I've rented from Penske 100 + times for my business. This is my 1st u haul in 20 years and: - You lost me as a customer when you required me to upload a photo of my drivers license. - I dislike the whole online check in process including: - The pictures were blurry and I could not see any damage except big dents. - I could not ID the x's on the van although that is a good idea. - The mileage on the odometer didn't match and had I not caught it and pointed out to the attendant, I would have been charged for an extra 70 miles. - It took longer from time of arrival to my leaving the lot than any time in my experience and I was the only person checking in. I except technology although it needs improvement, but I do not except the need to store images of my drivers license on your servers to be hacked. BYE

Mileage on my contract was incorrect. I was overcharged. Outgoing mileage on the contract was incorrect but I didn’t notice it until I had driven away in the truck.

When I arrived at the drop off after being the only person to enter the van during the rental period and only having a drink along the way I was informed I had dirtied up the van so much they had to pull it out of commission to clean it. I didn’t realize how dirty it was til I opened the passenger side and found bits of garbage and food along the edges of the interior as if it was never vacuumed or cleaned in the first place. Now I realize anyone can bring a dirty van in and claim it wasn’t in the first place. But as i was waiting for a customer to finish up before she helped me I noticed they did a walk around before signing off and found it odd they never did this with me in the first place. After finally arguing with the lady and hearing her accuse me of giving her a dirty truck and that I was basically lying about it I finally got checked out and received my deposit back because she “didn’t want to deal with me and was in the fence about charging me or not for the dirty truck” in cash after informing the lady that I used a cash card when I picked up. Then after about an hour or so I received a phone call stating they mistakingly gave me the money in cash and I was to return it immediately. I then stated, if I don’t receive the money back on the card I would not give it back and still have not received the money back 3 days after drop off. She was rude during this whole process and was told after apologizing for the dirty truck they gave me she told me to shell never rent to me again. Honestly if I knew a little crap along the edge of the floor that was there when I rented the damn truck was going to cause such a headache I would’ve just ran a shop vac through it and called it a day.

The truck I rented needs maintenance done. The steering wheel is off and pulls to the right badly. Could have suspension issues. Also it felt like the engine has a miss may need a tune up.

Kim & Monty were Great!!! Although Uhauls computers took OVER 15 minutes... with a phone call to Uhaul Traffic , finally she was able to override the computer problems! Come on Uhaul corporate ... your field teams are Great, only to be let down by your computers :(

Overall was a good experience. The big negative was that when I returned the truck after driving it only about 10 miles, I was charged $18 for 4 gallons of gas! I could understand if it was 1 or 2 gallons, but the gauge moved less than 1/8 from when I picked it up to dropped it off, and that would have meant I’d driven almost 40 miles instead of 10. So unfortunately a $20 U-Haul turned into $75 after miles and insurance and “gas reimbursement”. So make sure to top off the gas tank.

The computer program the staff were needing to use was failing to allow them to make adjystments or corrections to information within the program. I was the only client in the office and the truck rental procedure took over 20-minutes...not because the staff person was incompetent, but because the program was being a challenge to use. Improve the program and make it WAY more user-friendly!
