Everything worked out well except that I tried to use the mobile reservation system which did not work. But luckily the office was open so we did all the paperwork manually for check out. Returning was a breeze. Drop off truck, put keys in box - done.

As you know, things come up at the last minute when moving. The elderly man at the counter seemed irritated and inconvenienced that we had to change our reservation a few times. He then thought my dad was going to leave his truck parked at his office, and then charged us $20 for a cleaning fee, after we cleaned the truck ourselves. I think it's time for this old bat to retire. Visit another location, I do not recommend.

The U-Haul app is terrible. I spent 40 minutes trying to return the equipment and it refused to accept a photo of the odometer. Literally tried 30 times. Then I called customer service and was on hold for 40 minutes before it allowed me to enter a callback number. I opted for the call back, eta 44 minutes. I finally get a call back from U-Haul customer service an hour later, press 1 to accept the call. It says, "You are caller #1 in the queue" then hangs up on me. I ended up just dropping the keys in the lockbox and walking away. Terrible experience, I will tell everyone I know to avoid using your app and that your customer service is terrible.

When we opened the cargo hold, the furniture pad blankets were already used, and when we checked in, there was no place that asked that question or allowed us to comment on the status of the furniture pads. Not sure if that's a big deal, but when we closed out, we were asked if we "used" the pads. They were used before we rented the truck. I think there's an inconsistency in the check-in/check-out process regarding the status of the furniture pads. Perhaps, I missed the question on the check-in process.

Not the friendliest service. Kind of grumpy/snarky men that seem unhappy in life. Truck was not cleaned. Spilled liquid in cupholders and down the sides of the center piece. Dirt not swept from stair up into truck.. whatever. We returned it cloroxed and swept well!

On sept 13, 2021 we rented from Danes Auto Service at 811 Pacific Blvd SE, Albany, Oregon. The owner Dane rented to us with no problem at 10am, when we attempted to drop off the Uhaul at 4:05 pm the same day when we were verbally assaulted by Dane he directed it to my husband and cursed him out saying “to put the fucken keys in the drop box, I'm the owner and can close whenever the fuck I want, if you try anything you will regret it, put the fucken keys in the drop box and get the fuck out of here”. I cannot explain how unprofessional it is to close a business nearly an hour before it is said to close, and verbally assault a client that is only seeking a receipt for our business. I will never rent from this uhaul distributor again and have read and heard countless stories of this man who walks around with a leash less pit bull at his property and carries a business like this.

Wash the truck. The windshield and mirrors were so dirty I couldn't see. The guy working in the office, Dane, the owner, was extremely rude. I assumed the gas tank was full cause the needle was on the edge of the full mark. When i filled it up however the needle goes much further past that mark. Basically i got ripped off $25 in gas. Nice scam you guys got goin on there.

Agent said I needed to put additional gas into the tank because the previous customer failed to fill the tank. He said for me to avoid a $5 per gallon charge I needed to return the truck with at least 1/4 tank even though at the time of renting it was at 1/16 of a tank. He offered a $28 credit (my 2-hour rent charge) if I put enough gas in but he kept saying “to avoid the additional fuel charge”. Why would I get a fuel charge if the contract says to return the truck at the same fuel level as when rented? I put extra gas in the truck ($40.00) so the next renter has just over 1/2 tank to start. The truck smelled of cigarettes from the previous renter. Last week when I rented the same truck it was full of fuel, clean inside and out, and didn't smell of cigarettes. This time it had 1/16 fuel, dirty windshield, lots of dead bugs and smelled.

I rented a covered trailer and my money was well spent. I initially didn't know what Uhaul rental I needed, but I got the advice I needed, although at times the advice given was 'business-like' in tone rather than 'friendly'. On arriving to pick up the reserved vehicle, I was assisted promptly and efficiently. The same was true when I returned. I would use the service again.

I got a truck for$143 and some change somehow they took $210 off my card and put me in the negative so I'm out here at 230 in the morning trying to find somewhere to put money on my card because at 3 a.m. there going to charge me overdraft fees that I can't afford not very kool the drop off store was great but the pickup store not so much

I called while on the road to ask if we could drop the car tow trailer off on the way into town before unloading the truck. I got voice mail, and said to my daughter who was in the truck with me that, "I doubt that I will hear back from them." Five minutes later I got a call back from the Dane's Auto representative. He was very helpful. He informed me that it was fine to drop off the trailer on the way into town and after hours. He was also very helpful when I dropped the truck off three days later.

Dane was extremely rude. My pickup was @ 10am I waited in the office for about 10 minutes and the went next door to his Auto repair business and the mechanics told me he was out in the lot somewhere and so I went out there to find him and I didn't see him so I went back into the office waited probably another 10 minutes so I went out and looked through all of the vehicles out there and found him and I said hello and he didn't say anything so I knocked on the window of the U-Haul truck he was in, he yelled I heard you I can't help you while I'm doing this I'll be with you when I'm done!! When he came to the office his attitude was the same. He was very rude and and disrespectful to me as a customer! He yelled at me again and was that way through the whole process of signing the contract until I left. If I didn't need the U-Haul to move my granddaughter I would have left that moment!! I would have said something to him but I needed the U-Haul and was afraid that he wouldn't rent it to me. I DO NOT recommend this location for U-Haul pickup!! I will never ever go there again! The U-Haul was filthy I couldn't see through the windshield it was covered with bugs and looked like it hadn't been washed in quite a while!! I rate this business a zero! He has a auto repair for shop next door if he treats his U-Haul customers this way I can't imagine how he treats his customers that come in to have their vehicle repaired!

Web site is not clear when changing a location because a particular vehicle is not at your choice of pickup locations. Should have a red flag stating the vehicle you have chosen is NOT available at your choice of location. Do you want to change your location to XXX which has the vehicle you want? Very frustrating to go where I thought I made the reservation but find out the web presence signed me up for a pickup 25 min away. Dean however offered me a different vehicle and had me on my way in no time!! I have rented from Dean before and will again!!

When we were sitting down to pay for our rental, we asked the man at the front desk "how much would it be to rent the U-haul round trip vs. one way?" and he BIT OUR HEADS OFF. Very rude, embarrassing in front of other customers, and poor customer service. You do not want to cross paths with this guy. He bent over backwards when we dropped it off the next day to be nice, but too little, too late, damage was done. Never renting from this location ever again. You've been warned.
