impossible and no one would agree to the that. Etc all the while taking a cold ,arrogant oppositional, defensive stance. She stated throughout the interaction with us in a repeatly threatening and sarcastic manner. ""ALL calls are recorded" Great please pull the call recording and resolve the rate dispute. I requested we be a part of this review process. The " corp representative" disregarded that suggestion as well. She supposedly reviewed the previous reps call with us in mutual agreement of the rate. She stated she did not hear that at all in the details of the call . She quoted a third set of figures different then the ones she provided to us the day before. She then produced a contract, the first time we had received one in almost 30 days of rental. Now she was charging per day diem for insurance and rental for truck and insurance was accumulating at $ 140.00 per a day. After objecting strenuously to her forced place contract that it is unfair and illegal to write a new contract with out both parties in agreement to the terms . That made no difference she sent via email that day . A few days later a different contract appeared with different rates and terms and mileage allowances. Attempts to correct her actions went unaddressed by customer service, corporate etc. We still had to move noatyer what . We believed that a reasonable person would be able to review this situation at the end of the business doings areake the appropriate agreed changes. Onwards we eventually were road bound ,loaded . Right from the beginning the battery died in our driveway without cause . A service call was placed and the battery was jumped to start. Then only few miles in the truck was sluggish, and gas guzzling . The mileage was terrible averaging 5 to 8 miles per gallon. The road speed was so slow it nearly caused multiple accidents. Causing traffic congestation behind us as well as inability to merge in normal traffic situations. It caused extended road time resulting in increased expenses for food accomadations,gas expenses. All the while the battery/ charging system would go dead on a whim. Instead of addressing the problem U-Haul service reps would put in new battery . Insisting it's fixed ! NOT , leaving us stranded in the heat , with all our belongings in adverse,unsafe environments. After several calls to U-Haul service contractors three times . We also had to foot the bill for three calls in remote locations without cellphone and internet service. With personal circumstances of a death of my partners father and all the glory of probate court. All of this being processed by an individual with severe disabilities ,A traumatic brain injury due to a tragic auto versus motorcycle in 2015. With Mr. Kares not at fault in any way. Seemingly at times U-Haul seemed to try to explain away the performance conditions and extra expenses and added stress factors caused by U-Hauls truck and employees victimization techniques. The complete lack of accountability to the customer , to the companies own self image and honor to good business throughout the years. No pride or honor in providing the customer with a quality product at a reasonable cost according to agreed terms. The current circumstances in which we find our selves is deplorable. Upon the completion of the road trip/ move from purgatory. We were unable to move into our intended property. While U haul has NO fault in that manner it does have due to fact they lied , misrepresented, schemed , used unfair predatory as well as discriminatory business practices. The latest incident occuring as a result of a credit card that was terminated due to fraudlant charges occuring from a hotel stay on the extended road trip. The U-Haul charges were unfairly being levied against the checking account on file. However when the bank recognized fraudlant charges from another resource the charges were ceased. Leaving a balance due unbeknownst to us. Not one phone call requesting alternate form of payment. The only calls that were received were repeated calls from Jason from U-Haul repeatly asking if we had completed our move. We repeatly explained circumstances that our property although deeded in Mr kares name remained unavailable therefore we needed U-Haul still. At some point Mr. Jason was calling in a harassing manner pestering us to end our business with U-Haul and make his location the receiving location of the truck. We finally stated do not call us we will call you when ready. All the while bill is paid in full. Still further calls came in from that location. Calls ignored by us. Where upon this last Friday July 15 as call was received from he stated that he needed truck returned now. Screaming belittling , arguing,accusing of theftetcstating he would allow Mr.KARES to surrender vehicle get it unloaded immediately his deadlines for Monday July 18 and he would now disclose the U-Haul location and it would be repossessed and terminated as theft of vehicle. Renfroe Lawn care knowing the exact nature of Mr kares medical conditions as well as his emotional state proceeded to bully threaten him berating him unrelentlsly. Finally with Mr Kares collapsing in a condition of unconscious. The only response on the phone from U-Haul dealer was I think he hung up. I replied as his partner I, he passed out. I need to seek medical assistance for him. Instead of keeping his commitment to surrender the U-Haul rental on Monday as proclaimed in this phone call. Renfroe's immediately ordered repossession of vehicle and took possession of vehicle and contents. After seizure was completed Renfroe's further stipulated the personal contents would be available Monday the 18th at agreed upon storage facility. Renfroe's would drive vehicle to storage facility for unloading by Mr.Kares. rental monies have been paid to secure storage facility at their insistence and instruction. It seems to be a collective established effort to again mislead,and victimize Mr Kares.Enticing unfair and insincere business practices to cohoarse him into a financial circumstance to take advantage of Mr Kares medical and emotional state. Therefore rewarding himself with the rewards of Mr Kares cargo rich with numerous resources of tools building materials , furniture,collectables etc.... Renfroe's has violated Mr.Kares civil liberty rights in multiple violations now he is going for the win by begrudging him of his property and misleading and taking advantage of all ways possible. Renfroe's has cut off very heavy duty locks to door of U-Haul as well as a private car trailer. Mr. Renfroe's denies that these locks were in place. However there is physical evidence that proves Mr.Kares position. Under state law these contents are NOT to be covenanted for personal self enrichment . There are proper, specific course of actions and standards that must be maintained by statue as well as a U-Haul contracted agent. Mr Kares is afforded the same rights as all of Uhaul customers per the law and contracted terms by U-Haul. STOP him from making Mr. Kares a victim again. U-Haul company stand behind your product and employees commitment adjust the charges to the specific agreed terms make restitution for the additional time,stress,expenses incurred as a direct result of the rental trucks performance and U-Haul contracted service technicians,employees. Once again Mr. Renfroe is insisting he has very little time to complete this transfer of property to Mr Kares. It seems that Renfroe's has a shared mutually beneficial relationship with this storage facility. I believe this will afford Renfroe's to attempt to collect unfair,unjust monies and or property due to them. Further endangerment of Mr. Kares well being, rights and property will warrant swift and severe legal and physical defensive stances to be undertaken. Mr.RenFroes intentions are clear Mr.Kares appears as requested to transfer property he will be subject to harassment, bulling ,threatening mentally and physically.Failure of Renfroe's to collect monies in full will result in loss of properties for Mr.Kares. Mr Kares received NO correspondence via email , phone calls,written letters stating his payment method was denied. But yet a phone call from Renfroe's acting on U-Hauls contract. Mr.Renfroe intentions are to tell Uhaul Mr.Kares did not show up to redeem property nor pay the bill in full. Therefore he retains property. Why would Mr.Renfroe make generous arrangements for Mr.Kares when his legal and contractual obligation is with Uhaul. Mr.Renfroe has already cutoff locks on truck as well as trailer in which he had NO legal rights! (Mr).Renfroe has entered into that rented U-Haul by MR.KARES. Mr.Kares went to location as Renfroe's on July 16 2022 and voluntarily submitted his copy of Uhaul ignition and keys to both locks. Please note a strict,detailed inventory list was prepared and recorded witnessed and verified. At this point in time Mr.Kares has a court appearance on July 18, 2022 he advised Renfroe's as to the same. Mr.Kares made a commitment to meet him after the court appearance. There is NO way that it is U-Hauls corporate policy /contract for third party to cutoff locks to U-Haul rental immediately and began taking possession of personal property. Under South Carolina annotated code no demand for payment was served to Mr.Kares. under terms of laws the U-Haul locked contents should not have been disturbed in anyway. The lock mechanism should NOT have been removed. At this time Mr Kares will be available upon completion of court appearance in probate court July 18 2022. All property shall be returned to Mr.Kares mediately without further incident. Payment of balance for.Uhaul.contractual obligation needs to take a normal collection process cycle to resolve. Not a predetermined outcome by a individual with a corrupt and self serving agenda I look forward to an immediate action plan to avoid further loss to Mr.Kares / U-Haul Company. This was an actual “himeowners” side-business. They conducted business at their kitchen table. Numerous dogs were inside the home. The wife was nice, but she was just covering for the husband. Her son actually came out to hookup the Car Trqnaport…it was certainly not professional to my level of expectation. The Truck inside was not clean and the windshield was filthy inside and out with bugs, guts, and just buildup. I would never go back to this location nor recommend it to anyone ever!

The lack of communication concerning the pickup of the truck was non existent. We drove for 24 minutes, in the rain, to arrive at a non attended lot, with no instructions. Finally, after calling the main number, we were talked through the process, and about 30 minutes later we were able to secure the vehicle.

I arrived after dark and it was at a private home owners property and it wasn't lit up well at all. It needs to have some visible signage also, as it's on a back road. The lady was very nice and helpful.
