Make sure that some one is actually there when they make an appointment to meet you. I drove 27 miles to be told, you can sit and wait till they get here... after an hour they said, oh, maybe in another couple of hours. Tuck was parked in, scheduled pickup at 7 am and office was closed. Check engine light was on. Cab of truck was filled with gaterade bottles and trash. Back of truck was not swept. Uhaul charged me for gas although I replenished the tank as instructed.Sarah H.

I was very frustrated upon returning the truck because I had trouble with the app. the "share my location" option would not work no matter how many times I re did it correctly. After 30 minutes, I took another photo of the mileage and I went home. I then spent 30 mins on hold waiting to speak to a customer service agent. I also was on the 'instant chat' for over 20 minutes before I logged out. The process worked out as far as the final receipt but perhaps there could be an option to move past the 'share my location' entry f not working. After all, there is no question where the truck is if the dealer finds it on his/her lot. I would like to have saved that hour and a half of trying to submit a return at the lot and later online.Debra E M.

Check engine light on. First uhaul I rented was not avaliable. Had to drive an extra 20 miles Noth ways to pick one up after my reservation was not available. Truck was dirty and smelled like gasoline. Also was missing the driver windshield wiper.Robert P.

It would be helpful to get an email or something that explains everything we would need to know about the 24/7 rental option. It took us over an hour to get our truck because we had to sit on hold on the help line for more than 30 minutes waiting to get help. Once they were on the line it was pretty smooth, but before that we were thinking we might not be successful at all (we did not have the "pick up your truck" option in our account and the help folks had to activate it). Once we had the truck, it was a an easy and effective solution to moving out of our house. We are planning on doing another rental this week but we will do it during open hours so we can benefit from an in person check in. Thank you!Calvin M.

had appointment for 5 o'clock got there at 4:45 the guy was already gone and locked up for the day had to call him to come have him come back, only to find out they didn't have the truck i reserved. So i ended up with a 10ft box truck to tow a car transport trailer which isn't very ideal in the winter. honestly very unsatisfied and would have just canceled the whole thing if i didn't need it right than and thereRyan M.

When I reserved the truck/equipment it said I'd need $39.00 for the deposit, but when I went to pick up the truck/equipment they said I had to pay $100.00 for the deposit. Then On my UHaul account showed a receipt for $35.00, but when I dropped off the truck/equipment., I was only given $30.00. I have copies of all of the transactions as proof that I was ripped off. I arrived and had to wait for someone to open the door as it was not open yet. This was around 10am. Finally someone, not the owner, arrived and let the customers in. After waiting another 45min I finally got my truck. I've never seen a business being run in such a matterLINDAANN B.
We had to do our uhaul check in online at the last minute because no one was at the location. We couldn't get reception songs to drive to the local hospital to get reception. When we finally got that done and got the keys to the cargo van and started it a low tire indicator came on and we discovered the right front tire was low. The seats were covered with pet hair and the back of the van was muddy. We had to fill the tire several times with air during our trip. For the price we paid for the rental this was ridiculous. Simple upkeep and maintenance should be provided.Robert R.

H&H towing was excellent. Uhaul could have done better. Our reservation was changed, we got a free upgrade because the trailer we wanted wasn't available locally. Great! Never received the promised email confirmation, so I had to call H&H to confirm. Everything went smoothly, except for confirmation. FINALLY received a receipt email, 6 days after talking to the representative, where i noticed I was billed and charged for the protection plan I had denied in the original reservation. No way to deny it again, I wasn't asked by the representative, and never received a communication until I got the email receipt. Not the end of the world, but not the point. I showed up for the appointment I scheduled. The gentleman who runs it was on his way out. Said he had an emergency. Instead of allowing an employee to handle the emergency or to handle my appointment says he'll be back he just locks up and says he'll be back. An hour after my scheduled appointment, I get the truck. The milage was wrong and had to be adjusted. Which was corrected. But, put me behind schedule with my helpers. You could tell the truck had seen a whole lot of people's journeys with a little wear and tear but got from Point A to B, then to C and D, with E plus back to A, absolutely fine!! I can't even tell you how much that truly meant to me! I'm also glad the truck was exactly the measurements that it showed on the website because I had the just the amount of space I needed to fit everything! The people in my life that were supposed to help me move ended up canceling on me last minute so not having to deal with any added stress with this service is why I'm writing this review! The design of the vehicle also, made the transition go as smoothly as unloading a 10' box truck all by yourself, full of a one bedroom apartment's stuff, could possibly go!! I'm happy to report that because of it I sustained no major injuries!! The gentleman at the counter and others who were inside also seemed like really nice people! There was one thing with the truck I didn't need and he came out to help as soon as he possibly could! Great customer service for sure! Thanks U-Haul and H&H Towing!! I appreciate the assist!! I received a online reservation confirmation then a courtesy call from a pick-up location that no equipment is available. The location and the dealer were great, even under the extraordinary circumstances resulting from the incompetence of the UHaul company, with whom it was necessary for me to make no fewer than. five separate reservations â€" for pickups at four different locations, none which turned out to be the location from which I was finally instructed to pick up the truck I did receive (which did not, btw, include any of the equipment I reserved and for which i was charged). All of this to secure a truck one size smaller than the truck I initially reserved three weeks prior, for pickup on the specified date, in Ithaca New York, along with 3 hours of moving help from crew of 4 who, lo and behold!, did not show up at the agreed upon time, phoning a few hours prior to it to explain that while the "reservation is okay, we do not have any guys for it,": this constituting their response to my request for a refund (indeed, rather than a refund, I was charged an additional $400 the following day, when the job had been, apparently, "completed." Lucky for me, I was able to find another crew on short notice to also not show up (although they were kind enough to not charge for doing so). In any event, I was unable to pick up the truck I reserved at the Geneva location when I arrived 5am (the app would not let me mw, providing me only with an option to view the receipt), and thus I made a 6th reservation while in the parking lot, luckily finding a truck for a 4 hour period of time. Once I secured this truck and returned home to Trumansburg, called UHaul to extend the reservation, as the lack of moving help made it impossible for me to complete the job in the allotted time,. I was told to do so online, where I was granted an extention until the following morning. When it became aparent that the second moving crew was not showing I called to extend agin, this time being told that I could have another two days -- "just keep the truck and return it two days later. You'll be charged for the two extra days." Cool, says i. The following. morning the dealer in Geneva called to tell me the vehicle was late, and had been rented, and that my lateness was preventing another person from getting their reservation and completing their job, I felt terrible, but explained that I'd extended he rental. He was very sympathetic and agreed with me that Uhaul was struggling a bit to meet its demands (my words were a bit more, ahem, colorful than those, while he remained professional throughoiut). I told him that I would return the truck ASAP. I then called UHaul 9about the 13th time by now.) to ask what happened and was again told that I could keep the truck until Sunday( (it was now Saturday and I had not yet started a job that I'd scheduled with UHaul two and half weeks earlier, and paid them to have completed Friday evening). being scorched by the anger and disdain of a rather sociopathic landlord (it now being the 31st, a mere few hours form the expiration of my lease, and not a single bo had been moved). I began repackg into smaller boxes my possessions and moving the boxes myself, wirth none of the equipment that I had paid UHaul to include with my truck in the event that I needed to move some things myself to help the movers 9who were not there yet and as far as I knew never coming and I was right!), as I have spinal stenosis, an incredibly painful arthritic condition that causes spasms and sciatica as well as the feeling throughout my back of being laced in a stress position ca. Abu Ghraib... in any event, I managed (finally) to secure local movers who would agree to take a check, since at this point UHaul had placed roughly $1100 on hold in my bank account for $238 rental, they moved my boxes into my new place by 9pm, and I went to bed, preparing to finish the job the next morning and be done with it. As I finished around noon â€" having skpet in, in terrible pain, from having lifted boxes and exerted myself in ways that would likely have caused my doctor to simply shot me himself had he seen it, this being a much more humane way of dealing with the affectvie repercussions of my ecertions than anythimng else, and around 3 pm, as I prepared to return the UHaul vehicle nice and early â€" and well before the 9pm due date â€" I checked the messages on my cell phone to find that I was two days late on my rental and was being accused of having stolen the truck.... Ok, then, I returned the truck to Geneva, and am as of yet not under arrest, and have received roughly 20 percent of the refund I've requested, having been told by UHaul that I needed to receive ti from the dealers and.or movers, (a lie), and I simply request that you as a company use some of your prodigious financial resources to hire a few thousand second grade teachers to educate your staff, their bosses, and their bosses, in things that most second graders know, such as "if you take a reservation for a vehicle and the vehicle is not there to be picked up when this reservation comes due, this does not man that the reservation is fine, but quite the opposite" and also give the guys at H^H or whatever in Geneva a huge raise and take them out to steak dinners with wine or something for being the only good, decent, intelligent, and sympathetic people that exist in relation to the organization at all, and also fuck you.Stephen C.

I am not sure if the vehicle was even looked over before I picked it up. I was covered in dog hair and cigarette ash. Before I could even take it anywhere or load my stuff into it, I had to take it to the car wash to use the big vacuum. I have never had this happen when renting a uhaul and I have rented several.Michelle C.

The owner was very accommodating to us. We originally wanted a 20 foot truck but only a 26 foot was available. When we got to the property there was a 15 foot truck there and he allowed us to change our reservation at the last moment which was better for my husband to drive. The Uhaul mobile app is sadly lacking. Took about 20 minutes to pick up the truck due to the delays of the app. Was not able to return the truck due to the app. I sent about 20 photos of the requested fuel gauge and odometer. Never accepted it. I had to call Uhaul to complete the return.Bryan R.

I ordered a 26 ft truck at victor location. Uhaul had me pick it up in phelps. Got to phelps no truck. They did however have a 20 foot at Geneva. So had to drive there and get a smaller truck. Which means I had to rent a storage unit to put the rest of my things in. I wasted over 10 hours on Monday and Tuesday. Which meant instead of leaving on Wednesday I had to leave on Friday with the truck. In the meantime the victor location had 3 sitting there the whole time. So now I have to go back to NY rent a trailer to retrieve the rest of my belongings. So more money to rent trailer, storage space and 2 nights at a hotel. Told uhaul my drop off in Georgia was to be on rt 19. In dahlonega, Georgia. They gave me different locations for each the truck and the car transport. And neither were rt 19. But that's where I returned them on Sat for car hauler. And Sunday for the truck. And I'm being charged more. So unless uhaul reimburses me I will not use again or recommend uhaul to anybody. I was beyond happy with my rental from H&H Towing in Geneva NY. The gentleman was very very accommodating and assured me that my truck and trailer would be there waiting and ready for me and it was!!! I had gone to a different Uhaul place and they could not guarantee they would have a trailer available even though I reserved it a month in advance.
