What a rip off. First i got charged $115 immediately even though i was told i wouldnt be charged anything until after i returned the truck due to mileage being a factor. Then since i only drove 19 miles my total ended up being barely $50. Yet i still have the charge for $115 on my card and the reciept i was sent only says i paid $100 and got a refund of $43 even though ive got no such refund. And where did MY extra $15 go ? This is EXTREMELY ridiculous.Haeden E.

Mr. Fleming went out of his way to help me when his dealership was closed. He went the "extra mile" to help me when I needed a trailer to move my mother-in-law's household goods from an assisted living facility to storage after she broke her hip. This was a very stressful and emotional time. Mr Fleming took time to make a friend as well as rent a trailer. I appreciate U-Haul having such a fine human being to represent the company. The dealer cheated my husband out of $30. I made the reservation over the phone from Florida. When my husband picked up th smelly, dirty cargo trailer the owner charged my husband an extra $30 for the â€œinsurance I requestedâ€ which is a lie. I would never use this dealer again!Niel T.

Initial reservation was not honored by rental place. Preferential treatment was given to a customer who signed up to rent storage space at the same location they rent U-hauls. That particular situation was a obvious conflict of interest and was very managed poorly... Second rental place was very well organized gentleman who help take the sting out of being behind schedule to start the day out.Shelby D.

This location was WONDERFUL my over all experience with UHaul was NOT so wonderful! I was not informed my truck was not in and I drove to pick it up then was told to go to another location which didn't have ANY trucks! to then be sent another 15 miles further to pick up a truck! Yes I got a small credit but had to drive extra miles and very frustrating over all! IN NO way does my comments go to the location I did get my truck from but overall my experience with Uhaul was NOT good! I think I should have gotten a little more compensation for the extra work I had to do to rent a truck! The customer service at this site was A++++++Tabitha M.

The man on the phone was extremely rude, then It took the person behind the counter almost an hour to get us out truck. We were charged for moving pads which we never received and the drop off location was wrong. Do yourself a favor and use a different location.RYAN F.
depends on what you have. i had a 26ft truck with a car hauler. there was no room to put it. couldn't see or get out. now fuel station to fill up. i had to leave, go find gas, and then really work at getting it in the lot. however, the drop off people were helpful, it was not hard to find.robert R.

Go over different options of insurance I got charged for a insurance that I was not told about or offered they just added it to my contract Didn't realize cause I was in a hurry Got home reviewed it cause I saw How much it wastimothy B.
Trailer was at a different location, staff had no Idea I was coming until I got there then they saw the reservation. No help hooking it up or dropping it off. During transit the door opened exposing my furniture to the elements. The latch and everything was still in the lock position. Worst service I have ever gotten from uhaulShawn D.

The location was to far. Uhal gave me the run around. Makes no sense to reserve a truck at one location, if it's not going to be available. But the people were very nice at the Lugoff location. And very helpful.Nicole M.

Lugoff location was excellent. 8400 two notch n customer service was the all times worst experience I've ever got. 8400 general manager told me he didn't have nothing for me and I didn't call so he didn't care and didn't have nothing for me. Customer service told me they reserve another for me in blythwood and I drove 30mins there for the young to tell me she had none and that uhaul will call me I waited and no one called so she told me to call and then they sent me to lugoff. Customer service told me I will get extra miles because I had to drive so far away and they didn't put it in the system.Chandira W.
Not call me at 9:30 at night less than 12 hours from when I am supposed to pick up the trailer I reserved. Also from a location that is not where I requested. If you are going to call me at 9:30 you better be able to answer your phone at 9:35 when I call back. This is completely unacceptable on all accounts. I am on a timeline that I have to clear my apartment and get on the road. Even the time that I am being told the trailer will be available is ridiculous! If I say I need a trailer on the 30th of July it better be available at the time the location opens; not at 2 p.m. Who moves at 2 p.m.????Michael D.
I reserved a truck at a different location and they said they did not have any trucks for me. I'm not sure why you even have a reservation system if you can not guarantee a truck. We had to drive to a different town to get our truck. With the time and money I sent for this truck I will not use or recommend Uhaul to anyone.Len H.

This location was a little country store. I wasn't asked about if I wanted insurance on my truck it was placed without my permission. But overall the older gentleman that ran the store was very patient and nice.Chelsea S.

My experience was horrible. I did not get a call to allow me to schedule my time or to confirm my location. I went to the office location that I selected on Topnotch Rd. I call the location after making the reservation online to confirm the time. When the gentleman answer the phone I explained that I want to pick up the trailer at 9 am. He found my location and told me it would not be a problem and I would receive a call. Needless to say that I did not receive a call. On the 5th of July upon arriving at the location on Topnotch I was informed that my reservation was not at that office. I explain to the clerk that I made the reservation for this location. He proceeded to tell me that I did not. The clerk went and got another man to assist. This gentleman state that the system would relocate to another location if the equipment was not at the requested location. He continue to say that I should have gotten a call which I did not. The clerk said told me of the new location and that the pick up time was schedule for 12 pm. Seeing that I am not from this area and being call a liar about the location, the conformation call to the location and time, needless to say that I was quite upset. I have to go to another location that I have to clue of where it is located and at a different time. When I arrived at the new location the elderly gentlemen really made a bad situation into an ok one. The elderly gentleman had some difficulties with his computer. He stated that his desktop crash and he just got the laptop connected. Due to the smaller screen the gentleman had some difficulties and asked me to type in the information. Which I did. After all information was submitted there was an issue with the program not taking off the deposit due to a credit card being used. The gentleman call someone else who complete the transaction. A receipt was emailed to me. The elderly gentleman was very helpful. He assisted in placing the trailer on the truck. If it was not for the elderly gentleman making a extremely bad situation into a better situation I do not believe that I would have ever considered renting from the company. This whole situation was unsatisfactory. Upon arrival in Portsmouth, VA I was not able to check in the trailer on the online system which brought the situation back to bad. The next morning 7/6/15 the churchland location was very helpful and emailed me my receipt. This whole situation with your system was completely UNSATISFACTORY! !!!!!Torrie L.

Unfortunately the truck wasn't full of gas but I'm sure it was an oversight. The clerk was very nice and extremely helpful. If we ever have need of another u haul and we're going that way we'll definitely have to use that location.Brian J.

The staging area for trailers at this location is very small. I was able to maneuver out of the lot with no incident, but with the lot not used solely for U-Haul equipment, it would be good for there to be just an area large enough to move around without interfering with other traffic.charles L.

We have used U-Haul several times in the past with relatively no issues, but this last time was a nightmare. We did not get the size truck we ordered, no one called us to confirm the location, the pickup time we were given was incorrect, and overall it was just a fiasco. Your reservations department seriously dropped the ball on this reservation and in the Columbia, SC area in general.Jamie V.

stop running customers around from one place to another to pick up rentals I was given a pick-up location at 1555 mason rd that was not open. I called U-Haul and informed them of such and was put on 3-way with the individual that stated that I could come and pick up the rental, only to be sent 35 miles away to get what I needed.william R.

Very friendly at the location. Uhaul truck smelled of smoke and had cigarette ash throughout the cabin. When hooking my car to the tow, had difficulty strapping it in, did a job that was "good enough" however, strap fell off shortly after my cross country journey. Had to spend time calling for help, for which I was told I would be billed. Should have been done right with long enough straps in the first place.ERIN R.
