There was no proper uhaul drop box knly a black box contacting 3 locking slots, all the padlocks were broke and would not lock, nobody was in the business on a Thursday at 2pm and I couldnt get ahold of anyone for assistance, I ended up having to put the keys in the mail slot since I had no other way of returning the keys safelyâ€¦Kelsey B.

No inclination that this was even a uhaul location except a truck and van out front. No signage. No 24 hour return instructions. No personnel at all. Didn't know until 2 days later that they even processed my return!Heidi B.
Truck was absolutely disgusting, had spilled drinks all over it, was filled with doghair and smelled like a wet dog. The back was also filthy, was covered in construction material, had to clean it out and use a carpet mat so I wouldnt get my stuff dirty. I had to throw out the mat it was so dirty when doneJohn S.

I am extremely upset with the drop off. I went to the UHaul in Schenectady, NY originally, but when I got there, the staff informed me that they had no space in their lot for the truck that I was dropping off. This original UHaul location was close to home, and I was planning on jogging home. Because of the lack of space, they told me to drop off at a different location that was farther away from home and required me to get a last minute car ride home. My ride was in the middle of her workday which was an inconvenience to her too. On top of that, I needed to complete an online drop off rather than having the staff check out the UHaul (which is what I prefer). The online drop off was pretty seamless, but my phone died before I was able to complete the process because I wasn't expecting to have to use my phone originally so it didn't have enough charge (because I was not planning on doing the online drop off). Overall, I am very unsatisfied with the drop off process; I should have been informed way ahead of time that the UHaul drop off location needed to be altered. Please make this change for future drop offs.Jeffrey M.

The interior of the van was dirty & smelled like stale tobacco. In this time of Covid 19, that is not acceptable. We cleaned the interior & wiped down the surfaces up front with disinfectant wipes. After we did this, the wipes were black. This, obviously, had not been done for a while.KARENLOUISE E.

This was so so convenient during the pandemic. Easy to drive, great vehicle and at extremely affordable rates. I move often as my job requires it, and I will be returning to U-Haul for truck rentals. NOT HOME STINKIN DEPOT. Thank You /Liam GrayLiam G.

When i went to pick up my first van it would not start. It had spilled coffee, a match book, the floor had debris all over it and there was a homeless man sleeping in the back. When sort of uhaul employee arrived he knocked on an unmarked door (no indication at all that there was a uhaul office). A young girl answered the door and there was at least one small dog there and dog toys strewn all over the floor. The uhaul employee did not give me his position or name. He did give me a second van that sunk up to its wheel wells in mud and had to be towed out. While my experience at this particular location was awful, the gal who helped me online was very helpful and quickly helped in getting me an extra day of van (at me request) use since i had lost many hours in waiting for a new van and for it to get towed.Susan C.

I reserved a 15' truck from U-haul online on Saturday (02/29) to be used on Sunday (03/01) at 11:00 am from the 2516 Hamburg St, Schenectady address. I got notified via voicemail that my the truck I originally reserved which was said to be "$50 guaranteed reservation" available on your website was unavailable and later canceled. I called customer service on Sunday and they said resubmitted my reservation for a 24/7 Uhaul truck located through your 1602 State St. Schenectady location. When I went to get the key for the truck from the lockbox the key was missing for the original truck. I had to call customer service again since there was no one on-site to deal with the issue (and wait for an extra 15 minutes on hold). They told me to get another truck at the same location through a separate lockbox. I ended up taking the second truck. Additionally in the receipt, there is also a $5 charge for furniture pads but we never actually got them so I want this removed.Sriram B.
The check out via iphone was ridiculous. What about those people who don't have a smart phone? Terrible to expect everyone to run that gamut when returning a vehicle. Would be better if staff was there when we arrived and also when we returned.Sandra W.

The truck was great. Your pricing is rather expensive. I would look to find a more cost effective rental solution in the future. It may be that your pricing is competitive, I was surprised to be charged almost $400 for 2.5 days rental. Good for you if you can charge that much. The process was very convenient. Have a live person there to help. The parking was horrible so I had to risk that it was ok to park all the way around back by a fence and hope that the tree over there dint fall on the truck so that I would be blamed. Also it took about 20 minutes to take pictures of the entire truck because of all the "x" stickers. I thought auto check in would be easier but definitely not. I'd rather someone walk around the truck with me and go over a photo wioth all the damn X's. I'll go to a different location next time.Jennifer M.
