The whole experience was a nightmare. Right from the booking to the pick up to the drop off. The ignorant employees who are rude and unwilling to help. Being told different things by numerous people. Having to wait to pick up the truck because the manager wasn’t in and wouldn’t be there for an hour or two and not knowing anything about the process of picking up rentals. I will never use U-Haul for anything ever again

First, instructions to pick up truck were initially unclear. Online check in asked me to open back of truck with combination lock but there was no lock. Then I went inside the Esso gas station at the recommendation of the UHaul agent on the phone, and the attendant named Ravi pretended like he had no idea what I was talking about in regards to the UHaul truck at the back. I was even in the phone with uhaul customer service while talking to the attendant and he just ignored me. After 1 hr 15 mins on the phone with uhaul I went back to the attendant and all of a sudden he knew about the uhaul truck in the back but was refusing to give me the key despite me showing him my reservation saying he had no access to the system. Eventually a pleasant Uhaul manager named Sam arrived to get the key from the attendant. But all in all it took almost 2 hours to get my truck in a confusing and stressful time. AVOID Esso at Southdale. You will not get your truck on time.

This location is not able to hand delivery the keys to you. They have an expectation that you always do mobile pickup. None of the staff knows how to set up uhaul other than the boss of this store. I came to the store 4 times to return the truck. The mobile pickup delayed my move by over an hour. I wasn't able to enter my mileage or see the initial gas of the truck or take pictures during the mobile pickup. The truck was dirty, with tissues in the cup holders, the truck was dirty in the back, and we had to sweep it to be cleaned, and there was no appliance dolly available. I had to go to a different uhaul location for that person to have a supervisor return my truck. I don't think this location should be an authorized dealer if they don't train other staff to handle uhaul pickups/dropoffs.

I will never use Uhaul again. I booked the truck about one month a head of time. They changed the pick up location several times, and timing for pick up the truck several times. It cause me a lot of stress , and increased my labor cost. Because truck pick up time was changed in last day, I changed the timing for labors and elevator. I booked the truck for 8:00 am , I got truck at 1:00 pm, and I finished my unloading at 1:00 a.m the day after. When I called uhaul the customer service was awful. I won't take truck from Uhaaul again.

The man that handles the rentals is very hard to contact. He did not do a walk around with me or show me anything. Did not show me truck because it was raining out. Made me go out and find it myself without knowing where thenumbers were that matched key tag. I got soaked looking for the right truck. Not impressed.

Drop off is pretty straight forward with truckshare, but there is no key dropbox here. Hand key to the attendant in the convenience store. We found that making changes to the drop off location was difficult online and the wait on the 1 800 # is very long. We drove quite a bit out of the way and passed other uhaul locations to drop off since we were not familiar with the area. Truckshare service overall is a smooth, user friendly experience. Customer service line needs more support.

I did a mobile pick-up registration; I still had to wait around 10 minutes at the store for keys. Maybe having a U-haul key locker and a passcode to be sent to the customer when he arrived for pick will be much more convenient.

I did not enjoy the mobile check-in experience at all. The need to chat, and the refreshing once I arrived at the location for GPS to catch-up, ended up taking longer than if I just spoke with the man in the store.

Received wrong truck, couldnt check it out or back in becaise mileage didnt match then realized lic # was different. Was charged almost double at thia point, still waiting for a manager to call to resolve all this. Will always go to main office from now on, or choose another method

Not much to review, dropped the truck off, followed the check in on uhaul.com. Gave the personnel in the Esso Station the truck key, and they were polite. Whole experience went really well.

The mobile check in and drop off was terrible and didn't work at all. Thankfully the location staff was helpful and assisted me with the drop-off and the local u-haul line was still open when I was picking the vehicle up. Please ensure that the app is fixed because as it currently is, it is not workable. Thank you!

They overestimated how much mileage I used and claimed I didn't put enough gas in the truck which was false. I disputed the charges with a customer sales representative at uhaul and they reimbursed me without any issues. Thank you, I would recommend uhaul to anyone due to quick resolution to my concern!

Should have had the furniture pads and furniture dolly already in truck. Also I went through the prepay process and yet had to pay extra at pickup. What is the purpose of prepay if you are not really paying everything?

The clerk did not register that I had returned the vehicle and I got several phone calls to try to confirm I had in fact returned the vehicle on time and it was finally cleared up by a very friendly clerk. She even took time to call me on a Sunday to verify the transaction would be completed at opening on Monday morning. She was very friendly, seemed efficient and reassuring that I would not be charged late fees as I had in fact returned the vehicle early!! The staff at that location just need to be better trained.

The 20' uhaul we rented was all dirty in the back not swept out. And when we arrived at our destination to unload when we took out the last item a $2000 new king size mattress we found that the back corner was in a pool of water which is extremely disappointing. As we made sure everything was locked up tight during bad weather. And all the stuff in front of it was dry it was just the corner that had a pool of water.

When I dropped off the uhaul and 2 dollys was told by the attendant that I would have to come back later if I wanted any sort of receipt. Apparently the "uhaul guy" as Navi the attendant put it was on break. As I drove in from out of town it was not realistic for me to go back after. Being told I could return it anytime and checking online to see hours until 5am, I should be able to return it with confidence mid afternoon.

The rep did not want to take the drop off. I stated that i had 4 locations to choose from and chose his and i wasn't about to drive all over the city to drop it off. He took it. U Hall should let the location know to expect the drop off.

The person in the store was too busy selling gas, lotto, and cigarettes. The attendant told me to check the km on the truck before I left. My contract said there was 3082.7km when in reality there was 3292.8km. The gas gage was also less than as per the contract. The attendant initialed it and told me it was "fine". When I went to drop the truck off they refused to give me my deposit and when I called this location they hung up on me because they were too busy and didn't know how to work the system to do a reversal. I had to them make a second trip back to the drop off location to have this sorted out.

When we went to pick up the van we booked for at 10am the van was driving off as we were pulling in. When we asked the clerk where the van went he told us his brother took the van and would be back in 5 minutes. We went in at 10:20am to ask why he was not back yet and he said he could be longer because he was taking it for a "test drive". We waited until 10:35am for the van to come back, and when we did talk to the guy who had taken the van to finish the paperwork he said "They don't book before 11am." I showed him my confirmation email which said 10am, he blamed Uhaul for booking us at that time and location. And then he blamed the time change, which would make no difference, it really would be another hour late. Because of all this we missed half of our elevator time from 10:30am-11:00am. When we went to return the van the store clerk said he could not finish our transaction as his brother who handles the uhaul business was not there. I wanted to make sure you were aware of this incident so that no future uhaul customers (myself included) have to deal with situations like this. We went to pick up our Truck for the requested time, 8AM.Tthe guy working there said he couldn't do it because the computer for it is locked in an office and only his boss did it. And the boss wouldn't be in until around 10AM. So I call u-Haul waited on hold for a second person for close to half an hour to try and get the mess sorted out. The closest alternative truck was all the way across the city and would have cost a fortune in gas and mileage charges, they were trying their best to fix it. Said they would credit the Credit card $50.00 to cover the cost....still not sure if they did or not for the inconvenience part.. She spoke to the guy in the store to try and have it sorted out. The gas station attendant was finally able to get his boss on the phone and down to the store. Since we had waited over an hour we decided to give it another 10mins to see if he'd show up before driving across town. He did and gave us the old blame game pass the buck, and didn't accept responsibilities for the failures of his business proceedings. Finally we get the truck shortly after 9:30AM (We were supposed to have at 8AM) So behind scheduled and in a hurry I left.....My bad the mileage was way off, 50 miles off!!!!!!!!! And the Gas gauge wasn't clocked correctly either. So I stressed all day that I was going to get charged for this. The guy renting the truck didn't even come out to do a walk around or check things with me. So when I get back to drop it off I told the guy we have a major issue with the reported mileage. He said I would not be charged for it.........Time will tell.....nothing else went right. But then this store clerk was able to take the truck in with a lap top at the gas station counter. The other store clerk for the morning said the only UHaul comperter was in the locked office......so confused..... thought they didn't have a computer at the front and the only one was locked in the office as was the reason the guys from the morning couldn't dispatch the truck...... Even more infuriated by this.. Still having to wait and see if I get charged for mileage I never put on. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi mine name is Michael Nowicki. I was very uncomfortable and your guarantee was not met among a host of other issues and problems. I ordered a 15' truck online with reservation #23420993. The day before I called to confirm my order and there was no 15' truck available and the person said they would upgrade me to a 26' for free and that it would be available for me at 830am the next day August 6, 2015. I also received a email from you that says: "We have a 26' Moving Van and Utility Dolly reserved for you and guaranteed tomorrow 8/6/2015 at 8:30 AM". When I arrived at the store at between 800-830 the representative told me he was unable to get me the truck as the boss was not there until 10am. I left and came back at 10am and the person did not have the 26' foot truck available and told me there is a 15' truck, to my confusion as you told me there was not a 15' truck available the day before. When I called up your Uhaul center the person names Catherine on the phone was not polite, very defensive, did not listen to my questions, interrupted me and made me have a anxiety attack for which I have to take medication for. She then told me that the boss of the store would not rent me the truck even at the same time the boss told me he was getting the truck ready for me and would rent it for me, that is also very confusing. I asked Catherine that I wanted to submit for the $50 guarantee and she met me with hostility and told me she did not know if I would get it or not. I didn't want to know if I would get it or not, only that I wanted to apply for it as your guarantee states is that if the time is not met the customer shall receive $50. I want to let you know that I was upset and felt like I was lied to and your employee Catherine was very condescending to me. she should know that people are already in a stressful environment when trying to move and she in know way helped provide any comfort or empathy. I hope whoever is reading this has moved before and knows what is like to pick up and move to another city. Also there was cigarette garbage in the front of the cab and the rear had garbage, left over items and clutter from whoever used it last. You have wasted my time and I want to know what you will do in this situation. Thank you for your time.
