I am not even sure where to start. The ENTIRE U-Haul experience was unacceptable from the start. There should be a zero stars option. Our reservation was changed and changed and changed. I have countless texts and over 20 emails just related to the initial reservation of a 10' truck and car trailer. Because of U-Haul's incompetence and the inexperience of these "satellite" locations, we lost 2 days and several hundred dollars in extra costs (hotel, gas etc.). Contacting U-Haul (several times) was not helpful and was so defeating. There was no regard for the customer. I could forgive these smaller locations and their lack of knowledge if U-Haul backed it up with great service and problem solving. This particular location knows absolutely nothing about U-Haul or how anything works. She didn't even know if our truck was a 10 footer or 15 footer. We were there "checking in" for almost an hour. The truck had no gas in it either. There was supposed to be a dolly rented with truck but there was no dolly. We had to go to an additional location to get the dolly. Incidentally, this was the original location I reserved at. So very frustrating. 3 separate locations and 10 hours later and we were trying to get someone qualified to load the car (per U-Haul's instructions). This gentleman, Phil J., seemed to know what he was doing but the car was still scraped underneath while trying to get it on trailer. So now we have to file a claim for that damage. He apologized and stated we would be compensated for the damage and also not be charged for the move. Obviously, he was wrong as those promises were not correct. For a company that ONLY handles truck/trailer rentals and other things associated with moving, I am astonished at how horrible our move was handled and with no regard for our reservation or money paid. We were charged so many different amounts and denied any sort of compensation. All that was offered was "an extra day". We didn't have any extra days to spare. We have jobs and hotel and plane reservations. U-Haul needs to stop associating with these satellite locations. They are not properly trained and have zero resources for assistance to the paying customer. There should be a survey for the other 3 locations we had to drive to. However, Don in Beaver Dam, WI saved the day by finally knowing how to load a car onto the trailer. Although, this was our 4th location and 2 hours out of our way. The trailer mishaps caused us to miss our hotel reservation and set us back 1.5 days. Several phone calls to U-Haul customer service brought zero satisfaction and countless frustrations. Not a good look for a company that states they should be considered "Your moving and storage resource".

Nothing wrong with the facility or staff...they were fine. Trailers should be road checked before rented out. There were issues with the tires, brakes and ratchet tie-downs on the trailer I rented.

She took over an hour to rent one trailer from them! It was absolutely horrible service!!! I will never go there again for u-haul! I asked for no safe tow fee and I she added it sans said there is no way to take it off. Overall will never nerve rent from them again! Don’t rent out trucks if you don’t know what your doing

The only bit of clarification that was needed was what to do when nobody was around. The return instructions had a phone number to call, but I never heard anything back. So I just left the trailer, but had to contact support to ask why it hadn't been returned the day later. Not a bad experience, just not 100% clear.
