I was given an almost empty Uhaul by this location, and they attempted to charge me additional miles for the trip. When I received the truck, it was at 61177.5, and when I returned it, it was at 61192.7, meaning I only traveled about 15.2 miles. My bank tried to charge me an extra 77 dollars for an extra 65 kilometers, according to a notification I received. Fortunately, I took pictures of everything when I hired the truck and returned it. This morning, I am going to call the corporate number to inform them of the attempted theft.

ROBERT DRaye was who helped me primarily but she & everyone else was great! She knows what she is doing and it shows. She was very helpful and turned something I was dreading into a pleasant experience.
KATHERINE EI reserved a U-haul truck two weeks prior than 6/30/2024 (Sunday, which is the date I needed it), but when I arrived, it was closed without any notification so I've never got a U-haul truck I needed. I wasted a lot of time searching for alternative solution, trying to see if it's a self-check-in, and eventually had to go for truck-rental from Homedepot. Few days later I made a call and asked for refund, which successed and got $160 back, but three months later I received a charge for $7000 because your system indicates me that I didn't return the truck back which is ridiculous because I've never got a truck from you. Please withdraw the charge since Ii've never used your truck and even got a refund from you already.

BRETT SThey charge me higher than what was expected because of local fees…i should not have to pay more because they lease and don't own their vans. You need to have more straight forward pricing online. Also, the mileage was incorrect when i checked out the car and I'm assuming they want to scam people. The van wasn't cleaned well. These owners are cheap money suckers who hopefully manage their sock drawer better than this business.
MICHAEL EThe employees are nice enough and I've rented from them before, but on this occasion, they recorded the wrong miles in and out. It was just a two-mile overage (I drove 18 miles but they wrote down 20), but the van I rented had over 31,600 miles on it, and their receipt showed only ~27,160 miles (luckily, I took pictures of the odometer). Additionally, they forced me to pay the $15 Safe Move Coverage, even though it was optional before. The final straw of this bad review was the gas recording. They charged me for four gallons of gas. I drove 18 miles; according to the Uhaul website, this 9-ft van gets 18 miles per gallon. The gas pointer did not move (I have the before and after pictures of the fuel gauge too).

GARY TOffice and rental vehicle parking are on different sites, which was a confusing setup. Very friendly and efficient staff though.
CRAIG SEverything uhaul was great. The individuals running this distribution location are not friendly nor competent at operating this facility. I'd rather go into debt for a personal trailer than use them again.

Mehmet AImpossible to figure out which of the 5 or 6 U-Haul lots I was supposed to use to park truck. Terrible signage for finding the office. Once I found it, however, the staff were friendly and helpful.
MALIA LI rented a truck and car trailer to drive from Washington state to Virginia. The set up and travel was great! When we returned it to the Christiansburg location, the return was a mess! The manager and another employee were using the managers car to push the trailer in place, hitting the back of the trailer. When the other employee was parking the truck he hit the trailer in front of him. When we confronted them about it, they argued with us saying that's how they did it. Almost hit the side of my car when driving another truck to park. 100% DO NOT recommend this location for return. They need to have their contract with Uhaul revoked.

EDWARD WThe lady working there was rude and slow moving. I had schedules to pick up a 9ft Cargo Van via 24/7 Truckshare (mobile pickup) but when I arrived at the location, the keys to the van were not available. This is not caused by lack of the van though, as I could see it in the lot across the street. I had to delay my move by 2 hours until they open, and the woman inside insisted that I had ordered a pickup truck, though I had ordered a 9ft Cargo Van. She also tried to say that the van was not there at my pickup time, even though I had personally saw it when I arrived earlier at 7. When I picked up the van at 9am (2 hours later) the van was dirty and dusty-- like it had not been cleaned after the last customer. I am very disappointed in the service I received.
DAVID ARay was super busy and I was impressed with her ability to multitask and get everyone taken care of so efficiently!
LISA LThe two women working there are rude and unprofessional. The two gentlemen were courteous and helpful. Granted it is just a rental company, but the customers they clearly have no regard for are paying customers. The women complained non-stop, audibly, while we stood there in front of them, about us, about other customers as they came and went, about their hours, "we shouldn't even be here, turn that damn sign around we're closed..." Pretty unpleasant people. Truck ran great though.
TIMOTHY JDrop off was fairly easy. Dirt parking lot was a little sloped so it made managing the trailer a little difficult when putting it away.

CHRIS PHad a problem with location at pickup. Day before it was switched. Day of drop off there was no one to help unload trailer off my truck in the yard.
STEVEN SI was charged much higher than I was quoted when I did the self check in, the lot I was told to leave it was slammed so had to take it up the hill,there is a dangerous parking lot that in the picking up and dropping off 2 vehicles fell into a huge drop off and there is no cautious sign out front my equipment I ordered off the move only one was available , the time I was told I could get the truck was delayed and no one even told me about it , just a terrible experience all the way around , it’s not the employees fault at that location they worked their heads off and are understaffed they were pleasant it’s UHAILS fault
GRACE MThe only problem we had was that the original place they told us to drop off to ended their uhaul contract last month, so we had to find another uhaul drop off location. So, making sure uhaul has the most up to date computer registry would be recommended. Everything else was absolutely perfect! 100% recommend!

Lakayla SHonor the reservation where it was originally made. I had to drive almost 30 minutes from my reservation location to pick up the truck. Do better, if you don't have the equipment don't allow people to make the reservation unless you can figure out how to honor it.

JAMES WLocal truck rental (4hrs) + insurance. Staff was friendly. This is a busy time of year for them because two local universities with move ins. The only problem I have is with the amount paid vs the quote given. It was almost double. Not mileage related because I only went 40 miles.
DIETA LWhile the staff were wonderful, the resources were poor. The truck we had booked several days prior was not available. That size was what was needed for the picking up of our family heirlooms and could only be done that day per auction rules. The dolly we had requested and needed for furniture was also not there.
CHAD JThe Man at the pick up location was unable to locate the drop off location in the system so there was t a way to use the app for drop off info. When we got there, there was no clear way to drop off a trailer because we did not have keys to put in a dropbox. After spending over 30 minutes on the phone, trying to figure out what to do, we were hopeful that it was in the right place as there was no way to determine and no one to really help.
jeffery mI used the 24/7 Pick-up which was an absolute mistake. There were no instructions prior to picking up the car other than that "you will need your phone". 1) the app is terrible - it kept crashing. 2) I had to have 2 people verify by phone that I was who I said I was?? Seems so unnecessary, and it didn't state why they needed their information or what they would do with it. I put my work because I thought they just wanted to check records later. But they needed to call someone immediately. Since my work was closed, this caused a huge problem. Once I finally got through to renting a car, it had been 60 minutes and my reservation window had closed, so I couldn't rent. I had to call customer service which took another 30 minutes, and then I was finally able to pick up the car. BUT you have to use the app to verify/take photos, and it kept crashing!! When I went to return the vehicle, I returned it while they were open, but you still have to use the app to add photos and verify everything, but the app drained my phone battery and kept crashing!! Luckily I was able to get some help from the people that worked there. But I DO NOT recommend using the 24/7 service. Pay more to pick it up while their office is open.
Eileen HOne of the worst experiences ever! I am also reporting this on google reviews! I was charged an extra 100 miles (129$ in total) because the U-Haul dealer misplaced the keys of truck when I submitted it. Even after submitting the complaint I am not being refunded! Zero customer satisfaction.
SWANAND SThe driveway was hard to drive a U-Haul in, and only to find out we had to drop it off across the street and walk back. The place was closed when we dropped it off (at 5pm, which is weird hours to be closed). There were other people there confused as well because they needed to pick up a U-Haul but couldn't since they were closed. Also, followed all the signs on how to leave our U-Haul only to be charged more for not checking in

Scott CStaff were friendly and personable. Cargo van was clean and in good shape. This location largely serves the students and families of VA Tech, and they make it easy for short term and longer term rentals to get kids moved in and out!
Kimberley CThis location has an office which is located across the street from the return lot. I would have appreciated better instructions to help me avoid following Google maps to the wrong location.

Lolita LThe usual we rented have major shifting issue the engine would run about 3k rpm’s the whole time traveling the shifter had a lot of play in it also and the doors would not seal properly the lock for the rear door would not unlock at all I called this location multiple times trying to get someone out to help with the lock but got no response to the point I cut the lock this was a terrible experience

Daryll PI needed to return moving boxes to your company. That involved paying $250 to a moving company to bring the boxes to a not so near UHaul.(45 minutes away.) Could you make it so that a local UHaul can take surplus unused boxes?
Ruth GMy designated 10' truck was parked where I could have backed it out of the tight spot that a van and another truck limited the space. I asked Fred in Blacksburg for help, for I didn't feel comfortable taking a risk damaging the truck or other vehicles blocking my exit. Fred was kind and helpful and moved the truck. Hitting the road after midnight, I discovered the truck had only one headlight (driver's side) highbeams were an urgent and essential insurance for me and being redirected from 81 due to closure of all lanes to 11 then Skyline Drive with rain, fog and deer discovering subpar windshield wipers made my commute hazardous slower more stressful than necessary to Dagsboro, DE.
