I think the 15 foot trucks are probably a little to old to be on the road. This is the second time this summer I've rented one this size and both times the stearing mechanism feels very "loose". I would definitely not drive these trucks on the highway. By the way, I am female and don't feel comfortable driving a truck bigger than this size but if Uhaul can't or won't be buying new trucks of this size and I happen to need one in the future, then I might as well just hire a moving company to do the whole move for me. The inside of the truck was dirty. We had to wash it before loading our belongs inside. Smelled funny too.Kerri W.
I explained the issue with the wrong truck listed on the contract and they said they would handle it. However, after I already explained to them what happened they still called me the next day and wondered why I had not turned the truck in that was listed incorrectly on the contract. Communication was poor on their part.Marvin W.

15'-truck was great one-day move as was Houskas. I had two issues not Houskas related: 1) radio speakers did not work. Not a huge deal but certainly, but not insignificant for five hours in one vehicle 2) wording on contract and at store key drop-off was insufficient to understand the necessary steps for self-return. There should have been all-cap notices that tell customer:. DO NOT LEAVE LOT OR DEPOSIT RETURN KEYS UNTIL ALL STEPS ARE MADE ONLINE INCLUDING REQURIED PFOTOS OF MILEAGE ON DASH, CAB AND TRUCK INTERIOR, AND SMART PHONE VALIDATION OF LOCATION. I had to return to the location to complete these steps. Return check in would have been impossible had I not photographed dash on my own prior to returning keys on initial visit. ,(If you do not complete mobile self check in yoy will be charged $20 next day to do so with a rep)Todd V.

Have a U-Haul available when you have rented it out for a certain time and don't change it from a 24/7 pick up to a hand transaction the morning of rental. Call them and give new customer heads up that U-Haul won't be there in the morning like expectedRick B.

The van smelled like cigarette smoke it was so bad that I had to run it with the windows down. When I arrived the van wasn't ready for me according to the instructions and I had to run around looking for it. It was just a hassle that I didn't need. I have had much better experiences and much worse with other dealers.TRAVIS R.

I was originally supposed to pick up at air hydraulic on baumgartner industrial ,a after hours operation Your check in procedure was very flawed GPS would not allow me to check in The bar code scan would not recognize the scan The whole procedure was a disaster I will never do that again !!!!John W.

The truck was clean but the smell of smoke in the cab and cargo was really bad. I had to spend time and money way to clean it so our furniture and I weren't permeated on the 980 mile trip. Clean otherwise.Ty V.

Although the equipment was clean, there was a folder in the truck (I assume from the previous renter) that contained all of their rental information, including a copy of their drivers license and SS card. The online return option was surprisingly difficult. It required photo uploads. Because it was pouring down rain I didn't want to stand outside the vehicle and take pictures of the passenger and cargo compartments to prove it did not require cleaning before the next person could use it. As a result, I was charged a cleaning fee for a service that was likely not even completed.Robin M.

The U-Haul website is useless! It could not find my location so I was unable to pick up my vehicle. The "scan bar code" didn't work either. I was on hold for more than half an hour without an answer. I had to wait for the store to open, making me late for my rental. I will not be using U-Haul again because I cannot pick up during non-business hours. The location is amazing. U-Haul has lost my business.Thad J.
We had reserved a 19.99 truck in person. When we arrived they did not have one. They only had a 29.99 truck which we had to take as 3 families were involved in this move, timewise. That was frustrating, especially in these times where money is important. Personnel were kind and truck was in great shape.THOMAS H.
I did not receive the vehicle I rented. Therefore I was given a box truck, which was bigger Than I needed. This vehicle cost more in fuel and sat up higher which was harder for me to get in and out of. I have medical issues so that's why I rented a smaller vehicle lower to the ground.erikah M.
Important equipment reserved, a 2-wheel dolly and 4-wheel furniture mover, was not available at my scheduled pickup day/time, which complicated and Made my move much more difficult. At return, I wasn't fully refunded for both pieces of equipment. After a lengthy and frustrating process, I was told I'd have to make it right through UHaul. $7.00 is due at the very least. I hope yo get a refund so that I don't have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.NANCY S.

None of the employees had on masks. Every retailer out there is requiring them but not ACE. They seem to not care about the health of their customers but not only that they sent me to 3 different areas where I stood in line each time to be told to go somewhere else.Michael S.

The U-Haul website only works sporadically and phone support is very poor (hold times of 20-30 minutes). "Chat" support is delayed and not helpful. I was given two Support phone numbers that were not being answered. Houska's ACE Hardware staff is friendly and helpful!Thad J.

When I picked up the 9' van I rented, it wouldn't start. The agent at Houska's quickly exchanged the vehicle for a 10' truck and kept me on schedule. I was only charged the 9' van rate. I appreciate the friendly service at Houska's ACE Hardware. They always put the customer first.Thad J.
