I reserved a van and furniture dollies from Vineland location. When I arrived I was told to wait as they were unable to log into U-Haul application (I later learned from corporate location that this is common.) Once they were able to connect, the application went smoothly. The clerk was friendly enough so that was a plus. But I have an issue with the fact that I was not given rental paperwork which was instead emailed to my home (I do not have access to my email on my phone.) I then learned they did not have furniture dollies and was told to go to corporate location (being charged by the mile) to pick them up. I also received a van whose gas tank was only 7/8 or a little less full - when I returned, I spent $40 filling the tank... how does one easily only fill to 7/8 or a little less? I was also confused by the text that I received asking me to inspect and photograph the van before taking it. All in all, a less that satisfactory experience.

The van I was scheduled to receive had a severely broken side mirror, so I was then given the only other van of the same size, which had rear break lights permanently stuck on. This drained the battery, so when I tried to start the van back up to return home, it was dead. Please try to do timely maintainence of your fleet of vehicles so these kinds of problems don't continue.
Tyler PI rent monthly. Truck was worst so far. Check engine light was on, vent louvre was on the floor. Passenger side visor broken & on the floor, driver side visor tip broken off, window gasket loose and leaked air, driver door hard to close, something going on with chassis on turns, filthy.

SERGEI PI was charged $499 after the truck was returned as a final charge. No one can explain why before the charge came through as I looked at the receipt that evening. Two days later as my account was still pending the last payment of $220 that I made on 2/13/2025, I called and spoke to Area Field Manager Jonathan. He closed out the account while we were on the phone and sent a final receipt after he stated I will receive a refund of $74 rather than a final charge of $499. The updated receipt reflected that right after the phone call and I saw the $74 refund pending my account. However, I noticed the $220 charge and refund of $74 were gone and I was charged the $499 yesterday 2/22/25. I called U-Haul and was on hold for 45mins as I was transferred to the wrong people 2x. I also texted Area Field Manager Jonathan, but did not receive a response as my bank is negative due to the erroneous $499 charge.

Would not recommend this location.

ROSLYNN MThe people who own this location were extremely late to our appointment. They were almost 40 minutes late which made us fall behind schedule. We arrive early to our appointment and no one was there. They were extremely unprofessional when they pulled out the truck we were supposed to use and didn't even try to help us how to use it. Thankfully we figured it out but there was no pointers or help on their behalf. I've never experienced such a disregard and unprofessionalism. And on top of that they had a poor husky chained?? The poor dog was extremely dirty and he looks lonely. What kind of people just have a dog chained up like that?

Return took 40minz because the person in front of me had the same problem. Kind of long to check out & was late to appointment with no idea of cost.

I don't recommend renting a U-Haul from a gas station, I would always recommend renting from an actual dealership, but I was in a rush and the dealership I went to did not have what I needed available so I ended up at this location.

VAGE VThis was an awful experience. There was no one there, and they put out the wrong truck for me to pick up. They also did not have the dolly or moving blankets I ordered, and no one called to notify me of this. I was forced to pick up a truck that was not mine on the app, and the location said just take it, it'll be fine and we can change it on the back end. When I went to drop off my truck, I had to lie on the check in because they did not in fact change it. This place seriously needs to be shut down. Awful experience on an already stressful day.

TJ TThe main rep who assisted me at this location was a lazy angry man, he made me setup the tow transport myself didn't come out to assist. The tow hitch was stuck behind another box trailer when I asked him to come outside and check the setup he didn't. I told him the trailer was stuck he asked me to lift it with him I assisted but that was not safe and it was extremely heavy he then stated that he needed to get the dolly and tried to escort me to the place in the back of the business where the dolly's were I told him I am not going to move other equipment I did not rent because I do not want to be responsible he then stated that it wasn't his job to move it. I stated it wasn't my job either because I do not work for U-Haul I'm a renter he then told me to cancel my booking because he wasn't going to do it that he doesn't get paid enough for that and walked back inside. I followed him inside and asked for the customer service number he refused to give it to me and then said I don't work for U-Haul I said then how are you checking me out? He stated he is helping U-Haul but he doesn't work for U-Haul that he works for the gas station. Said that the owner of the gas station owns the U-Haul as well but he only works for the gas station. After pulling the tow transport with my car gently I was able to get it from what was blocking it with no damage I went inside to get help he then told me to take pictures and send it to his phone because he wasn't busy luckily a very nice lady from the Hollywood way location had just walked in and said she would assist me with checking out she checked the setup and noticed it wasn't locked which means it could have come apart on my trip because he didn't check it the first time and got me taken care of. The old man at the Vinland location at Jackie's service does not need to be in customer service telling a customer you don't get paid enough to do your job is crazy this reservation was a nightmare not sure you will be receiving my business ever again

Shanti MThe steering wheel was down to the metal in one spot and the rest of the cover was falling apart. The radio did not work. The seats were so old, the covers were lop-sided. The inside of the truck bed was so worn the wood was cracking and looked like it would give way. Overall, the truck was filthy inside and out.

Meerimbek IThe drop off process was HORRIBLE. I booked online and picked a drop off location out of the list given on the website. I called the drop off location PRIOR to renting to make sure the hours for the drop off. At no point did the person on the other end say that they couldn't not accept the trailer. Then, on the day of the D/O to I called to say I wouldn't be able to d/o that day, and it would be the best day. I was told, "no problem, I Got you". Again,I wasn't told that "traffic" or corporate would call to re-direct me. On the day of the drop off, I arrived at the location from the initial order. 8265 Lankershim BL. No Ho, CA, 91605. I waited for the guy to arrive onsite only to tell me to go 1.5mile away to a second site b/c he couldn't accept the trailer. I did so. I went to ASPIRE VAPE CO. @12228 Sherman Way. #52226. After unhooking the trailer, the attendant there told us he didn't have us in his system. He called reservation, and I was told by a Reservation manager, Chris, that I had to go to a 3rd place. This after waiting on hold and for him to transfer me to Michael at the Santa Clarita office, 661-298-8222 ext. 309. I think asking the customer to drop off at 3 sites is 100% unacceptable. Likewise, telling the customer that they will be charged a fee if I left the trailer at the site a representative told me to take the trailer is unacceptable. The man at ASPIRE was great. I can't say the same for the other representatives. Michael listened to my complaints but was condescending. he told me he would credit the late day charge but that didn't happen. I was still charged, put on hold off and on for almost 2 hours to get the situation settled and missed my appointment I was trying to get too afterward. The whole situation was unacceptable. If the customer follows the agreement from the online booking, and it needs to be changed, traffic should get pinged and reach out to the customer so all the frustration can be avoided. It's not on the customer to find another place to return the equipment if the website allows differently. Like wise, the Dallas contingent reached out in advance, it was poor processing the LA SIDE FAILED. The recording when you call to book direct you to book online, these things should be in a software to see the site can't or won't take returns. NOT MY FAULT. Insult to injury not to have complaints heard and discount given for the inconvenience. I was just given threats of more fees. . Terrible experience in returning the equipment. the Jackie's Service Station attendant was lovely. Came out to direct placement and help unhook the trailer. The lot was crowded, but ultimately, Jackie's Service Station was great.

PORFIRIO SActually be there to receive the truck back and charge the right about for the rental. We rented a truck at 10:04 am and returned it at about 6pm the same day. We have a receipt that we got gas at the gas station attached for the UhAul before returning it. They charged for 2 days and said the truck was returned at 2pm the next day. They just made up a day and time and charge what they want. I don't get it.
JON LThis was not a great experience and very stressful. I arrived at the time to pick up a 10' truck with 2 Dollie's and furniture pads. The guy - solo at the time - said there were no more trucks and kept trying to call someone (my guess corporate) to figure it out. He was talking in circles for a while. He eventually said I could get the 20' truck for the same price and I said I don't need that as it's too big but if it's my only option I'll take it. He says the only thing is that the Dollys are there and there is another location to go get them. He said he would reimburse me for them. In comes the owner who is now listening in. As we are talking more and still going in circles and 1.5 hours later. The owner steps in. I asked if the I drive to this other location with a truck and ask for dolly's I don't have to pay? The first guy says I can't guarantee it. I say so what am I supposed to do if I can't get them there? The first guy says you should be able to but sometimes not. The owner says I don't appreciate your attitude, we've been trying to help you out and gave you a big truck and he told you about the Dollys that he can't refund them. I then say, you weren't here for half of this conversation he said in the beginning that he could refund me but now he's saying he can't. This conversation has been going in circles and now I have to drive to a location that I may or may not get Dollys that I reserved. Owner then threatens to cancel my order and confirms it with the other guy. I then go why are you canceling my order when the other guy is saying one thing when you aren't around and now it's something different. He claimed I had an attitude and I was being hostile, meanwhile I was talking in the same tone the entire time. Eventually I get the truck, no Dollys because the place they sent me were out and said they could've checked by calling. I return the truck after a longer day than expected and it was just not a great experience.
KALEB Vthis experience was a joke....from the get got it went bad....i reserved my truck 3 weeks out and when i showed up to pick it up they didnt have it..they just rented it out to some walk in customer right before i got there...than the 25 year old owner wearing his Scarface jacket got me the truck back and told me i could drop this truck off in palmdale where i was moving to at NO EXTRA CHARGE....come to find out the very next day i was charged over $225 due to me dropping off the truck in the spot where i WAS TOLD TO drop it off and then billed me for fuel that i left them with MORE than what i picked it up with...NEVER AGAIN will i use this bullshit companyl...NEVER

Had to leave the key with the cashier in the connected Shell gas station. They charged me for 2 gallons of gasoline for only 13 miles of usage. Charged me more per gallon of gas than their price at the gas station they own. Will never use them again or recommend them to anyone.
