I was switched to this location the afternoon before my pickup day. I was not informed this would be a self pickup or that I needed to do a check-in on the app to get the keys. I was only given an address and told I needed to go there. The key box was on a fence in front of the building and the uhaul was parked almost a block away in an open lot. There is no parking at this location if the auto shop is closed because they gate the entrance. Once I contacted customer service and was told I needed to use the app and do a self pickup, the app could not verify my location and then would not scan my license. The customer service rep on the phone had to do all that manually. Once I was finally able to get the code and retrieve the key, it went off like a normal uhaul pickup and all was fine. Maybe the experience would have been better if I was informed of the fact there would not be someone there to assist me or that I needed to use the app. Or maybe if the business was open and someone could have just informed me that way. My original reservation was at a uhaul store.

1. They could get someone to work Saturday at least for a couple of hours 2. The reason a person should be available either on location or on call is because the app wasn't working and customer service had us off and on hold for 2 hours. A 10:00 pick up became a 12:00 pick up. I lost 2 hours of time to pack up. You can't get the keys out of the lockbox without working app. Customer Service couldn't email the info. 3. Got a call on Friday to alert me that the tire pressure light might come on, but to ignore it and everything was fine. No one told me that the speedometer was broken. I couldn't tell how fast I was going without a GPS app or some quick math because 120 mph on the speedometer was about 55/60. This caused great anxiety because how could I trust if any of the other gages worked. We tried calling around for another rental since this one was poor quality and none others were available. I had to use this truck. Check back in process was fine. I won't be using this facility again or U-Haul if I can avoid it.

Blankets were not available. It was said that the homeless had stolen them. We think the homeless may have used the truck to sleep in as someone had defected inside. My men had to clean up the spot and tried to get rid of awful smell. Also the original spot I was promised a truck was in Moneta, Virginia. It ended up we had to pick up truck in Roanoke thus adding mileage to the trip which we had to pay. We are requesting a refund on extra mileage as we were promised a pick up for truck in Moneta and not in Roanoke. We were also promised extra miles. None of that happened. Empty promises.

Closed and locked at 4:00 pm on a Friday. No one to assist drop off. I left a phone voice mail message with my information and dropped trailer in parking lot with other trailers. I literally had the small hitch trailer for under 24 hours for one small load going one way. THEY FRAUDULENTLY BILLED MY DEBT CARD FOR AN EXTRA 7 DAYS! Uhaul refunded me. This location should not have the privilege of representing Uhaul.

Forced to use the app for the rental as U-Haul couldn't provide the truck I rented at any location near me. I did have an agent try to offer me a larger truck, but insisted I pay the higher price - after assuring me that the truck I wanted at the price listed would be available. At the rental location I was sent to, there is next to no cell phone coverage in the area, and no Wi-Fi at all - though the key box claims that there is free Wi-Fi available. The app continuously reset after I tried repeatedly to upload the 6-8 pictures needed to pick up or return the truck. I spent an easy one hour and 30 minutes first just trying to get the key to leave on pickup, and then return the truck at the end of the period. An absolutely miserable experience that I wish on no one else. I don't rent a lot of trucks, but I can promise I will be looking for alternatives rather than EVER going through that experience again.

Cab smelled like smoke. Although this was not the vehicle that I originally was supposed to get. Only thing I would change is that I dropped off my truck on Monday 3pm when my truck wasn't due back until Wed. I didnt notice until later that evening that this company never checked my truck in when I dropped if off. I went on app and selected 7pm bc that was my only option at that time.

The tank was supposed to be full, but it was down 1/8 of a tank. I was already on the road when I looked at it, so I just accepted that I would have to give uhaul that extra gas. I will be checking more closely in the future. Also, not the fault of the site, but uhaul had agreed to provide a truck in Rocky Mount, VA, but called me early the same morning of pick up day to say that we had to go to Roanoke, VA to get our truck. We had to scramble with my husband's work schedule to go that far to get the truck. It was frustrating to say the least.

The location wasn't exactly clean because it was an automobile garage/shop. One would not expect it to be clean, but one would also not expect to rent a UHAUL from such a place. It was a little unclear where one should go to conduct UHAUL business. Once someone was found, he was helpful in taking care of me.

The overall experience with UHaul was unsatisfactory. We had 3 different locations we were told to pick up the vehicle. If we had not called UHaul on 7/1, we would still be waiting for a truck. Fortunately, a customer representative located a truck and held the reservation on 7/1. Custom Truck Bodies did not know we had a reservation when we arrived, and they later found the reservation and truck. Not a confidence inspiring experience from UHaul.
