My initial pickup location was Coralville, IA. The day before my move, U-Haul called me to inform me that my truck was no longer available and the only other available truck was in Sigourney, IA. The representative told me that it was 35 miles away. Actually it ended up being 60 miles away! This was a major inconvenience and added expense in both time and money. As a regular U-Haul customer, I found this unacceptable. I did attempt to discuss the problem with management at the Coralville location and was basically told I was out of luck since the computer said that I was the one who requested the change in pickup location???? Not true! Why would I request a pickup location change to a town 60 miles away? He said that he did have a truck available but could no longer accommodate the change. Unacceptable. I request a full refund for this major inconvenience which set my move back almost an entire day.

This location was 52 miles from my preferred location. I reserved a truck from a location less than a mile from my home, but was called the day before the move and was informed that the Coralville IA location did not have a truck that I reserved and that one was available 38 miles away, which was incorrect as it was actually 52 miles away. She did not seem to care that this was a ridiculous inconvenience and that I would have to travel 104 miles round trip to get this truck. The woman that I spoke with about this was not pleasant and seemed dismissive and didn't seem to care that being notified the day before a planned move was an issue. The lady said that she called the day before, but I did not receive a call and did not have a voicemail. She seemed insulted by this statement and said this she did call, indicating that it was my fault for not answering a call that I did not actually receive. Her supervisor helped somewhat, but a $25 fee reduction and extra miles to account for the 52 mile trip to my home was insulting as this trip added two hours of drive time on the day of the move and 104 miles of mileage onto my personal vehicle, plus gas for both vehicles. When we called this location to confirm that there was a truck, we were informed that our pick-up day was moved to Sunday, not Saturday. So we had to contact Uhaul to make this change back to the original day/date that matched my reservation that I received via email. I am not sure who made this change, but my suspicion is that one of the employees I spoke with did so, as I was not happy and they did not like my questioning them. When we arrived in Sigourney to pick up the vehicle, the location was closed and the 24/7 Share did not work and the app informed me that I would need to "visit the counter", but the business was closed. So, we spent an hour at this location waiting for Uhaul customer service to make some changes by phone and then we had to go through the 24/7 share app, which finally worked. THIS WAS THE WORST UHAUL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. Your reservation processes need to be evaluated so that if someone reserves a truck, it should be available where they need it or within a reasonable distance (52 miles is not reasonable). If a truck is not available, do not take the reservation.

Uhaul trailer right bearing was bad. Due to the age of the unit the wheel bearing was not able to be replaced. We had to unpack the trailer & wait 7 plus hours for a new trailer to be delivered. The next morning we checked the wheel bearing prior to loading the new trailer. Loaded the new trailer & left for our destination. The extra day we paid for was a waste of money.

Improve your website, it is very slow to load. Also, please consider you rates as $1.09 a mile plus me having to pay $3.89 a gallon for fuel is just a little absurd. Fuel price not your fault, but the $1.09 should be $.75.

This business was great. Uhaul, in general, was a disaster. Supposedly, this location didn't have the truck I wanted and when I was driving by and told to go completely out of the way I saw they did have it. Online Uhaul information is completely inaccurate. I won't use it again. I'll call a business instead.

Trailer was very dirty on the inside...had to sweep it out before loading. I ordered 12 moving blankets...there was only 6 moving blankets in the packet when we opened it to begin loading. The lady that "helped" attach the trailer was not able to tighten the hitch securely, and she did not check the trailer lights before we departed their lot...I had to request that they be checked.

I booked well in advance to get a 26 ft in my town. The last day before my pick up date they called and said I had to drive over an hour to get the truck. That was an extra two hours I could load on the truck, or could have gotten a smaller truck but would have to pull a trailer. The ride was very bumpy on the hour + drive back to my house. There was no air ride going on. The mirrors were so tight I had to use a bear hug to adjust them properly so I could see. I brought the truck back an extra day early, but didn't get that day take off. I asked for a government discount as well, but didn't get one. I thought I read online you offered that? The drop off location had a canopy to park under. The sign said stop and wait for an employee to come out. All kinds of people walking around, but no one came in to check the truck in. After about 10 minutes I walked in the door. Told the same people that had previously walked by the parked return truck that I'm ready to check the truck in. They came back out and proceeded to do so.

Equipment was cover with 24" of snow which i dug out to get to the hitch in order to rent it . then issues with the rental paperwork. I reserved online but rental office said tow was not possible for my vehicle.

Get the trailers out of the muddy location or put down some rock so you don't have to slop through hooking up/un-hooking.

On line reservation was not communicated to dealer in a clear and concise fashion. The print out he got doubled my rate when in actuality it was upgraded by phone by a U Haul rep for the rate of a smaller trailer. I caught it and the Sigourney, IA person contacted U Haul to confirm my rate.

One of the retainers that's supposed to hold the ramp in is on backwards. When I noticed that the ramp was dragging behind the trailer, I was burned trying to put it back in place. I had to put a bungee strap on it to hold it in place.
